Spot the difference: Sony’s electric car gets a crossover version

Sony Honda Mobility Unveils the Crossover Edition of its Electric Sedan Afeela, Focus on AI-Powered Features

The Japanese tech giant has showcased a sleek and modern crossover version of its electric sedan, Afeela 1. The car boasts an impressive range of features that highlight Sony's focus on innovation and cutting-edge technology.

Production for the Afeela 1 is already underway in Ohio, with deliveries scheduled to begin later this year in California. Expansion to Arizona and Japan will follow in 2027. The vehicle, priced at $89,900, is a significant leap forward from its predecessor, the Vision-S SUV.

At the heart of Sony's vision lies an advanced AI-powered driving system that enhances mobility interactions through personalized natural dialogue. According to Izumi Kawanishi, president and COO of Sony Honda Mobility, this technology will "elevate" the Afeela experience, transforming it into a drive-less environment where passengers can relax and enjoy entertainment content.

This futuristic concept is further supported by Sony's partnership with Microsoft's OpenAI tech, which powers the onboard personal AI. The AI agent provides enhanced mobility interactions, allowing users to engage in personalized natural dialogue.

Powering the Afeela 1 is Qualcomm's Snapdragon Digital Chassis platform, a strategic collaboration between the two companies. This cutting-edge technology enables seamless connectivity and performance.

Sony Honda Mobility has also announced its PlayStation Remote Play experience will be integrated into the vehicle. Users can play their favorite games on the go using the DualSense controller and a good network connection, blurring the line between home console gaming and mobile entertainment.

While the Afeela 1 is certainly an innovative concept, some critics question the affordability of such advanced technology at $90,000. With major competitors like Lucid Air and Porsche Taycan already dominating the electric SUV market, Sony faces stiff competition in the premium segment.

Nonetheless, the potential for this revolutionary vehicle to disrupt the automotive industry cannot be ignored. With demo drives scheduled to take place later this year, Afeela 1 enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating their chance to experience this futuristic ride firsthand.

idk why they had to make it so expensive lol $90k is crazy for a car 🤑 but i guess the tech is worth it? i mean, being able to play ps games on the go while driving sounds like a dream come true 😴🎮 and the AI-powered features are super cool too. I've heard good things about qualcomm's snapdragon digital chassis platform, it seems so powerful 🤖. but yeah, competition from lucid air and porsche taycan is gonna be tough to beat. still, i'm hyped for the demo drives later this year 🎉

omg i just got a new gaming laptop 🤯 and it's literally changed my life lol i was playing some fortnite with my squad last night and we were all so salty 😡 but then someone pulled off that sick no-scope shot and we all died in like 2 seconds lol anyway, back to the car... $90k is still kinda steep for me 🤑 but i guess it's worth it if it means having a future-proof ride and can play ps5 games on the go 🎮 what do u guys think? should i just splurge and get one or am i being too impulsive 😅

🚗💻 I'm loving the sleek design of the Sony Honda Mobility's new crossover edition Afeela 1! The price point might be steep for some, but I think it's worth it for the advanced AI-powered features they're integrating into the car 🤖. The partnership with Microsoft's OpenAI tech is a game-changer and I'm excited to see how it enhances the overall driving experience 🌳. What really caught my eye though was the PlayStation Remote Play integration - who wouldn't want to play their fave games on the go? 🎮 But, I do wonder if they're pushing the limits too far with the price tag of $89,900 😬 still gonna have to wait and see how it all shakes out...

🚗💻 omg can u believe sony honda just dropped an electric sedan that's literally from the future 🤖! i mean the ai-powered driving system is straight fire 🔥 and the fact that it has playstation remote play built in? game changer for gamers on the go 🎮. but like, $90k is a pretty steep price tag even for a tech enthusiast like me 💸. still, i gotta say the Afeela 1 looks SICK 🔥 and can't wait to see what it's like in person 😎

omg I'm literally freaking out over this af what Sony Honda Mobility is doing with the Afeela 1!!! $90k for a car that can basically do your driving for you while you're chillin' and playing games on it?!?! that's like something straight out of a sci-fi movie 🚀💻 I need to get my hands on this thing ASAP and experience that AI-powered driving system for myself, sounds like total game changer 🔥

I'm low-key hyped about Sony's new Crossover Afeela 1 🤩! Those AI-powered features sound straight outta sci-fi - I mean, who wouldn't want a drive-less experience with personalized natural dialogue? 💬 The partnership with OpenAI is fire 🔥, and the integration of PlayStation Remote Play is a genius move. I can already imagine gaming on the go while cruising down the highway 😎. My only concern is that it's gonna break the bank - $89,900 is crazy expensive 🤑. Still, if they can make this tech accessible to more people, I'm all in 💸! The Afeela 1 is definitely gonna change the game in the electric SUV market 🚀.

I'm loving the sound of this new electric sedan, but $89,900 is a pretty penny 🤑. I mean, you're already paying that for a car and then there's all these extra AI features? It feels like Sony's trying to push the boundaries of tech rather than making it accessible to the masses 😊. Still, if they can make it work, I'd be down to try it out - who wouldn't want to play games on their car ride 🎮! The Snapdragon Digital Chassis platform sounds fancy though, hope that makes for a smooth ride 💨.

🤔 I think there's more to this story than meets the eye... $89,900 is a pretty steep price tag, and I'm wondering if Sony Honda Mobility is trying to distract us from something else 🤑. Maybe they're just using this fancy AI-powered tech to harvest our personal data? 📊 And what about that partnership with Microsoft's OpenAI tech? Could it be a Trojan horse for mass surveillance? 🤖 We should be watching our backs, folks... 😬

I gotta say, $90k is a pretty penny for an electric car lol 😂. I mean, I know it's got some fancy AI features and whatnot, but can we really justify that price tag? I'd rather see Sony focus on making the Afeela more affordable for regular folks who wanna upgrade their ride. Also, Remote Play integration sounds cool and all 🎮, but how often are you gonna be playing games on the go? Wouldn't it be better to have a console at home or something? And don't even get me started on the "Drive-less environment" - what if the AI system fails or gets hacked? Not exactly the kind of experience I'd want in my car 🤔.
