Prosecutors charge man in vandalism of 11 NYPD vehicles in Queens

A 22-year-old man has been slapped with a slew of charges for vandalizing 11 NYPD vehicles outside the headquarters of the 116th Precinct in Queens. Christian Genwright, according to authorities, carried out the malicious damage on Monday night, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake.

Eyewitnesses claim that Genwright arrived at the scene in a silver Lexus and used what appeared to be a hammer and a knife to flatten tires and break windows on the vehicles. The brazen act was caught on camera, which ultimately led police to track down the culprit.

This is not an isolated incident, however. In June, another suspect, Jakhi McCray, set 10 police vehicles ablaze in a Brooklyn parking lot. McCray has pleaded not guilty to charges of arson and is facing serious time.

Genwright's actions have left authorities red-faced, but the suspect will face trial nonetheless. Arraigned on Tuesday night, he was released under supervision until his next court appearance.

Man, what's going on with these young folks? Like, I get it, they're angry or whatever, but vandalizing police cars is not the way to express yourself. I mean, think about all those innocent bystanders who saw this guy in action and were just like "what the heck?" 🀯

And then you got a camera capturing everything, so now the whole world's gotta know about it. It's like, you're gonna get caught up in your own drama, and next thing you know, you're facing trial. I don't know man, can't we just talk things out or something? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

And have you seen all those police vehicles they got damaged outside that one precinct in Queens? It's like a whole fleet of 'em gone wrong. What's the point of even having them if they're just gonna get smashed up like that? πŸ˜’

idk how u guys feel about this... vandalizing cops cars like its some kinda joke πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. i mean, what's gonna stop people from doin the same thing to ambulances or fire trucks? it's not like they're off limits or somethin. and another thing, what's with all these cameras everywhere? can't we just have a little anonymity anymore? πŸ“ΈπŸ’” but honestly, i guess its good that the cops were able to catch him in the act... still don't condone the behavior tho πŸ˜’

This guy Genwright, what a menace lol πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ! I mean, vandalizing 11 NYPD cars is not something you do, especially when they're in plain sight. Did he think no one would notice? I'm all for people having a bad day and needing to vent, but smashing up property isn't the way to go about it.

It's just so frustrating, first Jakhi McCray sets those police vehicles on fire and now Genwright goes around breaking windows and flattening tires. Can't these guys just take their frustration out in a more constructive way? Like, I don't know, writing a letter or something?

Anyway, I'm glad the authorities were able to catch him on camera and track him down. And yeah, he's facing trial so hopefully justice will be served. But still, it's hard not to feel a little disappointed that someone would resort to such destructive behavior. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

OMG you guys I'm literally shook by this news 🀯 like, vandalizing 11 NYPD vehicles is NO JOKE and the fact that it's happened TWICE in different boroughs is crazy 😲 I mean, can't these people just find a healthier outlet for their anger or frustration? πŸ€” The cameras caught everything on tape so at least justice will be served but still, 22 years old is way too young to be doing this kind of thing πŸ’” and poor Christian is going to have some serious explaining to do when he faces the judge πŸš”

Man, vandalism is just not cool πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, what's going through someone's head to think that damaging police cars is a good idea? It's like, they're already dealing with a lot on the job, and you're gonna go around smashing their vehicles? That's just selfish and thoughtless.

And yeah, it's not an isolated incident either. You got people like Jakhi McCray setting 10 police cars on fire... that's just insane πŸ”₯. I don't know what's going through their minds, but it's clear they need some help or counseling or something.

Anyway, to Christian Genwright and Jakhi McCray, good luck with the trial 🀞. Hopefully, you guys learn your lesson and take responsibility for your actions. And to everyone else out there who's thinking about committing a similar crime, just don't do it, okay? It's not worth the risk or the stress πŸ’ͺ.

I feel really bad for that guy Genwright... I mean what makes someone do something so reckless and hurtful to others? It's like they just lost all sense of perspective 🀯. I remember when I was in college, I got into a minor scuffle with some guys who were messing around outside the library... it ended up with me getting in trouble too, but it was nothing like this 🚫.

I'm also kinda curious about why these people would even do something so destructive and hurtful to law enforcement. Like, don't they know that's what keeps us safe? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I guess you can never really understand someone's motivations until you've walked in their shoes... or at least, that's what my grandma always said πŸ’.

Anyway, it's just really sad to see people resorting to violence like this. Can't we all just get along and find better ways to deal with our problems? πŸ™

πŸš”πŸ˜’ This guy thinks he can just go around vandalizing cops' cars like they're his personal playground? Like, what's wrong with these kids?! 🀯 They need to understand that the people who put themselves in harm's way every day to keep our communities safe are not just faceless bureaucrats, but human beings with families and lives. And then there's this other guy in Brooklyn who's got some serious anger issues... arson is never the answer. 🚫πŸ’₯

omg, this is so disturbing 🀯! i mean, vandalizing 11 police cars? that's just crazy talk 😱. i can understand why authorities would be red-faced, but you gotta wonder what drove this guy to do such a thing πŸ€”. was he angry at the cops or just looking for a thrill? and what about the victim, does he have any idea who could've done this to him? πŸ˜•

anyway, i'm glad they caught the guy and he's facing trial, but can we talk about how messed up our society is when people resort to this kind of behavior πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ? like, what's next? are we gonna see more of these kinds of incidents? it just feels so... pointless πŸ’”.

πŸ€” idk what's going on with these young folks lately... 22 years old and already they're dealing with some serious stuff like vandalism & arson. I mean, i get it, frustration's real but breaking the law ain't gonna solve anything πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. These guys are gonna have to deal with some serious consequences, good for 'em I guess? πŸ’― at least now they know what happens when you let your emotions take over 😬. just hope the 116th precinct gets back on its feet soon πŸ‘.

this whole thing is just so frustrating 🀯 - some people just don't think about how their destructive behavior affects others. i mean, vandalizing police vehicles? that's not just a crime, it's also a huge waste of resources and time for the NYPD to deal with these incidents. and let's be real, this guy gets caught on camera, no big surprise there πŸ˜‚. but seriously, what's going through people's heads? do they really think it's worth risking their freedom and causing harm to others just to make a statement or express themselves?

and what about the precedent set by Jakhi McCray? setting 10 police vehicles ablaze? that's on another level of reckless behavior πŸ”₯. we need to address the underlying issues that drive people to engage in such destructive actions, rather than just punishing them for it. maybe there are some social or economic factors at play here that we're not fully understanding πŸ€”. anyway, I'm just tired of seeing our cities turned into war zones, one smashed-up police car at a time πŸ’”.

This is getting old... like, really old πŸ˜’. Every few months, it seems like there's another case of some guy smashing up police cars and expecting to get off scot-free πŸš”. I'm not saying that the justice system isn't doing its job, but come on... what's going through these people's minds? 🀯 Do they really think that just because they got caught on camera, they're going to get a slap on the wrist and be good to go?

And don't even get me started on Jakhi McCray. Arson is a serious offense, dude. You're not just burning down some old cop car, you're putting lives at risk πŸ’₯. I'm all for second chances, but these guys need to face consequences for their actions.

I mean, what's the message here? That we can just do whatever we want and there'll be no repercussions? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ It's not exactly inspiring confidence in our law enforcement agencies... or our society as a whole.

I'm shocked by these incidents, reminds me of the good ol' days when protests were a bit more peaceful and less destructive 😳. I mean, can't we just express our opinions without causing chaos? These young folks are going to have to deal with some serious consequences for their actions. It's like they think they're above the law or something. Remember that one time in '07 when the Occupy Wall Street protests got a bit too heated and people started smashing up property... yeah, it was all over the news πŸ“°. But at least then there were leaders guiding the movement, not just some random kid with a hammer and a silver Lexus πŸš—.

OMG, can't believe people are doing this 🀯🚨! Like, vandalizing police cars is NOT okay, you know? It's so frustrating that someone would do this and then just walk away without thinking about the consequences πŸ™„.

I mean, I get it, they're upset with the system or whatever, but attacking innocent property isn't the way to go πŸ’”. And what really gets me is that these people are thinking they can outsmart the cops by doing something crazy on camera πŸ“Ή... like, nope, not buying it πŸ˜‚.

I feel bad for the police officers who have to deal with this kind of stuff every day πŸ€•. They're already stressed and overwhelmed as it is, and then you add these incidents to the mix? No thanks! Can't we all just get along and respect each other's property? πŸ€—
