"Power: Origins" production underway, new cast members join the crew. The highly anticipated Starz prequel series has officially begun filming in New Jersey, with a total of 18 episodes in store for fans. In addition to previously announced leads Spence Moore as Ghost, Charlie Mann as Tommy, and MeKai Curtis reprising his role from "Power Book III: Raising Kanan" as Kanan, six new actors have been added to the cast in recurring roles.
The new additions include Jennifer Ferrin as Kate Egan, a manipulative but fiercely devoted mother to Tommy; Lizzy DeClement as Jill Wexler, a sharp-tongued nurse with big dreams and a complicated past; Lenny Platt as Lenny Seidell, a charismatic finance bro turned fitness entrepreneur; Armani Gabriel as J-Boogs, a street-smart corner boy for Ghost and Tommy; Everett Osborne as Omay Moreau, a football star with an extravagant lifestyle; and Jason Dirden reprising his role as Traymont Stinson, a former associate of the Thomas family who betrayed them.

Sascha Penn serves as showrunner and executive producer, co-writing the pilot with "Power" creator Courtney Kemp. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television and has a star-studded production team behind it.

i loved the original power series so much, and now we get to see the origins of ghost, tommy, and kanan?? its like, we get to see them grow up and navigate their early lives in the nyc drug trade?!?! thats just gonna be so fascinating!!
