Soundgarden Promises 'Seattle-Centric' Performance at Rock Hall With Nancy Wilson, Mike McCready

Soundgarden's 2025 Rock Hall Induction: A Celebration of Seattle Roots and Legacy

The iconic grunge band Soundgarden is set to perform at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony next month, with a star-studded lineup that promises to honor their Pacific Northwest roots. The big night will see Heart's Nancy Wilson, Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, and Taylor Momsen of the Pretty Reckless join the band for an unforgettable performance.

According to drummer Matt Cameron, the goal was to keep the ceremony as "Seattle-centric" as possible, featuring musicians who were part of Soundgarden's early days. The decision was made in a nod to the city that gave the band its birth and nurtured their growth.

Kim Thayil, Soundgarden's guitarist, expressed his pride at being inducted into the Rock Hall, acknowledging that it will be a surreal experience. "It'll probably feel different an hour after it's concluded or the next week than it does upon initially hearing the announcement or now as we're preparing," he said.

However, Thayil believes that the recognition of Soundgarden's accomplishments comes with a deeper appreciation for the shared pride and enthusiasm among fans, family, and friends. "That changes the understanding entirely," he continued.

The ceremony also marks a bittersweet moment for the band, as they reflect on missing frontman Chris Cornell, who passed away in 2017 at 52 years old. Cameron described Cornell's love of artistic expression and his constant pursuit of new creative avenues, stating that "he would have really enjoyed this moment of recognition."

This year's ceremony promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Soundgarden's legacy, with a diverse lineup of musicians set to honor the band's contributions to rock music. With Nancy Wilson, Jerry Cantrell, Mike McCready, and Taylor Momsen joining them on stage, it's clear that the spirit of Seattle will be alive and well at the Rock Hall.

I'm thinkin' that all this fuss about Soundgarden gettin' inducted into the Rock Hall is a bit overrated πŸ€”. Don't get me wrong, they're a sick band and all, but I mean, it's just a hall of fame, right? It's not like they're doin' anything special or breakin' any new ground. They're just a product of the Seattle scene that spawned other iconic bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam 🎸. And let's be real, Chris Cornell's death was a tragedy, but it's been two years, you know? It's time to move on from all this nostalgia πŸ’”. I mean, what's next? A tribute concert for the '90s? Get over yourself, Rock Hall πŸ€‘

πŸ€” you know what's weird about being in your 40s? time just flies right? like one day i'm still playing video games with my friends from high school and the next thing i know we're all in our 30s lol πŸ™ƒ anyway, speaking of sounds good, have you ever noticed how some music just gets better with age? soundgarden's music is definitely one of those bands that has aged like a fine wine 🍷🎸

omg i'm so hyped for this 🀩 soundgarden is like the ultimate seattle band and to see them get inducted into the rock hall is just amazing! i mean its gonna feel weird performing with all these other big names but idk maybe its good for them to be inspired by nancy wilson and jerry cantrell and whatnot. and it wouldve been awesome if chris cornell could've seen this happen too πŸ˜” still proud of the band tho and cant wait to see them rock out at the ceremony!

😊 I'm literally hyped for this! It's amazing how Soundgarden's legacy is being celebrated in such a big way. You can feel the Pacific Northwest vibes radiating from this whole thing, it's like they're bringing the Rain City to the Rock Hall πŸŒ‚πŸ’₯ And, omg, having Taylor Momsen on stage with them? That's gonna be epic! πŸ’ƒ I'm also loving the nods to Chris Cornell's memory - he was an icon in every sense of the word. This whole thing just feels like a beautiful tribute to Soundgarden's impact on rock music πŸŽΈπŸ™Œ

😊 Soundgarden 2025 Rock Hall Induction is gonna be EPIC! 🀟 The fact that they're keepin' it super Seattle-centric is a total win πŸ† in my book, 'specially with all these amazing musicians comin' together to pay tribute πŸ™Œ. It's bittersweet for the band too, but I'm sure Chris Cornell's spirit will be lookin' down and smilin', know? πŸ‘

I mean, can you imagine Nancy Wilson, Jerry Cantrell, Mike McCready, and Taylor Momsen rockin' out on stage with Soundgarden? 🀯 It's gonna be a night to remember, fo sho! πŸŽ‰ And let's not forget Kim Thayil's words about the fans and friends - it's all about that shared pride and enthusiasm, you feel me? πŸ’–

Anyway, I'm hyped for this ceremony and can't wait to see what the band comes up with. It's gonna be a wild ride 🎒!

OMG this is gonna be epic 🀩! So glad they're keeping it Seattle-centric tho, gotta respect the city that birthed Soundgarden 😊. I mean, can you imagine any other place than the Pacific Northwest to celebrate their legacy? 🌳 It's like they're bringing the whole vibe back, from the rain to the music scene... it's gonna be lit πŸ”₯! And omg, Taylor Momsen is part of this lineup? πŸ’β€β™€οΈ That's so cool! I'm def gonna tune in and enjoy the celebration with all the other fans πŸŽ‰. Can't wait to see what the ceremony has in store for us πŸ€”

I'm so hyped for this! 🀩 Like, Soundgarden is an iconic band and their induction into the Rock Hall is super well-deserved. I love how they're keeping the ceremony "Seattle-centric" - it's gonna be so cool to see all these talented musicians coming together to celebrate the city that made them. And can we talk about Kim Thayil's words about fans, family, and friends being part of this recognition? πŸ’– It's like, Soundgarden's music has always been more than just the band itself, it's a connection to people who feel seen and heard. The ceremony is gonna be amazing, but what I'm most looking forward to is seeing how they'll honor Chris Cornell's legacy. He was an incredible talent and his memory will live on through their music.

I'm hyped for this induction ceremony! I mean, can you imagine performing alongside some of your musical heroes? It's a dream come true for any musician. But what I love most is how they're keeping it real by featuring local legends like Nancy Wilson and Jerry Cantrell. It's all about the roots, you know? Seattle will always be Soundgarden's backyard, and this ceremony is a testament to that. And let's not forget Kim Thayil's words - it's not just about them, but about how their music brought everyone together 🀘.

I don’t usually comment but I think its gonna be so cool to see all those legends perform together 🀩. I mean, Soundgarden was such a huge part of the grunge movement, and it’s amazing that they’re finally getting the recognition they deserve πŸ’₯. I grew up listening to their music with my mates, and we still jam out to songs like β€œBlack Hole Sun” to this day 🎸. It’s gonna be really emotional seeing them perform live again, especially considering Chris Cornell wasn’t there to see it himself πŸ˜”. But at the same time, it’s a great way to keep his memory alive, you know? And with all these other talented musicians joining in, I’m sure it’s gonna be an epic show 🀘!

I'm so hyped for this! It feels like just yesterday I was rocking out to "Black Hole Sun" with my dad, who used to play their album 'Badmotorfinger' all the time 🀟🎸. Now, seeing these legends perform live again, and knowing that Chris Cornell's legacy is being celebrated, gives me chills πŸ’”. The whole vibe of this induction ceremony feels like a big ol' family reunion, with so many talented musicians coming together to pay tribute to Soundgarden's impact on the music scene πŸŽΈπŸ‘«. And can we talk about how awesome it'll be to see Nancy Wilson and Jerry Cantrell join the band? Those ladies and gentlemen are rock royalty in my book πŸ‘‘πŸ€˜!

omg u guys soundgarden is literally making me emotional right now theyre doing it to celebrate their roots in seattle and i love how its so star-studded lol nancy wilson, alice in chains, pearl jam, taylor momsen... its gonna be a huge celebration! matt cameron said they wanted to keep the ceremony as seattle-centric as possible and kim thayil is literally so proud of this induction he feels like it will change the way people understand their music and legacy but its also bittersweet cuz theyre missing chris cornell who was just an amazing artist... anyway, cant wait for the ceremony!!! 🀩🎸πŸ”₯

🀘 this is so cool! its gonna be awesome to see soundgarden perform live again, especially with all those other legends on stage 🎸 nancy wilson, jerry cantrell, mike mccready... the list goes on! i wonder if they'll play some of their old hits like "black hole sun" or "fell on black days"? πŸ€” and its nice to see them giving props to chris cornell's memory too 😊 he was an incredible frontman and a true artist. i just hope they can celebrate without it feeling too bittersweet πŸŽ‰ its still surreal that we get to see soundgarden perform again after all these years πŸ’₯

I'm super hyped for Soundgarden's induction into the Rock Hall in 2025 🀘! It's awesome to see a celebration of their Seattle roots and legacy, especially with a lineup that features so many talented musicians from the Pacific Northwest. I mean, can you imagine Heart's Nancy Wilson and Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell rocking out on stage with Soundgarden? 🀩 It's going to be an epic performance! But what really gets me is how Matt Cameron wanted to keep the ceremony "Seattle-centric" – it's a beautiful tribute to the city that gave Soundgarden their start. I also love how Kim Thayil sees this as an opportunity for fans, family, and friends to come together in appreciation of the band's accomplishments. It's going to be a really special moment, especially with all the nostalgia and sentimentality that comes with it... unfortunately, it's bittersweet too, thinking about Chris Cornell not being there to experience it himself πŸ˜”.

This is going to be a fantastic tribute to Soundgarden's incredible legacy! It's amazing how the band has managed to bring together so many iconic Seattle musicians for this special performance 🀘. I love how Matt Cameron emphasized the importance of keeping the ceremony "Seattle-centric" – it really speaks to the city's role in shaping Soundgarden's sound and style.

It's also sweet that Kim Thayil is acknowledging the bittersweet nature of the induction, given Chris Cornell's passing. It just goes to show that the band's music will always be tied to his memory and artistic vision πŸ’”. With all these talented musicians coming together to celebrate Soundgarden's contributions to rock music, I can already imagine an epic performance that will leave the audience in awe 🎸!

🀘 I'm actually kinda surprised they didn't have any younger bands from Seattle perform with Soundgarden πŸ€”. Like, what about QueensrΓΏche or Green River? I mean, they all came out of the same scene as Soundgarden and are basically part of their legacy too 🎸. Not to say Taylor Momsen isn't talented or anything, but it feels like they're kind of representing a different era of Seattle rock altogether 😐. I guess it's cool that they're giving Heart's Nancy Wilson her due tho πŸ™...

Omg, I'm super stoked for Soundgarden's induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 🀩! It's gonna be so cool to see them perform with all those talented musicians πŸŽΈπŸ‘. I've always been a huge fan of Chris Cornell's voice - he was literally the king of grunge πŸ”₯. But it's also really beautiful to see how this induction is not just about him, but about the entire Soundgarden legacy and the city of Seattle that raised them πŸ’•. The fact that they're keeping the ceremony super Seattle-centric is a great nod to their roots 🌳. I'm also loving the lineup - Nancy Wilson, Jerry Cantrell, Mike McCready, and Taylor Momsen are all legends in their own right πŸ™Œ! Can't wait for this epic celebration of rock music 🀟

🀘 This is gonna be epic! I'm hyped for Soundgarden to get their due recognition in the Rock Hall πŸ™Œ The lineup with Nancy Wilson and Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell is fire πŸ”₯ And you know it's gonna feel surreal watching Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron take that stage, especially thinking about Chris Cornell not being there πŸ˜” But it's all about celebrating the music and the spirit of Seattle, so I'm stoked πŸŽ‰ Can't wait to see how they bring that energy to the ceremony! πŸ‘

🀘 gotta love how the Rock Hall is giving Soundgarden the recognition they deserve. Seattle's roots are so deep in music history and I'm stoked to see a bunch of legends from the city come together to celebrate Chris Cornell's legacy πŸ™ it's gonna be crazy to see the whole band perform live again, especially with the whole lineup they've got lined up - Nancy Wilson, Jerry Cantrell, Mike McCready... those guys are basically Soundgarden on stage without Chris 😒 and Taylor Momsen's energy is always infectious. gotta be a surreal moment for Kim Thayil too 🀯

I mean come on, another year and they're still celebrating Soundgarden 🀘 like it's 1994 or something. I'm not hating, but how many more times can we revisit the grunge era? It's starting to feel like nostalgia overload. What's next, a Pearl Jam reunion tour? 🎸 And don't even get me started on Chris Cornell - his passing was devastating, but we're still gonna put him in a Hall of Fame ceremony? Can't they just make it a memorial instead? πŸ˜”
