Tate McRae Celebrates 'So Close to What' Deluxe With Trippy 'Nobody's Girl' Video

Tate McRae's Trippy 'Nobody's Girl' Video Captures the Pain of Love and Identity.

The Canadian singer-songwriter has unleashed a visually stunning video for her new single "Nobody's Girl," which is part of the deluxe edition of her album "So Close to What." The trippy visuals showcase McRae's emotional journey as she grapples with the difficulties of being invested in her career while navigating love.

The song opens with McRae singing into a retro camera, dressed as an angel with wings, but trapped in an underground cement room. Her image splits into a kaleidoscope of dancers, symbolizing her inner turmoil. The lyrics suggest that she's struggling to balance her desire for independence and self-love with the pressures of fame and relationships.

The video features McRae reflecting on the end of a relationship in a haunting bridge, where she sings about the pain of losing someone you love. She also explores themes of identity and self-discovery, asking herself what she wants out of life and how to use her music to change things.

The deluxe edition of "So Close to What" includes four new songs: "Trying on Shoes," "Anything but Love," "Nobody's Girl," and "Horseshoe." The additional tracks were added to the top of the original record, while a bonus track from a reissued edition was included at the end.

The release comes just a week after McRae wrapped up her 81-stop tour for the album. In an Instagram post announcing the deluxe version, she wrote, "We had a few more songs that I wanted to share with y'all to close out the SC2W era... I can't wait for you to hear." The title of the album, McRae explained earlier this year, stems from the idea of not being present at times and feeling like she's trying to control everything.

I'm loving Tate McRae's new video "Nobody's Girl" ๐Ÿคฉ it's so hauntingly beautiful, you can really feel the pain of love and identity in those trippy visuals ๐Ÿ˜” I think what resonates with me most is how relatable her struggles are to young people who are trying to navigate their passions and relationships. It's like she's speaking directly to us all, you know? ๐Ÿค— And I'm intrigued by how she explores themes of self-discovery in the song - it's like she's reflecting on what it means to be true to oneself amidst all the external pressures ๐ŸŒˆ What do you guys think about this new single and video? Should we talk more about how it makes us feel? ๐Ÿ’ฌ

OMG, Tate McRae is a GENIUS!!! ๐Ÿคฏ her new video for "Nobody's Girl" is SO trippy and emotional! I love how she showcases her pain and struggle with fame, relationships, and identity ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’–. The kaleidoscope part in the video is literally giving me LIFE! ๐Ÿ’ฅ I'm shipping Tate so hard right now ๐Ÿ™Œ and I need to listen to that song on repeat ASAP ๐ŸŽต๐Ÿ”. The deluxe edition of "So Close to What" has me SO hyped!!! ๐Ÿคฉ can't wait to dive into those new songs and explore more of Tate's soulful voice ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’–

the music industry is wild ๐Ÿคฏ, i mean what even is a "deluxe edition" anymore? it feels like they're just nickel and diming us with extra songs that are barely worth listening to ๐Ÿค‘ anyway, i love tate mcrae's message in this song, she's all about embracing her individuality and not letting the world define her vibe. and that music video? trippy af ๐Ÿ˜ it's like she's literally living out her lyrics. but seriously though, as an artist, shouldn't they be pushing boundaries and challenging us with their art instead of just re-releasing the same stuff with a few extra tracks ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

๐Ÿคฏ I love how Tate McRae is speaking her mind through her music! The trippy video for "Nobody's Girl" is literally giving me all the feels... it's like you can see herself stuck in this underground room, trying to figure out who she is and what she wants. ๐Ÿ’” The way she weaves together themes of love, identity, and self-discovery is so relatable ๐Ÿค I'm here for the new songs on the deluxe edition - "Trying on Shoes" sounds like a bop! ๐Ÿ‘ ๐ŸŽถ

omg i just watched this video and i'm literally shook ๐Ÿคฏ the visuals are so trippy and emotional it feels like tate is singing directly to my soul ๐ŸŒ™ i love how she explores themes of identity and self-discovery in her music, it's like she's trying to figure out who she is too ๐Ÿ˜‚ but what i love most about this song is that it's not just about her own struggles, it's also a reflection of all the people who are invested in her career and feel like they're losing themselves in the process ๐Ÿค anyway, can't wait to listen to the whole album again ๐Ÿ‘

I'm so nostalgic for that old VHS tape feel when watching music videos ๐Ÿ“บ. Remember when MTV used to play actual music vids 24/7? This new video by Tate McRae is trippy, but I kinda love how retro it feels. Like she's singing into a vintage camera and everything splits into this kaleidoscope of dancers... it's so Instagrammable ๐Ÿ˜‚. But seriously, her music always speaks to me on a deeper level. Reminds me of Alanis Morissette back in the day ๐Ÿ’–. I'm not sure what it is about her songs that just resonates with me, but "Nobody's Girl" has this haunting quality to it. Maybe it's because we've all been there, right? Feeling trapped and lost, trying to balance our desire for independence with... well, everything else ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ.
