Ugh, I'm so done with these overly scripted interviews . It's like they're trying too hard to make their subject out to be a "real person" but it comes across as super forced . The Klondike Kate title is pretty cool and all, but can't we just get some real questions asked here? Like, what's Ruby Ericson's plan for using her platform to support other female musicians or promote music education? And why do they have to mention the "Gold Rush entertainer" thing so much? It feels like a lazy attempt at adding depth to the article . Can't we just get some genuine conversation instead of this rehearsed, polished nonsense?
I'm not sure I agree that singing should be an escape from emotions... I mean, doesn't it make you feel even more real? Like, if you're too numb to cry, maybe your music isn't working . On the other hand, maybe that's exactly what we need - a healthy dose of escapism when life gets tough. But, at the same time, can't we use our art to really confront our problems instead of just dodging them?
