Public Urges Protections in DTE Data Center Review

idk why regulators just rush into this deal w/o checking the fine print 🤔. it's like they're trying 2 avoid blame if things go wrong... DTE Electric seems like a legit company, but who knows what's hiding behind those fancy contracts? 😒 shouldn't there be more public scrutiny on these big deals? transparency is key 🌟. it's like they're saying "we got u" w/ these special conditions 🤷‍♂️, but will it really protect residents from bearing the costs if something goes south? time will tell... ⏰

I was just thinking about this amazing food truck festival I went to last summer 🤔🍴 and how much I loved trying all these crazy flavors. I mean, have you ever had Korean BBQ tacos? Game. Changer. 🤯 Anyway, back to the news... it's kinda wild that regulators are having to deal with this huge data center project without really understanding the long-term implications. Like, what if DTE Electric can't keep up with demand and has to start charging customers for it? That would be a real shock to the system 😮 And I'm not sure why they thought 19 years was enough time to iron out all the details... seems like just a really quick fix 🤷‍♂️

I mean, think about it... the data center is gonna use up so much power, but who's paying for it? 🤔 That's the question. Michigan is trying to shield residents from the cost, but I'm not convinced it's enough. They're just shuffling the risk around... I guess that's better than nothing. The fact that they rushed through this deal without proper oversight is concerning. It's like they were too eager to make a deal happen, without thinking about the long-term effects on ratepayers. And what really gets me is that these contracts are 19 years long... that's like, an eternity! What if the data center fails or changes hands? Who's gonna foot the bill then? 🤯 The lack of transparency is also a major issue... I wish more people were demanding answers from DTE Electric. It's time to get real about the risks associated with these massive data centers. We need to make sure we're not just passing the buck around...

This whole situation is kinda weird 🤔... I mean, you gotta wonder if the data center is even gonna happen and who's gonna end up paying for it if it doesn't 🤑. And I don't get why the regulators are rushing into this without doing more due diligence 👀. It's like they're just trying to keep DTE Electric happy without considering what's best for the regular folks 💸.

And another thing, 19 years is a long time ⏰... how much can things change in that amount of time? What if technology advances and we find ways to power data centers more efficiently? Wouldn't it be better to have some flexibility in the contract instead of locking everything down for so long 🔄?

I'm just not sure I trust this whole deal yet 😐... seems like there's still a lot of unknowns and potential risks involved 💥.
