‘Quezon’ Director Jerrold Tarog Sets Horror Film ‘Knock Three Times’ for CreaZion Studios (EXCLUSIVE)

Filmmaker Jerrold Tarog Returns to Horror with 'Knock Three Times'

Renowned director Jerrold Tarog is set to helm a chilling psychological horror film titled 'Knock Three Times', courtesy of CreaZion Studios. Based on Filipino urban folklore, the movie tells the story of a young woman who discovers her mother's involvement with an ominous antique mirror, which becomes the catalyst for a descent into madness.

Tarog returns to the horror genre after his successful psychological thriller 'Bliss'. The project earned him finalist status at the ATF x EST N8 Horror Pitch 2025, paving its way towards wider international distribution.

In discussing the film, Tarog highlighted its core emotional resonance. According to him, "horror is most powerful when grounded in human vulnerability." He aims to convey how trauma can lead us to confront forces beyond our control.

Produced by filmmaker-producer Real Florido alongside RJ Agustin, 'Knock Three Times' takes its cue from a childhood ritual involving mirrors and candles that Tarog witnessed during Manila's frequent power outages. Inspired by this experience, the film delves into the mysterious world of Filipino folklore to create an intimate atmosphere filled with cinematic tension.

CreaZion Studios has engaged with international distributors and investors following the ATF pitch, solidifying its commitment to global storytelling while staying true to its roots in the Philippines. By merging universal themes like fear and family with a rich cultural context, 'Knock Three Times' is poised to transcend borders and captivate audiences worldwide.

man this filmmaker jerrold tarog he's back at it again 🔥 what i love about horror movies is how they can tap into our deepest fears on a primal level, like tarog said "horror is most powerful when grounded in human vulnerability" 🤯 the way he weaves together universal themes with rich cultural context from philippine folklore is pure magic ✨ gotta keep an eye out for this one, trust me 👀

I'm so down for another Filipino horror film 🎃! I've been missing Tarog's style of psychological thrillers since 'Bliss'. The idea of using urban folklore as inspiration is genius, it adds this depth to the movie that makes you feel like you're experiencing the culture firsthand. And I love how he emphasizes human vulnerability in horror, it's so true. The fact that it's set in Manila during power outages takes me back to those crazy days and I can already imagine the creepy mirror scenes 🕷️. Can't wait for this one!

I'm excited to see Jerrold Tarog back in the horror genre 🎃! He's got a knack for creating psychological thrillers that linger long after the credits roll, like 'Bliss'. I love how he's drawing from Filipino folklore to bring this unique perspective to the table 🌴. The idea of an antique mirror being a catalyst for madness is so unsettling... it just shows how powerful human vulnerability can be in storytelling, right? 😬

I'm so down for another psychological horror flick from Jerrold Tarog 🤯. The way he's going back to his roots with this Filipino urban folklore-inspired film is really cool. I love how he's emphasizing the human vulnerability aspect of horror - it makes it so much more relatable and unsettling at the same time 😱. The fact that he drew inspiration from a personal experience, like those power outages in Manila, gives me hope that this film will have a unique authenticity to it. Can't wait to see how CreaZion Studios executes this project and brings it to a global audience 📽️.

🤣 "oh great, another horror movie about mirrors because that's not been done before... seriously though, I'm curious about this one tho! Tarog's last film was pretty well received so fingers crossed he can make 'Knock Three Times' just as chilling 🕷️💀. also, it's cool to see Filipino urban folklore being represented on the big screen - gotta love a good cultural nod 😊"

🕷️ sounds interesting i dont no much about filipino urban folklore but im defo gonna check this movie out tarog's last film bliss was pretty good so hopefully knock three times will be just as chilling

idk why ppl r hyped 4 dis one... horror movies r so overrated 🤯. Tarog's got some decent experience under his belt but what makes 'Knock Three Times' special? Sounds like a generic folkloric tale with some creepy mirror vibes. ain't got nothin' new or innovative here 👀. plus, how do u make trauma & vulnerability appealing 4 audiences? feels like another tired horror plot 🤷‍♂️. might b some intrestin visuals tho...

OMG u guys!!! 🤩 I'm literally SOOOO hyped for this new movie 'Knock Three Times'!!! Jerrold Tarog returning to horror is like, the best news ever 🎬💀! 🎃️ I'm super stoked for Jerrold Tarog's new project! Horror has always been my fave genre, and the fact that he's returning to it after 'Bliss' is amazing 🤩. The idea of this film being based on Filipino urban folklore is so cool - I love how it's gonna bring a fresh perspective to the horror scene 😎. And honestly, who wouldn't be freaked out by an antique mirror? 🕳️ Tarog's emphasis on human vulnerability is really interesting - it sounds like he's going for a more psychological approach rather than just jump scares 💀. Fingers crossed this one gets made and we get to experience the magic! 🎥

omg u guys i cant w8 4 this movie!!! i mean tarog has done it again, i loved bliss and now he's bringing the scares 🎃🕷️ with knock three times its based on filipino urban folklore so u know its gonna be lit! 🌟 and tarog said horror is all about human vulnerability i feel like that resonates soo much w/ me right now 👻💔 but honestly im not a fan of the sound of mirrors being creepy lmao what r u guys most excited for? 😁

I'm so stoked about Jerrold Tarog's new project 🤩! He's got this knack for crafting stories that are both deeply unsettling and profoundly human. The way he's combining Filipino urban folklore with a psychological horror framework is pure genius 🔮. I mean, who wouldn't want to explore the darker corners of our minds and the world around us?

For me, it's all about the vulnerability factor 💔. Tarog's got this spot on – when we're confronted with trauma or uncertainty, we can tap into these primal fears that are both universal and deeply personal. The fact that he's bringing this to life through a cinematic lens is going to be simply terrifying (in the best possible way 😱).

What I love about 'Knock Three Times' is how it's blending local mythology with global themes 🌎. It's not just about some creepy mirror or supernatural being – it's about how our collective fears are shaped by our experiences, our relationships, and our very humanity. If this film can tap into that emotional resonance, I'm more than ready to dive in 🎥!

🤔 "The truth is rarely pure and never simple." This new horror movie sounds super creepy! Grounding it in human vulnerability will definitely make it more relatable and unsettling at the same time 🎃️. Can't wait to see Jerrold Tarog's vision come to life on screen 💀.
