PSG drop points in Monaco but Marseille fail to capitalise … again

Marseille's title hopes have taken another hit, as they failed to capitalise on Paris Saint-Germain's defeat in Monaco. The visitors were dominant from start to finish, with Takumi Minamino giving them the lead midway through the second half. However, Thilo Kehrer's red card in the 80th minute reduced PSG to 10 men, and despite their numerical disadvantage, they failed to create any clear-cut chances.

In stark contrast, Marseille were unable to build on the momentum of PSG's defeat. They dominated Toulouse for much of the match but were unable to find a winner, with Igor Paixão equalising in the 66th minute before Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg put them two up. However, Mark McKenzie's throw-in in the final minutes sent the game crashing back down to earth, and Gerónimo Rulli's header from Santiago Hidalgo's equaliser gave Toulouse a dramatic point.

The draw has left Marseille trailing Lens by a single point, with both sides boasting impressive 31 points each. However, while Lens seem comfortable at the top, Marseille are struggling with their own form issues and injuries. Roberto De Zerbi's team have conceded in injury time twice this season, and despite coming from behind to beat Newcastle, they struggled against Toulouse.

Marseille captain Leonardo Balerdi acknowledged that his team need to regain their focus and not get distracted by their rivals' results. "If we start to tell ourselves 'we have a chance if we win or if they lose,' then we will lose ourselves," he said.

Meanwhile, PSG's defeat has given Lens the opportunity to take top spot in Ligue 1. The team, managed by Pierre Sage, are confident that they can maintain their momentum and secure European qualification. "We need to get used to playing three games a week – we aren't yet ready," Sage said. However, despite some concerns over their youth and lack of experience, the club's players seem determined to push on.

In other news, Nice's decline continued with a 3-1 defeat away to Lorient. The team's manager, Franck Haise, has come under pressure after admitting that he offered to leave the club last week. Despite some promising performances, Nice are struggling to stay up and have taken just 17 points from their 14 games.

Finally, Strasbourg suffered a surprise defeat to Brest in midweek, with Samuel Amo-Ameyaw conceding a penalty before Hugo Magnetti scored the winner late on. The team's manager, Liam Rosenior, has called for his players to stop making excuses and start winning games. "We have to win and that's it," he said.

I'm getting frustrated with Marseille's performance lately 🤯. They're always so close to the top but can't seem to capitalize on their chances. Thilo Kehrer's red card was a huge mistake, but I guess you get what you pay for 💸. It's like they're playing two different teams - the one that dominates and the one that folds under pressure 😅.

I'm loving Lens' momentum right now though 🎉. They've got the perfect mix of youth and experience, and it shows on the pitch. PSG's loss might be a blessing in disguise for them – it's given Lens a chance to shine and secure European qualification. Can't wait to see how they handle the pressure 💪.

As for Nice, I think Franck Haise needs to go 🚫. His excuses are getting old, and his performances are too inconsistent. The team's struggling to stay up, but he's not doing anything to help that situation 😔. And Strasbourg? What happened to them? One week they're on fire, the next they're getting thrashed 💥. It's all so dramatic 😂!

😐 I feel bad for Marseille, they had such a great chance to take the lead from PSG but then got sloppy at the end 🤦‍♂️. Thilo Kehrer's red card was a huge blow, and they just couldn't capitalize on it afterwards 💔. On the other hand, Toulouse's comeback is amazing! Igor Paixão's equalizer was incredible, and Gerónimo Rulli's header at the end was like a dream come true 😍.

Lens are definitely looking strong right now, but I'm still worried that they'll get complacent with their lead 😬. Marseille need to stay focused and not get distracted by what other teams are doing 🤔. And Nice... well, it looks like Franck Haise's time is running out at the club 🚫. Strasbourg's loss was a huge surprise, but Liam Rosenior needs to get his team's mindset right ASAP 🙄.

It's getting intense in Ligue 1, and I love it! 😃

😐 I'm getting so tired of Marseille not living up to their potential. They're like, super talented but just can't seem to string together a decent performance. 🤦‍♂️ Thilo Kehrer gets sent off in the 80th minute and that's basically game over for them. And on the other hand, Toulouse are like the underdog team of the season, scoring a point against Marseille after being down by two goals. 💥 Meanwhile, Lens is just cruising along at the top, which is a bit annoying because I love watching them play! 😒 The draw between Marseille and PSG has really thrown their title hopes into disarray...

PSG fans are like me when they see their team lose 😂... just confused! 💔 I think the biggest problem for Marseille is not just injuries but also mental fatigue 🤯. They need a break, like a cup win or something, to recharge and refocus 🔋. And yeah, PSG's defeat gives Lens the push they needed to go top 👑! On the other hand, Nice are really struggling, I feel bad for Franck Haise 🤕... maybe he'll get his job back after all 🙏. Strasbourg, though, needs to buck up their defense ASAP ⚔️! #Ligue1 #Football #PSG #Marseille #Lens

🤔 u know what's crazy? ppl think marseille just choked but i think they're trying to manage expectations lol they were dominant at times & got some unlucky breaks. their form issues r real tho 🤦‍♂️ can't keep relying on injuries & getting caught out in injury time 😩 lens is lookin good tho, gotta give them credit for stayin calm despite psg's slip-up 💪 nice & strasbourg are strugglin, u feel? 1 point difference between marseille & lenz might seem like a lot but it's all about consistency 🤞

OMG 🤯 Marseille is literally killing me right now 😩! One minute they're dominating Toulouse, the next they're losing momentum 💔. I mean, Thilo Kehrer's red card was a game-changer 🚫, and they just couldn't capitalize on PSG's defeat 🙅‍♂️. It's like they're losing focus 🔎. And now they trail Lens by one point? 😱 That's not good news for their title hopes.

I'm loving how Lens are on fire right now 🔥, though! They need to keep this momentum going and stay ahead of Marseille 🚀. And Nice... 😳 Franck Haise is in trouble, dude 🤯. 17 points from 14 games? That's not exactly what you want to see 👎.

Strasbourg's manager needs to get his players' heads back in the game 💡. "Win and that's it"? 🔴⚪️ Sounds like a solid plan to me 😂!
