man... thinkin' about State Man's story is like lookin' at a mirror held up to our own lives

. One minute you're on top, winnin' Grade Ones left and right, and the next you're facin' the possibility of bein' done for the season because of somethin' out of your control. it's like, what even is 'winning'? Is it just about chasin' that feeling of success, or is there more to it than that?
i mean, think about all the prep and training that goes into bein' a champion horse... and then somethin' happens, like this tendon injury, and suddenly it's over. it's like we're reminded that even at the pinnacle of our achievements, we're still just as vulnerable to setbacks and disappointments as anyone else

.
anyway, feel bad for State Man, but also kinda impressed by Willie Mullins for keepin' a level head despite this tough news
