‘The Gymnast,’ Starring Ethan Embry and Britney Wheeler, Acquired by Visit Films Ahead of Rotterdam World Premiere (EXCLUSIVE)

Visit Films has secured worldwide sales rights for "The Gymnast," a US film starring Ethan Embry, Britney Wheeler, and Margarita Levieva, set to premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam's Tiger Competition. The movie follows 16-year-old gymnast Monica and her single father as they navigate their way through a devastated former mill-town after Monica suffers a potentially career-ending injury.

Written and directed by Charlotte Glynn, the film has been part of several prestigious programs, including Sundance's Catalyst Program and IFP Week's Project Forum. The director has received recognition for her work, being named one of "25 New Faces in Independent Film" by Filmmaker Magazine and awarded residencies at Yaddo and the Berlinale Talents.

Glynn's passion project has taken a decade to come to fruition, with her citing the struggle of loss and reinvention as a driving force behind the film. Visit Films' president Ryan Kampe praises "The Gymnast" for its universal themes, saying that Glynn has skillfully depicted the pressure and ambition involved in elite competition as well as the consequences that can arise when goals and dreams are altered.

Produced by Ricky Tollman and Luke Spears, with executive producers including Randy Manis and David Thion, the film boasts a talented cast. "The Gymnast" is set to screen at both the European Film Market in Berlin and Rotterdam.

🎥 just watched the trailer for 'The Gymnast' and I'm already hooked! It looks so emotional and intense - Ethan Embry's character seems like a total overprotective dad 🤦‍♂️, while Monica (Britney Wheeler) is all about that competitive fire 🔥. The cinematography looks stunning, too - I love how they captured the desolate mill-town setting 🌫️. Can't wait to see more of this film and learn about Charlotte Glynn's process behind it. She seems like a super talented director, and I'm excited to watch her shine! 💫

I heard this movie is about a gymnast who goes down hard, literally 🤦‍♀️! I mean, 16 years old? That's like me trying to balance on one leg while singing a solo – ain't gonna happen 😂! But seriously, I love that the director, Charlotte Glynn, put her heart and soul into this project. It's all about navigating life's ups and downs after a setback (or in this case, a major injury 🤕). The fact that it's part of some fancy film programs is cool, but let's be real, the real star is Ethan Embry's hair – it's looking fly for 45! 💇‍♂️

I'm intrigued by this film, gotta say 🤔. The struggle of loss and reinvention is something we can all relate to, you know? It's not just about gymnastics or sports; it's about how we cope with setbacks and find a way forward. I think that's what makes "The Gymnast" so compelling – it tackles real emotions and experiences in a way that feels authentic. The fact that the director, Charlotte Glynn, has put her heart and soul into this project for over a decade really shows, doesn't it? 💕 It's not just about making a film; it's about sharing her vision with the world and hopefully inspiring others to do the same. I'm excited to see how "The Gymnast" will be received by audiences! 👍

🤔 I'm loving this new US drama about a young gymnast struggling to come back from a major injury! 🏋️‍♀️ It's so inspiring to see how the director, Charlotte Glynn, poured her heart and soul into making this film after years of hard work. The fact that it's been part of some amazing programs like Sundance and Berlinale Talents is a testament to her talent. I'm also loving the cast, especially Ethan Embry and Britney Wheeler - they're going to bring so much depth to their characters! 🎥 Can't wait to see this movie on the big screen at Rotterdam's Tiger Competition 😍

I'm low-key excited about this new movie "The Gymnast" 🤸‍♀️! It sounds like a real emotional rollercoaster, especially with that injury plot twist... I mean, 16 is way too young to be dealing with all that pressure 😩. The fact that it's been in some cool film festivals already is dope... I've heard good things about Charlotte Glynn's directing style 🤝. Ethan Embry is a talented dude, and the supporting cast looks fire 💥. Can't wait to see how it plays out at Rotterdam! 👉 https://www.filmindependent.org/films/the-gymnast

I'm low-key obsessed with this new film "The Gymnast". I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a movie about a 16-yr-old gymnast trying to navigate her way through a devastated town? It sounds soooo relatable 🤷‍♀️. The fact that it's been part of some major programs like Sundance and Berlinale is already giving me life 💥. And the director, Charlotte Glynn, seems super talented - I love when directors are passionate about their projects and pour their heart into them ❤️. Plus, the cast sounds amazing 🤩. I'm def gonna be keeping an eye on this one 👀.

omg have you seen any of charlotte glynn's other movies 🤔 i heard she has an amazing eye for storytelling and her passion project really shows 💕 this film about a young gymnast struggling to come to terms with her injury is so relatable, it's like the movie 'the book thief' but with gymnastics instead of WWII 🏋️‍♀️ i'm super excited to see how she handles the pressure of elite competition and how that affects the protagonist's life... maybe visit films got a good deal on this one? 💸

OMG, I'm SO hyped for this movie!!! 🤩 It sounds like such an emotional rollercoaster, but I love how it tackles universal themes like pressure and ambition - everyone can relate to that! 🤝 And Ethan Embry is a total dream lead, I've loved him in all the movies he's been in. 🎥 Can't wait to see Margarita Levieva shine too, she's always so talented 🌟 Visually, I imagine it's gonna be SO beautiful and intense, especially since Glynn has had time to perfect her craft - that decade of struggle must've paid off big time 💪

omg i'm so stoked about this new film 🤩!!! it's like gymnastics meets real life struggles and that's exactly what i want to see on screen. monica's story is so relatable, you feel for her and her dad, they're going through something no kid should ever have to go thru 😔. charlotte glynn's got some serious skills behind the camera too, all those prestigious programs she's been a part of, that's impressive 🤓. can't wait to see ethan embry and britney wheeler bring this story to life on screen 💪

Ugh 🤦‍♀️, another film that's all about how hard it is for kids to balance school/sports/parenting life and how devastating it is when you're injured 😩... Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's a great story and all, but can't we just have a break from the "struggling teenager" trope already? 🙄 It's been done before in every single teen drama film/TV show ever made. The only thing that's different here is the gymnastics part 🤸‍♀️... I mean, who doesn't love a good underdog story, but can't we have some originality for once? 🤔 And what's with all these awards and festivals already?! It feels like no one gets recognized unless they've been nominated for something. It's just so formulaic 🎥💸

🤣 I'm so excited for this movie 🎥, not because it's going to be some Oscar-bait masterpiece or whatever 🙄, but because it's about a teenager with an injury who gets to go through all the drama of being a high school athlete 🤦‍♀️. Like, I've never seen that before... ever 🙃. On a serious note though, I love that the director, Charlotte Glynn, has been through so much and it shows in her work. It's like she poured her heart out onto the screen 💔. And the cast? Who doesn't love Ethan Embry? 🤣 Okay, okay, I know, he's not exactly the next Brad Pitt, but still 🙄. Anyway, can't wait to see how this film turns out!

I'm so hyped for this movie! 🤩 It's about overcoming struggles and finding new paths after getting hurt which I think is really inspiring. I love that it's got a strong female lead and her relationship with her dad is so sweet. The fact that the director, Charlotte Glynn, has been part of some super cool programs shows how passionate she is about telling this story. It's not just about gymnastics, it's about perseverance and adapting to change 🌈💪

omg I love how this movie sounds so emotional & intense! the fact that it took 10 years for this director to make her passion project into reality is already giving me life 🤩. i can totally see why she's been part of all those prestigious programs - her dedication to telling these relatable stories about overcoming struggles is really admirable. and cast-wise, ethan embry as a single dad? yes please! 😍 can't wait to see how the movie handles that super vulnerable storyline
