Pope Leo XIV described Thanksgiving as a "beautiful feast" that brings together believers and non-believers alike, calling on everyone to recognize the gifts they have been given. In his message ahead of the US holiday, he expressed gratitude for life, faith, and unity.

The Pope, who is set to spend his first Thanksgiving as pope in Turkey during his upcoming foreign trip, was asked about his thoughts on Thanksgiving by reporters Tuesday night at Castel Gandolfo, where he takes a rest and plays tennis on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Pope Leo XIV noted that Thanksgiving is "this beautiful feast that unites all people - people of different faiths, people who perhaps do not have the gift of faith" to say thank you to someone.

By framing Thanksgiving as a universal celebration, Pope Leo XIV aimed to promote unity among diverse groups and emphasize the importance of expressing gratitude for what one has received.
 
idk how i feel about the pope's statement on thanksgiving lol 🤔 it seems like he's tryin to make everyone feel included but honestly its still a pretty american holiday... i mean im all for unity and whatnot, but can't we just say thank you to each other without bringing up faith or anything? 🙏 anyway, i guess its cool that the pope is visitin turkey this year and gettin to experience thanksgiving as the head of the catholic church 🇹🇷

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s kinda weird that they're calling this holiday "Thanksgiving" when like, the Pilgrims were all about thankfulness in the first place.
