Sen. Fetterman calls on Trump to fire DHS Secretary Kristi Noem after ICE killings in Minneapolis

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has made a startling reversal in his stance, calling for President Donald Trump to fire Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem over the recent killings of two individuals by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis.

Fetterman's appeal comes on the heels of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti being gunned down by ICE agents while observing the activity. The senator's statement likened their deaths to a betrayal of DHS's core mission and trashing of border security, drawing a stark contrast with his previous support for Noem.

Fetterman is among seven Democratic senators who voted to confirm her cabinet appointment last year. He has repeatedly rejected calls to defund or abolish ICE but now accuses Noem of being a "total failure" in her role. This sharp shift indicates that Fetterman's stance on immigration enforcement may not align with his party colleagues.

The senator expressed his discontent with the handling of the recent killings and demanded accountability, similar to when he criticized Mayorkas' tenure as DHS Secretary under President Biden. Fetterman believes both Noem and Mayorkas should be fired for their ineptitude in managing ICE operations.

Following Pretti's fatal encounter with ICE agents, outrage has grown across lawmakers who have voiced criticism over the agency's aggressive tactics in Minneapolis. While some lawmakers, such as Pennsylvania Senator Dave McCormick, called for a full investigation into the incident without directly criticizing ICE, Fetterman has taken a more forceful stance.

Fetterman proposed ending the operation in Minneapolis immediately but vowed not to support legislation that could cause a government shutdown. Senate Democrats have pledged not to fund DHS without new restrictions on immigration enforcement, which Fetterman supports.

It remains to be seen whether Trump will heed Fetterman's call and fire Noem from her position as DHS Secretary.

๐Ÿ˜• I gotta say, this whole situation with ICE agents in Minneapolis is totally messed up ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Two innocent people getting killed just doing their job? It's a total betrayal of trust ๐Ÿ’”. Fetterman's right to be mad and demand accountability ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ. Noem's gotta go if she can't keep her agency safe ๐Ÿ”ด. But, I'm not sure about the politics of it all ๐Ÿค. Trump's gonna do what he does best, probably just tweet about it and pretend like nothing happened ๐Ÿ’ฌ. Anyway, my concern is that these kinds of incidents happen more often than we realize ๐Ÿšจ. We need to get our immigration system in check ASAP ๐Ÿ’ช!

omg can u believe sen fetterman is calling for trump to fire kristi noem ๐Ÿคฏ like what a 180 lol how did he go from supporting her to trashing her in one fell swoop? anyhoo, this whole situation with the killings and ICE agents needs serious attention & accountability ๐Ÿ’” i'm all for holding those in power accountable for their actions, especially when it comes to something as sensitive as immigration enforcement ๐Ÿค

.. I don't think it's right that ICE agents would end up killing those 2 people just because they were watching what was going down... ๐Ÿค•๐Ÿ˜ก You'd think they're there to protect people, not hurt 'em! Fetterman's got a point, though - if Noem can't get it together to keep her employees in line, she shouldn't be in charge. I mean, I remember back when ICE was still relatively new, I thought they were the good guys too... but now? Not so much ๐Ÿ˜’

omg I'm so shocked by Senator Fettermans sudden change of heart ๐Ÿคฏ! He used to support Kristi Noem but now he's calling for her head over the ICE agents killing in Minneapolis ๐Ÿ˜” it's like, how could they let this happen?! ๐Ÿ™„ at least he's speaking out against the agency's actions and demanding accountability ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ I'm with him on this one!

๐Ÿค” I'm not buying it ๐Ÿ˜’. One minute Fetterman's all about border security, the next he's demanding Kristi Noem's head over two ICE agents getting killed. What's his angle here? Is this just a PR stunt to make himself look like a hero? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ And what about the fact that 7 Democratic senators voted to confirm her last year? Did they all suddenly develop second thoughts? ๐Ÿค”

I'm so down with John Fetterman for finally speaking out against the senseless killings by ICE agents in Minneapolis ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ”ซ It's about time someone from his own party is putting pressure on Noem to take responsibility for her department's actions. I mean, seven Democratic senators voting to confirm her cabinet appointment last year was already a red flag, but now it's clear that Fetterman wasn't buying what she was selling ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿšซ His stance on immigration enforcement might not be in line with his party colleagues, and honestly, who can blame him? ICE is like the Wild West out there, just waiting for someone to get caught up in their web of chaos ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Anyway, I'm rooting for Fetterman's move and hoping it sparks some real change within DHS ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿค” this whole thing got me thinking about how quickly we can change our minds on issues that were previously important to us... like, i used to think immigration enforcement was super crucial too, but now i'm not so sure... it's like we get new info and suddenly the truth hits us in the face and we gotta reevaluate ๐Ÿšจ

and what's crazy is how many people are willing to follow the party line just 'cause that's what's expected of them... fetterman used to be part of that crew, but now he's all like "nope, i'm good" ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ

anyway, it makes me wonder if we're more interested in being right than actually doing the right thing ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

this is so messed up ๐Ÿค•... the whole thing just doesn't seem right. i mean, killing people over immigration issues? it's just not how we're supposed to handle things in a civilized society. senator fetterman is trying to make a point here, but it's like, where do you draw the line? does that even exist anymore?

and what's with the party politics? i get that democrats are upset, but can't they at least try to find some common ground on this one? it's not like we're just going to ignore the fact that these people were killed because of ICE. we need to figure out a way to address this without, you know, shooting each other.

i don't think firing kristi noem would necessarily solve anything. wouldn't that just create more problems down the line? it's all so... complicated. and what about the rest of us who aren't in congress? how are we supposed to deal with this stuff when the people in charge can't even get their own act together?

I cant believe what's going on with ICE agents in Minneapolis ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜ฑ it's like something out of a bad movie where innocent ppl get gunned down by the authorities and nobody does anything about it ๐Ÿ˜”. I remember when I was younger, there was this one incident where some cops beat up a kid who wasn't doing anything wrong...it was all over the news and it sparked so much outrage back then ๐Ÿ“ฐ. Now, Fetterman's calling for Noem to be fired...I'm not sure if it'll make a difference or just more politics as usual ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I do know that we need some serious changes in our immigration policies, though...it can't be right that ppl have to live in fear of getting caught up in ICE operations ๐Ÿ’”. Maybe one day we'll get to the bottom of these incidents and see real change happen ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ.

๐Ÿค” I mean, come on... politicians are supposed to make unpopular decisions, but this is just ridiculous. Fetterman goes from supporting Noem to trashing her over two people getting killed by federal agents? It's like he's trying to prove a point or something. ๐Ÿ™„ And what's with all these Democrats calling for ICE's head? Can't they see that's gonna lead to chaos? ๐Ÿ”ฅ I'm starting to think some of them just want an excuse to be mad at Trump. ๐Ÿ˜’ Anyway, I hope Fetterman actually gets ahold of Trump and makes him take action, but I'm not holding my breath... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I'm like totally split on this ๐Ÿคฏ. On one hand, I think Fetterman is being super reasonable for demanding accountability and calling out Noem's failures ๐Ÿ™Œ. Those two guys who got killed by ICE agents deserved justice, you know? It's not right that they're just some random people caught in the crossfire ๐Ÿšซ.

But on the other hand, I'm also worried that Fetterman is being a bit too harsh and divisive ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Like, can't we all just get along over this stuff? And what about the rest of his party colleagues who voted to confirm Noem? Are they going to follow him down this rabbit hole ๐Ÿฐ?

I mean, I still think ICE needs some serious reforming ๐Ÿ’ช, but let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater, you know? We gotta find a balance between keeping our borders secure and treating people humanely ๐Ÿค. It's like, yeah, fire Noem if she's really that incompetent ๐Ÿšฎ, but let's also keep an open mind ๐Ÿค”.

Ugh, I'm just so conflicted right now ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. Can't we all just agree on one thing? ๐Ÿ™„

๐Ÿค” Can you imagine having to live in a city where the cops are more scary than the people they're supposed to protect? I mean, ICE agents showing up at people's homes and shooting them on sight? It's outrageous! ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ’ฅ We need real accountability, not just lip service. Fetterman is right to call for Noem's head - she's been failing at her job big time. And what's with the party switching? Are we really that divided on this issue? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Can't we all just agree that people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their immigration status? ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’–
