Tool helps determine how much money you can save by driving an EV

Electric Vehicle Savings Calculator Hits the Road

A new tool has rolled out to help prospective electric vehicle owners gauge the financial benefits of making the switch. According to Josh Boone, executive director for Veloz, the industry group behind the initiative, "the number one thing on people's minds today is, how can I save money?".

For many considering an EV, the potential cost savings are a major draw. By driving an electric vehicle, drivers can reportedly save around $2,000 annually on gas costs - that's approximately $166 per month. However, these savings depend significantly on the driver's annual mileage and local fuel prices.

The Veloz team has created an interactive calculator on their website, ElectricForAll.org, to help users estimate their potential fuel savings. Simply inputting information about the desired EV model, annual driving distance, current gas vehicle's miles per gallon, local fuel costs, and zip code provides a personalized estimate of annual savings.

What's also worth noting is that electric vehicles tend to require less maintenance overall, thanks to their reduced number of moving parts. According to Boone, this means fewer oil changes, spark plug replacements, and tune-ups - all contributing factors in lower long-term vehicle upkeep costs.

While the calculator won't provide a definitive answer for every individual, it offers a useful starting point for those weighing the pros and cons of electric vehicle ownership.

I'm all about saving some $$$ πŸ’Έ! This EV savings calculator is super helpful, especially when you're thinking of switching to an electric ride πŸš€. I mean, who doesn't want to save around $2k a year on gas costs? That's like, a whole lotta cash! πŸ€‘ However, it's also important to consider the maintenance aspect – electric vehicles tend to require less upkeep, which is a win-win! πŸ‘ The calculator might not give you an exact answer for every individual, but it's a great starting point. I'm definitely gonna check it out and see how much I can save... time to crunch some numbers πŸ“Š

I'm kinda curious about this new EV savings calculator thingy πŸ€”. Like, $2k a year in gas savings sounds like a no-brainer, but what about the initial purchase price? That's still gotta be a pretty big chunk of change πŸ’Έ. And I guess it also depends on how much you drive each month... 166 bucks is nothing to sneeze at, though πŸ˜….

I love that they created an interactive calculator, tho πŸ€“. It makes it way more accessible for people who are just starting to consider switching to an EV. Plus, the fact that electric vehicles require less maintenance is a big plus πŸ‘. I mean, who doesn't want to save on oil changes and tune-ups? πŸ’ͺ

I JUST LOVE THIS NEW TOOL!!! IT'S SO USEFUL FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE CONSIDERING GETTING AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE! THE FACT THAT YOU CAN ESTIMATE YOUR SAVINGS IS SO HELPFUL, AND I MEAN $166 PER MONTH IS A LOT OF MONEY!!! PLUS, WITH LESS MAINTENANCE REQUIRED, IT'S JUST EASIER ON THE WALLET IN THE LONG RUN πŸ˜ŠπŸ’Έ

I'm not sure if this calculator is gonna make EVs look like an even more attractive option... savings are definitely a big draw but we gotta consider other factors too πŸ€‘ I mean, some people might be driving like 20k miles a year and those gas costs add up super fast 😬. And what about charging costs? that's another thing to factor in πŸ’Έ plus the cost of a new charger isn't exactly cheap either πŸš€

OMG I just found this tool 🀩 ElectricForAll.org and it's literally so cool! I was thinking of getting an EV but wasn't sure if it'd be worth it, now I have a good idea πŸ˜… The calculator takes into account how far you drive per year and where you live, which is super helpful. I've got a friend who drives 20k miles a year and they said the savings are like $1,000 annually πŸ€‘. Plus less oil changes means fewer trips to the mechanic πŸ™Œ. Anyone else thinking of making the switch? πŸ’‘

I think its gonna be huge for eco-friendly folks who wanna save some cash πŸ“ˆπŸ’Έ. Did you know that EVs can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 70% compared to traditional cars? 🌎 That's a pretty sweet deal!

Here are the stats:

* US residents can save around $2,000 per year on gas costs, which translates to $166/month πŸ’Έ
* The cost of electricity is decreasing, with some states offering discounts for EV owners πŸ“‰
* EVs require less maintenance, with fewer oil changes and tune-ups πŸ€–

I've checked out the calculator on ElectricForAll.org and it's pretty user-friendly. They even offer a range of models to choose from! πŸš€

omg u guys electric vehicles r literally changing the game πŸ’š! i mean think about it - no more draining ur wallet on gas every month πŸ€‘. the savings alone are insane, but its not just that. ive been using a hybrid for years now and i can def say i save like 50% on maintenance compared to my old gas guzzler πŸ’ͺ. and have u seen the calculator? genius! it makes it so easy to estimate those potential savings πŸ“Š. plus, we all know electric vehicles r way better for ur environment 🌎. its about time more people consider making the switch...

omg u guys! i'm literally so hyped about this new EV savings calculator πŸš€πŸ’Έ it's like, exactly what we need to make switching to eco-friendly rides a lil more accessible 😊 thinkin bout buyin an ev for years now but hesitated cuz of the upfront costs... now i can finally crunch some numbers and see how much i'd be savin πŸ€‘ it's like, $2k/year is a small price to pay for the planet πŸŒŽπŸ’š plus the maintenance thing? game changer! fewer oil changes means more money in my pocket πŸ’Έ

ugh I cant believe I have to spend even more money on new cars lol like who needs that extra 166 bucks every month anyway? but seriously though, $2k is still a decent chunk of change, idk how much i'd save with an ev but maybe its worth it for the environment

😊 I mean, can you blame people for wanting to save that kinda cash? $2k a year is a nice chunk change, no doubt about it πŸ’Έ. And think about all the other benefits EVs come with - lower emissions, quieter rides, and less wear and tear on the ol' vehicle πŸš—πŸ’¨. Plus, maintenance costs are a major plus (no pun intended). I'm not saying every single person's mileage and local fuel prices will be exactly the same, but this calculator seems like a solid starting point for anyone considering making the switch πŸ“Š. It's all about weighing your options, you know?
