The 10 most anticipated video games of 2026

"Climb to New Heights in Cairn"

For PC and PlayStation 5, the beautifully illustrated climbing game "Cairn" is set to challenge players with its realistic gameplay. Climber Aava must navigate treacherous terrain, using precision and strategy to place her hands and feet on ledges and camp out at night to recover. As in real-life climbing, mistakes are costly and injuries will have you bandaging your fingers before moving on.

Also coming this year is "Reanimal", a spine-tingling two-player animated horror game that's more gruesome than its predecessor Limbo. Players take turns exploring a twisted town, avoiding grotesque creatures and finding their missing friends along the way. While it may not be for everyone, this game promises to deliver a genuinely frightening experience.

Resident Evil Requiem is another highly anticipated title. This latest chapter in Capcom's horror series stars Grace, a bookworm who finds herself face-to-face with terrifying monsters on a perilous mission to uncover the truth behind Raccoon City's mysterious past.

On Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, Pokémon Pokopia promises to be a family-friendly gaming experience that combines elements of Animal Crossing and Minecraft. Players will take on the role of Ditto, a shape-shifting pink blob with magical powers, as they build habitats for beloved Pokémon characters and cultivate friendships in a vibrant town.

However, some gamers are eagerly awaiting something a little more action-packed: James Bond game "007 First Light". Released this April, it's been built from scratch by the makers of the Hitman series. Younger than his 00 counterpart, this young Bond navigates through Raccoon City and beyond to unravel conspiracies.

Next up is Saros, an intense sci-fi shooter set on a hostile planet where humans are dying off one by one due to an otherworldly illness. This time-looping action game promises to deliver a modern take on the classic arcade bullet-hell experience.

The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI has finally ended and fans are ready for this highly anticipated crime story that will feature Nintendo's first female protagonist, Lucia, in its story-driven narrative set against Rockstar's fictional Floridian state of Leonida. With GTA being an iconic brand since 2013, there's high expectations.

Last but not least, Marvel's Wolverine has taken over gaming consoles as well, featuring a full X-Men cast in the action-packed game about Wolverine fighting off numerous foes with his claws. The exact release date for this new iteration of the popular Marvel hero has yet to be announced.

Lastly, gamers are eagerly looking forward to Witchbrook, a charming pixel-art slice-of-life game that revolves around witches' college. Released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox, Witchbrook promises an unforgettable gaming experience in school and beyond with up to four players online at once.

Ugh, can't believe the layout of this website is still so annoying 🤯. Every article looks like a wall of text and it's hard to navigate between them. Can't we get some decent formatting here? Like, when I'm scrolling through and I see a title I want to read more about, it'd be great if it popped up or had a link to take me directly to the page. And what's with all these vague release dates? "This year" is not exactly helpful 🙄. Can we get some concrete dates or at least an estimate when we can expect to play these games? It's just so frustrating...

I'm really hyped for "Cairn" - it looks so realistic! I mean, who doesn't love a good challenge? But I also heard that "Reanimal" is going to be super scary... like, too scary 😱. Not sure if I'm ready for that just yet. On the other hand, "Pokopia" seems like so much fun! Building habitats and helping Pokémon friends sounds like a great way to spend time. And can we talk about James Bond? I love how they're making it younger than the usual Bond... refreshing change! 🕵️‍♂️

I'm intrigued by the upcoming games, but I need to fact-check some things 🤔. First of all, there's no release date mentioned for Marvel's Wolverine game yet... which is kinda worrying 😬. And what about the Nintendo Switch 2? When did it come out exactly? The article doesn't say, so is that a new console or just an updated one?

And I'm not sure about Resident Evil Requiem being set in Raccoon City again... didn't we already have a game with that name in 1996? Wasn't there a remake too in 2002? It's all getting confusing 🤯.

On the bright side, Pokémon Pokopia sounds like it could be a blast to play! Ditto is such an awesome Pokémon. I do hope they can deliver on the Animal Crossing and Minecraft vibes 💻.

Lastly, what's up with James Bond game "007 First Light" being built from scratch by Hitman series makers? That's a big claim... are we sure about this one? 🔍

🤔 think it's crazy how much content is coming out this year... so many games across different genres 🎮👀 what i really want to see is more indie titles getting some love 💕 too many big-name studios dominating the scene 🤑 but still excited for 007 First Light, Resident Evil Requiem and Witchbrook 😎

I'm so stoked for "Cairn"! I mean, who doesn't love climbing and exploring? 🏔️ It's like a real-life adventure game that you can play from the comfort of your own home 😅. I think it's awesome that they're adding more horror games like "Reanimal" and "Resident Evil Requiem". I'm a bit nervous to play them, but at the same time, I love a good scare every now and then 🎃.

On the other hand, some people are super excited for "Pokopia" because it's so family-friendly 🌈. It's like a mix of all your favorite childhood games rolled into one. And can we talk about James Bond? 🕵️‍♂️ I mean, who wouldn't want to be a secret agent saving the world?

But what's really got me hyped is "Saros". That game looks so intense and thrilling! The idea of a time-looping action game is just genius. And Grand Theft Auto VI? Forget about it! 🚗 It's like the ultimate crime drama. I'm excited to see how Rockstar does it.

I think what I love most about all these games is that they're pushing the boundaries of what gaming can be. From horror to family-friendly to action-packed, there's something for everyone. And let's not forget about the Marvel games 🦸‍♂️. It's like the ultimate superhero experience.

Overall, it's shaping up to be an amazing year for gamers!

I'm stoked about the upcoming games! 🤩 Cairn looks so intense - I can already imagine the thrilling gameplay. And Reanimal? That sounds like a wild ride 😱. Resident Evil Requiem has me hyped too, love a good horror game! 🎃 But what's up with Pokémon Pokopia? It seems kinda...meh 🤔. Maybe it'll grow on me? I'm not really feeling the James Bond vibe, though - I mean, I like 007 and all, but this younger Bond thing sounds too new-age for my taste 😐.

On a more exciting note, Saros looks like an absolute adrenaline rush 💥! Grand Theft Auto VI is going to be epic, no doubt about it. Marvel's Wolverine is also looking great, can't wait to play as the ol' claw-wielder 🤺♂️. And Witchbrook? That sounds adorable 😊. I'm excited to dive into all these games and see which ones are my faves!

I heard the new James Bond game is going to be lit 🎯🔫. I mean, a younger Bond navigating through Raccoon City sounds like so much fun. I'm hyped to see how it turns out compared to the Hitman series. Also, can't wait for Grand Theft Auto VI – Lucia as the protagonist is a nice touch 🤴♀️. That's some exciting news for gamers this year 💥

I'm hyped for the new games out this year 🤯! But let's be real, have you seen the state of Raccoon City? 😂 It's like a horror movie set in real life, I mean, who needs James Bond when you've got Resident Evil Requiem, right? 🎃 The sci-fi shooter Saros sounds like a blast from the past, but with a modern twist. And can we talk about Pokémon Pokopia for a sec? A shape-shifting pink blob as your main character? That's just weird... in a good way 😂. But seriously, I'm excited to see what all these games have in store for us! Bring on the gaming goodness 🎮

I just saw this thread is so dead 🤦‍♂️ but I gotta say, I'm hyped for "Reanimal" 😱. Horror games are my thing and Limbo was already crazy, can't wait to see what the devs came up with this time. Anyone else as excited?

OMG u guys I'm literally SO stoked for all these new games!!! 🤩 I've been waiting for Cairn to drop for ages and now it's finally coming out, I need to get my hands on that ASAP! 😂 I also super love the sound of Pokémon Pokopia, building habitats and friendships with Ditto sounds like so much fun 🎉. But like, can we talk about Resident Evil Requiem for a sec? Grace is my spirit animal 💁‍♀️ I've been waiting for this game to come out since 2019 and it's finally here! 🙌 James Bond game 007 First Light sounds so cool too, I need to get all the Bond games ASAP 🎭. And lastly, Grand Theft Auto VI is literally going to change my life 💸 GTA has been my favorite series for ages and now they're bringing out a new one with Lucia as the main character? yes pleeease 👯‍♀️

I'm so over these new games coming out this year 🙄. First off, Cairn is just too realistic for my taste - I mean who wants to play a game where one wrong move means you're bandaging your fingers? 😂 It's like they want us to feel like we're actually climbing, which is not exactly what I'm looking for in a gaming experience.

And don't even get me started on Reanimal... two-player animated horror game that's more gruesome than its predecessor Limbo? Sounds like a nightmare 😨. I mean, I like my horror games to be spooky but not this realistic. It's just too much.

I'm also really disappointed with the lack of creative freedom in Pokémon Pokopia 🤷‍♀️. It sounds like they're trying to copy Animal Crossing and Minecraft, which is so basic. Can't we get something new and innovative for once?

And what's up with James Bond being younger than his 00 counterpart? Is that even a thing? 🤔 And the release date of Saros just feels like another generic sci-fi shooter... I need something with more substance.

I mean, I know some people are hyped about Grand Theft Auto VI and Marvel's Wolverine, but for me it's just more of the same old thing. I want to see something fresh and exciting in a game. Witchbrook is the only one that even caught my attention, but now that I read the description... it sounds like just another generic slice-of-life game 🤷‍♀️.

the gaming industry is just getting more convoluted 🤯 - we've got "Climb to New Heights" which sounds like a way too realistic climbing game that might make me lose my appetite for gaming altogether... who needs that kind of stress in their life? 🙅‍♂️ and don't even get me started on the horror games like Reanimal, Resident Evil Requiem - those things just give me the heebie-jeebies 😨 and Pokémon Pokopia just seems like a watered-down Animal Crossing experience to me... where's the depth in that? 🤔

I FEEL LIKE "REANIMAL" IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN!!! I LOVE THE IDEA OF TWO-PLAYER ANIMATED HORROR GAME AND IT SOUNDS LIKE IT'S GONNA DELIVER THAT FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE 😱👻 THE TWISTED TOWN AND GROTESQUE CREATURES HAVE ME HYPED!

the new james bond game sounds kinda cool 🤔 i mean, who doesn't want to be a young 00 agent? but, i'm not sure if it's gonna live up to the hitman series standards 😐 the gameplay is supposed to be fast-paced and action-packed, which is nice, but we all know how that can go. still, the fact that they're building it from scratch by the same team that made hitman is a good sign 👍 and who knows, maybe this young bond character will bring a fresh perspective to the franchise 🤷‍♂️

"Ugh, another year of games that are literally going to give me grey hairs 🤯💀. But seriously though, I'm hyped for Cairn - who doesn't love a good climbing simulator? 😅 And Reanimal is like the opposite end of the spectrum, all creepy and horror-y... just what I need to cure my insomnia 💔. Resident Evil Requiem is next on my list too, been waiting for that since E3 last year 🤯. Pokémon Pokopia sounds adorable but let's be real, I'm only getting it because my inner child still loves playing with Pokémon 🎉. Anyone else excited for James Bond: 007 First Light? That one looks so cool 🕵️‍♂️. On the flip side, who needs action when you can have a relaxing Witchbrook experience? Maybe this is the year I finally take a break from gaming and just watch paint dry 🎨."

I'm so hyped for Cairn! I've been playing it nonstop since its beta testing and the realistic gameplay is insane 😲. It's like you're actually climbing mountains, feeling the rush of adrenaline when you make it to the top. The graphics are stunning too, really immersive. On the other hand, Reanimal sounds super intense 🤯, I'm a bit nervous about playing it with my friends but at the same time excited to see what kind of scares they can deliver. I'm also super curious about Resident Evil Requiem, I love the series and I've heard great things about this one. The Pokémon game Pokopia looks like so much fun 🎉, building habitats for all those cute Pokémon is definitely something I'd enjoy doing. And 007 First Light? 😎 I'm a huge Bond fan, can't wait to see James Bond in action on PC and PlayStation 5!

OMG, I'm so stoked for "Cairn" 🤩! The climbing gameplay looks so intense and realistic - I can already imagine myself getting really frustrated when my character messes up 😂. But seriously, it's awesome that the devs are going for a super challenging experience.

I'm also low-key excited for "Reanimal"... like, who doesn't love a good scary game? 🎃 But what's up with the twisted town setting? Sounds so creepy! And I need to know more about Resident Evil Requiem - that Grace character sounds interesting... maybe she'll be like Hermione Granger but with a zombie-killing twist 😂.

Pokopia on Nintendo Switch 2 looks adorable, though! Who wouldn't want to build habitats for Pokémon and hang out with Ditto? 🐰👫 And can we talk about how awesome the new James Bond game is? "007 First Light" - I'm literally counting down until April 💥.

But what's really got me hyped is Grand Theft Auto VI 🚗💪. It's been ages since we've seen a new GTA game, and with Lucia as the protagonist... this could be something special! Fingers crossed for a 2025 release!

Lastly, Marvel's Wolverine looks like an absolute blast 💥👊. I'm so down to play through the story with all my favorite X-Men characters... can't wait until it drops!

🚫 I'm not feeling the hype for Reanimal yet 🙅‍♂️. Horror games can be super intense and might be too much for some people's comfort levels... I mean, I love a good scare as much as the next gamer, but I don't want to play something that's gonna leave me with nightmares 💤. Maybe it'll grow on me though? 🤔
