DePaul Prep Dominates Competition in High School Basketball Action

The high school basketball scene in Chicago was on full display on Sunday as a slew of top-notch teams clashed on the court. At the forefront of this action was DePaul Prep, which steamrolled its way to a 60-28 victory over Hyde Park.

But it wasn't just DePaul that put on a show. Simeon took down Manley with a convincing 81-51 win, while St. Ignatius pulled off an impressive 69-65 upset against Benet in the championship game of the De La Salle/St. Ignatius series.

The Hancock conference also saw its share of excitement, as St. Laurence edged out Richards 69-40 to claim the title. Evergreen Park and St. Rita also traded blows in a thrilling matchup that ultimately ended with a 69-67 win for the Panthers.

On the other side of the state, the Peoria area's Roundball Classic saw IMSA emerge victorious over Pekin by a margin of 57-48.

I'm not really sure why we're so focused on the high school basketball scene in Chicago right now 🤔. I mean, it's cool and all that but have you seen the state of our city's after-school programs? It's a real tragedy that there aren't more resources being funneled into providing kids with access to quality education and extracurricular activities 📚💼. DePaul Prep might be killing it on the court, but I'd rather see them investing in their community 🤝
