he's got dementia which makes him vulnerable on the roads and now his family is having to go through this stress because of it... Silver Alerts are a great initiative but we need more awareness and resources for people with dementia and their families. We should also be looking at why there aren't more senior-friendly transportation options out there

And what's the point of putting out an alert with such vague details, like him driving a Buick Century? That could be any old car on the road! 
I'm also not sure how reliable dementia sufferers are as drivers. Isn't it more practical for us to just check up on our elderly neighbors instead of relying on some mass alert system?
