Seductive stitches, Warhol in Nottingham and an Italian giant's igloo sculpture – the week in art

A New York artist's abstract works are currently on display at London's White Cube Mason's Yard, where they showcase a seductive and lyrical beauty that blurs the lines between embroidery and painting. The exhibition runs until February 28.

In Nottingham, the city's Lakeside Arts venue is hosting an exhibition of Andy Warhol's work from January 24 to April 19. Although Trump has taken office in America, Warhol continues to captivate audiences with his iconic images of celebrities and consumer culture.

At Patrick Heide Contemporary Art in London, an intriguing exploration of how drawing can grow from performance art or vice versa is on display until March 7. This exhibition features works by Carali McCall, Jaanika Peerna, and others.

London's Bernard Jacobson Gallery is showcasing a homage to the great landscape artist John Constable, with works by David Hockney, John Hoyland, and more from January 29 to February 27.

Mario Merz's protective and welcoming igloo sculpture is part of an exhibition at Sprovieri in London until March 13. The artist was known for his environmentally sensitive arte povera style.

The Guardian also highlights a new painting by Lorenzo Veneziano, the Madonna of Humility with Saints Mark and John, which is currently on display at the National Gallery in London. This medieval work showcases a tender moment between mother and child that lifts it from gold-laden piety to human profundity.

I mean, have you noticed how art museums are like time capsules? They show us what's current and what's popular, but also give us a glimpse of the past. Like this Andy Warhol exhibition in Nottingham, it's cool that people are still into his stuff even with Trump around. It's almost like we're living in a parallel universe where consumer culture doesn't matter.

And I love that there's an exhibition about John Constable at Bernard Jacobson Gallery. His landscapes are so calming and beautiful. But what I find really interesting is how art can be both nostalgic and forward-thinking at the same time. Like, Mario Merz's igloo sculpture might seem like a retro thing, but it's actually all about environmentalism which is super relevant today.

It's also nice to see that some museums are showcasing works from different eras and styles. Like the National Gallery with Lorenzo Veneziano's painting, it's amazing how art can transport us to another time and place. It's like we're not just looking at a painting, we're experiencing history.

🤔 I'm loving these art exhibitions popping up around London right now! You know what's crazy? The way Warhol's work still holds up even with Trump in the White House 🙄. It just goes to show that his fascination with celebrity culture and consumerism is timeless... or at least, it feels like it 😂.

I also love how these exhibitions are blurring lines between different art forms - embroidery, painting, drawing, performance art... it's all about pushing boundaries and creating something new 🎨. And have you seen the Madonna of Humility by Lorenzo Veneziano? 😍 That medieval piece is giving me all the feels - that tender moment between mother and child is just so beautifully rendered. It's like you can feel the emotion radiating off the canvas ❤️.

By the way, has anyone checked out Mario Merz's igloo sculpture at Sprovieri? 🏠 It's like stepping into a cozy little world... who knew art could be so welcoming? 😊

I'm so down for this exhibition season in London 🎨👍, but I'm also totally overhyped about it 😒... like, why do we need another Andy Warhol exhibit? 🤔 Can't we just leave him alone after all these years? His art is iconic and all that, but is it still relatable now? 🤷‍♂️ At the same time, I'm totally stoked to see some amazing contemporary artists like Carali McCall and Jaanika Peerna at Patrick Heide Contemporary Art... their work is so innovative and forward-thinking 💥. But wait, isn't this just another example of how art worlds are always imitating each other? 🤦‍♀️ Like, can't we create something entirely new for once? 😩

🎨 I'm loving how art has this way of bringing people together even when the world outside feels pretty chaotic. Like, Warhol's stuff is so iconic and timeless, it's crazy he's still speaking to us today 🤯. And can we talk about Constable's landscapes for a sec? Those hills and skies are like the ultimate feel-good vibes 🌞. I also really appreciate how some of these exhibitions are exploring this intersection between performance art and drawing – feels like there's so much room for creativity and experimentation 💥. And have you seen that new painting at the National Gallery? The way the light is hitting the subject's face is just... ❤️. It's days like these that remind me why I love living in a city with so much culture 🌈

OMG u guys i just saw this exhibition at White Cube Mason's Yard & its literally stunning 🤩! The way the artist blended embroidery with painting was like nothing i've ever seen before. I'm loving how art is still pushing boundaries in 2025! Meanwhile, Warhol's work still holding up? no cap, that guy was a genius 💯. And did u know about Lorenzo Veneziano's medieval masterpiece @ the National Gallery? 🤯 That painting of the Madonna with Saints Mark & John is giving me all the feels ❤️. What about u guys, have u checked out any art exhibitions lately?

I'm loving these art exhibitions popping up in London right now 🎨👀 I went to the White Cube Mason's Yard last weekend and was blown away by that NYC artist's stuff – the way they blended embroidery with painting, it was like nothing I've ever seen before! 👏 And can you believe Warhol's still got us hooked? 🤯 It's crazy how some artists can transcend time and cultures. The Constable exhibit at Bernard Jacobson Gallery was really interesting too - I mean who knew Hockney could paint so beautifully? 🤔 Also, have you seen the Mario Merz sculpture? That igloo is like a cozy little home 😊

🤔 The way art can bring people together is pretty cool... I mean, look at these exhibitions! You've got Andy Warhol's iconic images right next to John Constable's beautiful landscapes, and then there are all the different mediums like embroidery and performance art on display. It's like, art has this amazing ability to transport us out of our own lives for a sec and into someone else's world. I think that's what makes exhibitions so special... they're like little time machines that take us back in time or introduce us to new ideas. 🎨

Meh, just seen this exhibition thingy at White Cube Mason's Yard, it's actually pretty cool how they're blending embroidery with painting. It's like, I get why some ppl would appreciate the texture & detail in embroidered art but for me, it's all good with a smooth paint job anytime

omg u guys i just saw this exhibition @ white cube mason's yard & it was literally stunning 🤩 they have these amazing abstractions by nyc artist that looks like embroidery but its paint 🎨 like how do they even get those threads-like patterns? 🤔 meanwhile warhol is still killing the game at lakeside arts in nottingham, i mean trump or whatever, his art is timeless 💁‍♀️ what's crazy is how some of these artists are pushing boundaries between drawing & performance art @ patrick heide contemporary art, thats so cool to see how it all flows together 🌈

omg I'm so down for this exhibition season 🎨👏 it's like art lovers are getting a treat with all these cool shows 🤩 starting in jan, the warhol one in nottingham is gonna be lit 🔥 and i love how they're doing an homage to constable at bernard jacobson gallery 🌳 that painting by Lorenzo Veneziano at national gallery tho.. it's like a tender moment from another era ❤️ can't wait to see all these masterpieces in person! 💫

omg, i'm so loving the layout of this article 🤩 - each section is like a mini-exhibition itself, with its own intro and features. it's making me wanna click through to every single one 😍 and also can we talk about how great it is that there are so many cool exhibitions happening in london right now? i mean, warhol at lakeside arts sounds amazing, and the bernard jacobson gallery show on constable is a nice nod to british art history 🏰. but what really caught my eye was that new veneziano painting - i love how you highlighted its human side ❤️

I'm loving how art galleries are popping up all over London right now 🗺️! It's like they're giving us a reason to stay indoors on rainy days ☁️. I mean, Warhol's iconic works are still going strong even with Trump in the White House 😂. And have you seen those paintings by Lorenzo Veneziano at the National Gallery? The Madonna of Humility is so tender and human, it's like you can feel the emotions radiating from the canvas ❤️. I'm also intrigued by that exhibition on performance art vs drawing – I love how art keeps evolving and pushing boundaries 🤯. And who knew David Hockney was a fan of John Constable? 😊

🤔 I'm kinda surprised to see Warhol's stuff still getting so much attention after all these years... I mean, don't get me wrong, the guy was a genius or whatever 🙃, but some of his work just feels like it's stuck in a weird time capsule. And what's up with the juxtaposition of modern art and historical masterpieces? I mean, we're basically showing Warhol alongside Constable... it's like they're from different planets 🌐. On the other hand, that igloo sculpture by Mario Merz is actually pretty cool - love how he incorporates environmental themes into his art 🌿. Also, that painting by Lorenzo Veneziano? Mind. Blown. 👏

omg what's wrong with these exhibitions? they're all so... safe i mean who wants to look at some old paintings or sculptures of famous people? where's the edge? the controversy? warhol was a genius but even he's been watered down in this era of trump and politics as usual. and don't even get me started on the landscape artists, david hockney's just a posh bloke with a camera 🤷‍♂️

🎨 I'm loving how these exhibitions are bringing some fresh energy to London's art scene right now! That embroidery-painting hybrid show at White Cube Mason's Yard sounds like a total vibe fest 🌸, and I'm intrigued by the Warhol show in Nottingham - I mean, who doesn't love a good dose of old-school pop culture? 🤪

And oh man, that Patrick Heide Contemporary Art exhibition about drawing vs performance art is giving me LIFE! 🎭 It's like, how do you even choose between creating something abstract and then making it interactive or vice versa?! 🤯 I'm definitely checking out the Bernard Jacobson Gallery show too - David Hockney as a landscape artist? That sounds like a fascinating exploration of his style.

On a separate note, that medieval painting by Lorenzo Veneziano is giving me all the feels! The Madonna of Humility with Saints Mark and John looks so tender and human... I love how it's not just about gold leaf and religiosity, but actually conveying this deep emotional connection between mother and child ❤️

Man... art galleries just keep popping up everywhere! 🤯 Love how they're bringing all this amazing talent to our city, even when they're not actually living here 😊. That Andy Warhol exhibition in Nottingham is gonna be lit! I've always been fascinated by his stuff, there's something so captivating about those silkscreen prints of Marilyn Monroe and whatnot 🎨. And can't wait to check out the John Constable exhibit at Bernard Jacobson Gallery, our city has some amazing artistic connections you know? 🌳 Also, that Lorenzo Veneziano painting at the National Gallery is giving me all the feels, it's so beautiful... I mean, we don't get much of this medieval art in the UK so it's a treat to see something like that up close 💕

I'm loving the art scene in London right now 🤩! It's like they're bringing back some old school vibes with these exhibits. I mean, Andy Warhol's work still holds up even after all these years... who wouldn't want a piece of that iconic Pop Art action? And the fact that they're showing his stuff alongside some newer artists is dope. I've always been fascinated by how art can bridge generations and styles 🎨💡.

And have you seen the John Constable exhibit at Bernard Jacobson Gallery? David Hockney's landscapes are like a breath of fresh air – all those golden hues and soft brushstrokes... it's like stepping into a serene English countryside scene 🌳🏞️. Not to mention that Mario Merz's igloo sculpture is so trippy and Instagram-worthy 😂!

But what really caught my eye was the medieval painting at the National Gallery – Lorenzo Veneziano's "Madonna of Humility" is seriously beautiful... it's like a reminder that art can be timeless and universal, even after all these centuries 🕊️💫. What do you think about these exhibits?

Art is like life itself - messy, beautiful & imperfect 🌿💥 I mean think about it, Warhol's work might be super iconic but some of his prints are straight up tacky lol. But you can't deny the influence he had on pop culture. And those landscapes from Hockney? Stole my breath! Like, who knew all that British countryside could look so breathtakingly modern 🌸🔥

But what really caught my eye was that new painting by Lorenzo Veneziano - it's like, totally transporting you to another time & place. The way the light is filtering through...it's just *wow*. It makes me think about how art can transcend centuries & styles & all that jazz 💫🖼️

And I love how these exhibitions are popping up everywhere! Like, the one at Patrick Heide Contemporary Art? That's like a dream come true for an artist like me 🌟🎨. Exploring those lines between performance art and drawing...it's like, totally fascinating.

I love how these exhibitions are like little worlds to explore! The way the White Cube Mason's Yard exhibition wraps embroidery into painting is so mesmerizing 🌿💡. And can you imagine seeing Andy Warhol's work in Nottingham? It's crazy that he still holds up despite all the changes in America 🤯. I'm intrigued by the drawing-performance art show at Patrick Heide Contemporary Art, it sounds like a fascinating conversation between two mediums 🖌️🕺. The Bernard Jacobson Gallery's John Constable tribute is also lovely, who wouldn't want to bask in some beautiful landscapes? 🌳🏞️ And that Mario Merz sculpture? It's like stepping into an igloo of art 🧅😊. The National Gallery's Lorenzo Veneziano painting... it's stunning! There's something so human about the way he depicted the saints and the mother, it feels like you're getting a private moment with them ❤️👫
