Piedmont Hills’ playoff run ends as Balboa cruises to NorCal 7-A title

San Francisco's Balboa cruised to a dominant 42-7 victory over Piedmont Hills, ending the Panthers' playoff run and claiming the NorCal Division 7-A championship.

Mekai Smith's three touchdowns led the way for Balboa, who played with a level of composure that Piedmont Hills couldn't match. The San Francisco school's balanced offense outgained the Panthers in every category, leaving no doubt about the outcome.

For Piedmont Hills, Saturday was a season-ending defeat, one that could be viewed as a disappointing end to a playoff run that had shown such promise just days earlier. Despite some late-game flashes from Diego Arias and company, the Panthers simply couldn't contain Balboa's potent offense, falling 35 points shy of victory.

Balboa's championship win marks a major milestone in the school's football program, one that promises more success to come in the years ahead.

idk what's up with this season-ending defeat tho? like, Piedmont Hills had some flashes, but they just couldn't keep up with Balboa's offense 🤔. at the same time, i gotta give it to Balboa - that composure was on point, and their balanced offense really showed off its skills 🙌. but, like, does it really matter if they were 35 points ahead? doesn't that kinda take away from Piedmont Hills' achievement of making it this far in the playoffs? 🤷‍♂️

I'm loving this underdog story 🏈💪! Balboa's dominance is giving me all the feels, reminds me of that iconic Cinderella story from A League of Their Own 🎬. They were down for a bit, but Smith and co. kept it together like the Avengers assemble 💥! Can't wait to see what the future holds for this squad 👀. That championship win is a testament to their hard work and dedication – major props to Balboa's team! 🤩

Ugh, I'm so done with this forum 🙄. Can we please get some better formatting on the scores? 42-7 is all I see, no bolding or nothing... it's like they don't want us to be able to easily read the results. And can someone explain to me why the "highlights" section keeps breaking down every time I try to watch them? It looks like a slideshow that's stuck on repeat 📹. And while we're at it, how about some actual discussion threads instead of just rehashing what happened in the game? I mean, I know the Panthers lost, but can't we talk about why they didn't quite make it work? 🤔

🏈 I'm loving how San Francisco's Balboa cruised to that NorCal Division 7-A championship title! Their balanced offense was just too much for Piedmont Hills to handle - it was like they were playing a different game out there 😅. Mekai Smith's three touchdowns are the real MVP (most valuable player, not just for scoring those TDs, but also for his composure and leadership on the field) and I think he's definitely going to be someone to watch in future seasons.

What really impressed me about Balboa was their level of composure under pressure - they didn't let Piedmont Hills' late-game flashes get in their heads and instead kept pushing forward with their game plan. It's clear that they've got a strong team dynamic and coaching staff that's able to adapt to different situations.

Of course, it's tough for any team to lose a playoff run, especially one that had shown so much promise earlier on 💔. But I think this season is still a major success story for Piedmont Hills - they showed they've got the potential to compete with some of the top teams in the league and that's something to build on. And who knows, maybe next year will be their turn to bring home that championship 🤞

🏈 The big question is how did Piedmont Hills go from looking super promising just days ago to getting thrashed like that? They had some late-game moments, but Balboa was on another level. That offense of theirs must've given them a huge confidence boost going into the playoffs... 🤔

man thats crazy they crushed them like 35 points!!! i was thinking balboa would give it a run but their offense is straight fire Mekai smith is a beast 🤯😂 what really got me tho is how dominant they were on both sides of the ball, didnt even see piedmont hills stand a chance, sad for those guys tho

oh man i'm still reeling from this game 🤯 san francisco balboa absolutely SMASHED piedmont hills 42-7 and i'm low-key salty for the panthers 😭 they had so much promise going into the playoffs and just couldn't pull it together when it mattered most. mekai smith is a legit star though - three touchdowns and he's making all the highlight reels 📺 balboa's offense was straight fire, outgaining piedmont hills in every category... i mean, what more can you ask for from your team? 💪 this championship win for balboa is HUGE and i'm so hyped to see what the future holds for that program 👏

omg I was really rooting for Piedmont Hills this season 🤔 their season was so promising and then it just kinda ended like that. on the bright side, Balboa seems like they've got some real talent on their team 🤑 Mekai Smith is a beast! but seriously, 42-7? thats crazy 😲 i'm not sure if i'd call that a "dominant" win tho...i mean, Piedmont Hills was playing with heart and stuff 💖

so Piedmont Hills is done for the season? I was thinking they were gonna pull it off 🤔. That Balboa team is straight fire though! Mekai Smith is a beast on the field 💪. I mean, I know high school football can be all about momentum, but for them to just shut down like that? Not impressed 😂. And Piedmont Hills thought they had a shot? They must've been blind 🙅‍♂️. Anyways, congrats to Balboa on the win and the championship! 🎉

I'm so over the lack of replay options on these sports websites... I mean, what's up with that? Can't you just watch highlights from every game, even the ones that aren't championships? It's like they want us to miss out on some sick plays 🤯. And another thing, why do they have to make the videos so short? 5 minutes of a highlight reel is not enough! Can't we get at least an hour-long version or something? 😒

omg balboa is sooo on fire right now!!! 😂 i think they were like super well organized and their offense was sooo balanced it made it hard for piedmont hills to even keep up lol. mekai smith is literally a superstar 🤩 he had 3 touchdowns and stuff! idk about piedmont hills though, i feel bad for them cuz they had that playoff run goin on and then just got crushed 💔. but congrats to balboa on the championship win!! this is def gonna be a great year for their team 🎉

🏈💪 I'm loving how balanced Balboa's offense was, it showed they're not just relying on one player to make plays all game long. Mekai Smith is definitely a star player, but he had some solid support from his teammates. It's great to see San Francisco's school football program taking off like this! 😊

just saw this news about balboa high school and gotta say, they played some amazing football! I mean, 42-7 is a huge margin of victory, especially in the playoffs. it's crazy how balanced their offense was - they outgained Piedmont Hills in every category 🤯. i'm loving the composure from Balboa, too - they didn't seem to get rattled at all when things weren't going their way 👍. can't wait to see what the future holds for this team and that school! maybe we'll be seeing some san fran high school football in the big leagues 🏈💪

omg i'm beyond stoked for balboa high school!!! 🤩 they played sooo well and deservedly won that NorCal Division 7-A championship! i mean, who doesn't love a team with a balanced offense 😎? Mekai Smith's three touchdowns were on point 🔥. and can we talk about how great the atmosphere must've been at the game?! 🏈💪 i'm already looking forward to next season 📆... maybe balboa will even make it to state! 💕

That new stadium for Balboa high is gonna be fire 🏟️💥! Their team's been killing it this season and now they're NorCal champs 🎉🏆. Can't wait to see what next year brings 👀💪
