Video shows moment man throws yogurt on two women in Iran | CNN

In shocking footage obtained by CNN, a man in an Iranian city can be seen targeting two unveiled women at a local store. The incident took place at Shandiz market, where the woman, who remains unidentified, had walked into a shop without adhering to Iran's strict dress code. The suspect approached her and grabbed a tub of yogurt from the shelf before unleashing a vicious attack, covering both women in the dairy product.

The video shows the moment of impact as the yogurt splattered against the two victims, leaving them stunned onlookers. The staff member who intervened quickly removed the perpetrator from the scene, bringing an end to what appears to be a racially charged and violent outburst. Unfortunately, details about what exactly was said before the confrontation are unclear.

The incident raises questions about Iran's strict laws governing modesty and freedom of expression in public spaces. Many have expressed outrage over this latest attack, highlighting concerns that women living in Iranian cities continue to face increasing pressure to conform to societal expectations.

omg this is so messed up 🤯 i mean what even is the deal with iran's laws on dress code? it's like they're trying to suffocate the girls there or something. and can you believe someone would actually do that to two women just because they were being "unmodest" 🙄 newsflash: freedom of expression is a thing too, not just for men! i feel so bad for these two ladies, poor them 😷 i hope they're okay after that crazy yogurt attack 🤢

omg this is like so not okay 😱 I feel bad for those 2 girls they just wanted a tub of yogurt lol and now they're all covered in it 🤣 but seriously tho the fact that someone got violent over some chick walking into a store without a hijab is wild. like how much stress must those women deal with every day? constant scrutiny and pressure to fit in, it's exhausting 💆‍♀️ and can we talk about how ridiculous Iran's dress code laws are? who gets to decide what's modest anyway 🙄 I'm just glad no one was seriously hurt, but it's clear that this is a symptom of a bigger problem. we need to keep raising awareness and supporting women's rights around the world 💪

idk how i feel about this... 😕 on one hand, it's totally unacceptable that someone would resort to violence like that just 'cause these two girls weren't wearing a hijab 🙄. like, what even is the point of that? they're not hurting anyone, just shopping for yogurt or whatever. and on the other hand, i get why iran has all these laws about modesty - it's their culture, right? but at the same time, isn't freedom of expression kinda a big deal too? like shouldn't people be able to wear what they want without getting attacked 🤔? ugh, i don't know... maybe i'm just not seeing the whole picture here 📸.

Ugh, what a mess 🤯! I mean, I'm all for people respecting each other's choices but this is just ridiculous. A tub of yogurt? Really? It's not like it was some kind of powerful attack. And the fact that these women were even targeted because they didn't wear a headscarf is just unacceptable 😒. Iran's laws are crazy and this just shows how enforced or not, they're still affecting people's lives in extreme ways. I get that modesty is important but at what cost? These women should be able to walk around without fear of being attacked or judged. It's just basic human rights, you know? 🤷‍♀️

omg u cant even believe this is happening in 2025!!! 🤯 i mean what kind of world are we living in where a guy can just go around attacking ppl for not covering their hair???! the footage is insane, like who does that? and the fact that it happened at a market, where people should be able to shop without fear of being attacked, is just so messed up. i feel for these 2 women, they're lucky someone stepped in when they did or god knows what could've happened to them.

and lets talk about iran's dress code laws, like whats the point of even having them? are ppl really that uptight? cant a woman walk into a store without being judged and attacked just cuz she's wearing something thats not a burqa?? i mean im all for respect for cultural norms and traditions, but come on, theres a fine line between respecting someone elses customs and oppressing them.

anyway, this incident has got me so angry and frustrated, like how can we even talk about freedom of expression when ppl are still being attacked and harassed just cuz they're expressing themselves in their own way? 🤬

🤔 I'm really worried about these incidents happening in places like Iran where there are already so many restrictions on what you can and can't do. It's not just the dress code thing, it's like they're trying to control every aspect of people's lives. And now this guy goes around attacking women who aren't even doing anything wrong? 🤷‍♀️ It's just crazy. I don't get why some people think it's okay to suppress people's freedom just because it fits their own cultural or religious ideals. And what really gets me is that the staff member had to intervene like a superhero to stop this guy... it's just not right. We need to find ways to promote understanding and acceptance, not just punish people for being different. 😒

Ugh, this is wild 🤯, I mean, I've seen some crazy stuff online, but this is just ridiculous 😂. Like, what's the deal with Iran's dress code laws? Are they really that strict or are people just trolling us to see how far we'll go 🤔? And honestly, can't a girl even walk into a store without getting harassed? I get that modesty is important, but at what cost, right? It feels like women in Iran are being held back and it's not cool 😒. And what about freedom of expression? Shouldn't people be able to wear whatever they want without fear of judgment or violence? 🤷‍♀️ This whole situation just feels so frustrating 🙄.

I'm seriously worried about these unveiled women being targeted like this 🤯. It just goes to show how much Iran's strict dress code is affecting people's daily lives and freedom of expression. I mean, who gets to decide what a woman should or shouldn't wear? It's not right that someone can get away with attacking two women over a tube of yogurt! The fact that the suspect was removed from the scene quickly is good news, but it doesn't change the fact that this kind of thing has happened before and will probably happen again. We need to think about how we can support these women and create a more inclusive society where everyone feels safe and respected ❤️.

Ugh, this is so messed up 🤯... I mean, what's with the dress code, right? It's like, can't they just chill? And this guy, he's totally overreacting 😂. But seriously, it's a scary situation for those two women, and I feel bad that they had to go through that. The fact that someone would resort to violence because of something as ridiculous as dress code is just sad 🤕. And what's the point of having laws if people are just gonna break them or react so violently? It's like, can't we all just get along and respect each other's choices? 🤝
