Sali Hughes on beauty: introducing my hero skincare products of 2025

Korean Skincare Dominates 2025 Skincare Scene: 10 Brands to Watch Out For

It's been a phenomenal year for skincare, with South Korean brands leading the charge in offering innovative, effective, and affordable solutions for all skin types. From hydration to anti-aging, these brands have successfully disrupted the traditional beauty landscape, tempting consumers away from established products and towards radiant, glassy-looking complexions.

One brand that stands out is Beauty of Joseon, whose Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics SPF50+ has captured my attention. This elegant sunscreen embodies everything I love about the genre: gentle, soothing formulas; stacks of ungreasy hydration; featherlight textures; and most impressively, competitive pricing. Available for just £15.50, this product delivers more than we're used to without breaking the bank.

While Korean brands are undoubtedly making waves, France is not to be underestimated. Mimétique has launched several standout products, including the Skin Cloud cleansing balm, which has left me impressed with its thorough and fast performance without any residue or fuss. The CTRL eye cream (£43) has also won me over, providing a flawless moisturizing experience under makeup.

The Ordinary has also had a breakout year, with its £13.50 GF 15% Solution shaming the competition by offering similar anti-aging technology at a fraction of the cost. This gentle, easy-to-use serum is perfect for even sensitive skin and is an excellent option for those who've struggled with previous products.

Hair+Me's dermatological expertise has also made headlines this year, as they offered prescription hair-loss treatments to customers struggling to find relief from their doctor. And in a remarkable comeback, mineral sunscreen has experienced a huge resurgence in popularity, thanks in part to Sunsolve MD's innovative zinc-oxide face creams that are both elegant and makeup-compatible.

Last but not least, I'm eagerly awaiting the UK launch of INN Beauty Project's Mineral Sun Glow, a tinted facial sunscreen that's already won me over in its US debut. With its affordability and effectiveness, it's sure to be a game-changer in the skincare world.

Skincare is like life itself - you gotta find what works for your skin type & budget 🤔💄. These brands are killing the game by offering innovative solutions without breaking the bank 💸👍. But here's the thing: it's not just about the products, it's about taking care of yourself in general... self-care is key! 💆‍♀️ You gotta prioritize your own well-being & skin health over buying into trends or trying to keep up with everyone else's beauty standards 🌟💅.

🤩 I'm loving how Korean skincare is taking over the scene right now! I mean, £15.50 for a suncreen with SPF 50+ that doesn't feel like gloopy mess? Yes, please! 😍 Beauty of Joseon is my new fave brand and I've already repurchased their Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics SPF50+ like three times 📦. And have you tried Mimétique's Skin Cloud cleansing balm? It's literally transformed my morning skincare routine into a 5-minute magic trick ✨. Can't wait to try more of these new brands and see what the future holds for skincare! 💖

I find it fascinating how something as seemingly superficial as our skin can have such a profound impact on our self-perception and overall well-being 💆‍♀️. It's amazing how these Korean brands have managed to tap into that, offering products that not only work wonders for our complexions but also come with an affordable price tag. But what I think is even more intriguing is the way these brands are redefining the traditional beauty landscape, challenging our preconceived notions of what skincare should be and how much it should cost 💸.

It's a reflection of our ever-changing values and priorities as consumers, isn't it? We're no longer willing to sacrifice quality for the sake of affordability or vice versa. Instead, we're seeking out products that offer a balance between effectiveness and accessibility. And in doing so, we're opening up new opportunities for innovation and growth within the beauty industry 🌱.

But what's really got me thinking is how this shift towards more affordable, effective skincare reflects our broader societal values of self-care and wellness. We're finally recognizing the importance of taking care of ourselves, not just on the surface but on a deeper level as well ❤️.

I'm so down for Korean skincare right now 🤩. I mean, have you seen their products? They're like, the ultimate hydration squad 💦! I've tried a few brands already and I'm loving Beauty of Joseon's relief sunscreens - they're literally the best thing since sliced bread 🍞. And can we talk about The Ordinary's GF 15% Solution? It's like a miracle worker for your skin 💫, especially at that crazy affordable price point. I also wanna try more French brands now, Mimétique sounds so high-end and impressive 💁‍♀️. What about you, who's been loving the skincare scene this year? 🤔

omg u think this is crazy?! Korean skincare has come so far since i first started using it back in 2015 💁‍♀️. I remember getting my first sheet mask from Innisfree and being like "wow, how do they make these things so affordable?!" 🤯 now we have an entire industry built around them and it's insane 🤩. And don't even get me started on the innovation - these new products are crazy! 🚀 I mean, £15.50 for a sunscreen that actually works?! 🤑 it's like they're speaking our language over there 💁‍♀️.
