UK launches critical minerals strategy to reduce dependency on China

I'm not convinced about the UK's plan to boost its domestic lithium and tungsten mining... £50m seems like a decent start but how much of that money will actually go towards actual mining operations vs just administrative costs? 🤔 Also, what makes them think they can increase production by 2035? Cornwell has some major environmental concerns with mining so have they considered those in their calculations? And how does this plan impact the rest of Europe? Will it just lead to a bigger arms race between countries trying to secure critical minerals or is there real thought going into sustainability? 🌎
