Local High School Basketball: A Winning Weekend in Chicago

A thrilling weekend of high school basketball saw several top teams emerge victorious on the court. At St. Ignatius, the Blue were no match for Loyola, as they fell short with a 57-70 loss.

On the other side of town, in the Rich neighborhood, Marshall proved to be too strong for Lindblom, taking home a hard-fought 69-65 win. Meanwhile, Phillips dominated their matchup against Payton, securing an impressive 67-52 victory.

However, several matchups were cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. The highly anticipated showdown between King and Leo was postponed, as well as the contest between Rich and Unity Christian, Perspectives-LT vs. Clark, Curie vs. Christ the King, Thornwood vs. Kenwood, and Hyde Park vs. Hillcrest.

For fans of local high school hoops, it's clear that this weekend marked a winning weekend for Chicago Catholic Blue and Marshall teams, but ultimately fell short for some in highly anticipated matchups.

I'm so hyped about the weekend's games! I think it's awesome how competitive all these teams are 🤩. You feel me? They're really upping their game this year. I was super bummed that some of those matches got cancelled, but I guess you can't control everything ⏰. King vs Leo is gonna be a thriller when they play, mark my words! 🎯

man, it's crazy how fast these kids can grow up 🤯 i remember watching the same St Ignatius team when they were just freshmen, now they're seniors and they got dominated by Loyola lol what's going on with that neighborhood Rich vs Lindblom game was super intense btw, I'm glad Marshall came out on top, but it would've been awesome to see that Rich-Unity Christian matchup 🤔

Ugh, I'm so done with these overhyped Chicago high school basketball games 🙄. Like, who cares if Loyola beat St. Ignatius or not? It's just a bunch of 17-year-olds running around on the court... zzz... And don't even get me started on how many matchups got cancelled because of scheduling conflicts - what a bummer 😔. I mean, can't they all just figure it out and play already?! 💁‍♀️ It seems like everyone's having a great time celebrating wins and losses, but honestly, it's all just so... predictable 🙃.

Just had to watch those highlight reels from St Ignatius game 🤯 Loyola's defense was on point! meanwhile, Rich neighborhood is straight fire 💪 got to catch the highlights from Marshall vs Lindblom too 👀 67-65 is a decent win... not sure what happened with King and Leo, gonna have to wait till next weekend for that one 😊
