I'm not sure why a special beer needs to celebrate America's 250th birthday... seems like overkill to me. Is this really what we need to commemorate such an event? A limited-edition ale? Can't we just, like, have a BBQ or something?
And what's up with the can art? I mean, I love history and all, but is it really necessary to put Benjamin Franklin on beer cans? And Gimbels store shelves? It feels like they're trying too hard to be " Philly"...
Also, 16-ounce cans? That sounds like a lot of waste to me. Can't they just bottle this stuff or something?
I'm not saying I won't try the beer, but I do need some convincing that it's worth all the hype... and can I get a source on how much these beers are gonna cost?!
omg u guys i just heard about this new beer from victory brewing and it sounds sooo good!!! they're releasing a limited edition ale in honor of americas 250th birthday and its got tropical fruit flavors?? thats my kinda vibe. i wonder how much it'll cost tho. and can we talk about the label art? benjamin franklins library is on there what a cool nod to philly's history. i need to try this beer ASAP! does anyone know if its available in ny yet??
I mean, who wouldn't want to shell out extra cash for a beer just because it's America's birthday? I'm sure it'll sell out fast, especially since it's being released at all the trendy taprooms and boutiques. It's not like regular beer drinkers will be left in the dust... again. The can art is pretty cool, I guess - I love how they included nods to Philly's history. Who doesn't love a good Benjamin Franklin reference?
