Vin Diesel Praises Dwayne Johnson Partnership and ‘Smashing Machine’ Performance After Squashing Feud: ‘He Shined Doing It’

In a rare display of mutual respect, Vin Diesel has extended an olive branch to his former feud partner Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The Fast and Furious duo's long-standing beef appears to have finally fizzled out as Diesel expressed his admiration for Johnson's performance in The Smashing Machine.

Diesel took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of himself and Johnson on set, accompanied by a heartfelt caption praising Johnson's contribution to the franchise and his outstanding portrayal of Mark Kerr. "One of the greatest gifts in life isn't something you can buy, it's the relationships forged along the way," Diesel wrote, highlighting Johnson's impact on his career.

The sentiment is a marked departure from their infamous feud, which played out on social media and even made its way to Men's Health last year. According to Diesel, he had to "tough love" The Rock into giving a strong performance as Hobbs in Fast & Furious 6, pushing the actor to step outside his comfort zone.

However, it seems that Johnson has finally returned the favor. In a surprise move, Johnson made a mid-credits appearance in Fast X, effectively ending their beef and rekindling their on-screen partnership. The two stars have since reunited at high-profile events like the 2025 Golden Globes.

Diesel concluded his Instagram post by acknowledging Johnson's remarkable performance in The Smashing Machine, stating that "he shined doing it." With their feud officially squashed, it will be interesting to see how the two actors continue to collaborate on future projects – particularly if Fast X gets off the ground.

I'm so glad to see Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson putting their differences aside 🙏! It's been a wild ride watching them go at each other online, but now it looks like they've both grown up and learned from each other 💪. I mean, who wouldn't want to work with someone as talented as The Rock? 🤯 Vin's words about the importance of those relationships on set are really sweet, too – it just goes to show that even in a competitive industry, you can still find people who have your back ❤️. Now, let's see how this newfound respect translates into more epic movies together 💥!

awww its so sweet to see Vin & Dwayne making amends 🤗💕 they had such a big beef back in the day but it seems like they've both grown up and realized what's really important - their friendship & the work they do together 🎬💪 i'm loving how respectful they're being about each other now, no more trash talk on social media 🙅‍♂️👍 Vin is right, relationships are everything in life, not just about the fame or fortune 💯

I'm so glad to hear Vin and Dwayne have finally buried the hatchet 🙌🏻🎬. Their rivalry was getting pretty intense last year, I don't know who's more surprised that it ended now - me or them! 😂 Either way, their respect for each other is definitely genuine and it shows in how they've moved forward from their feud.

It's actually kinda cool to see Vin give credit where credit is due and acknowledge The Rock's talent. And that throwback pic of them on set is super nostalgic 💕. I'm curious to see what their next collaboration will be - hopefully we get more of the Fast & Furious franchise with both of them together 🚗💨.

😊 I'm so glad to see Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson making amends after all that drama! Their feud was getting pretty intense, and it's awesome that they've put their differences aside. I love how Diesel gave a shoutout to The Rock's amazing performance in The Smashing Machine - it's clear he respects his co-star's craft. 🤝 It's also cool to see them reuniting at events like the Golden Globes. Now, I'm curious to see what they'll work on together next... maybe something new with Fast X? 🎬 Fingers crossed!

I'm glad to see Vin and Dwayne putting their differences aside. It's not every day you see a Hollywood feud come to an end like this 🙌. I think it's awesome that Vin is giving The Rock props for his performance in The Smashing Machine - he totally deserved it! 💪 And let's be real, who doesn't love a good redemption story? 😊 Now we just gotta wait and see if their on-screen partnership can translate to future films... fingers crossed for Fast X! 🎥

😂🤩 Oh man, Vin Diesel and The Rock are like two old friends making up after a crazy fight... kinda like my grandma and her ex-husband, but without all the grey hair 💁‍♀️👴! Anyway, I'm happy to see them moving forward together. I mean, who wouldn't want to see Fast and Furious again? It's like the cinematic equivalent of a warm hug 🤗... even if it is a bit like watching your parents arguing in slow motion 😅. On a serious note, Vin Diesel showing some love for Dwayne Johnson's performance in The Smashing Machine is super cool. I guess you could say their feud was just a "Fast" way to blow off steam (get it? Fast... haha).

OMG, you know what's wild 🤯? I was watching an old video of me trying to cook ramen noodles for the first time and it was SO BAD 😂 I had like, 5 cups of water and ended up with a bowl of soup... not exactly what I intended. Anyway, back to Vin and The Rock - they seem so nice together 🤝, but have you tried cooking instant noodles? Game changer 🔥.

I love how these 2 guys have put their differences aside and are moving forward 🤝💪 It's all about respect and admiration now, which is awesome to see! I mean, who doesn't want to support your friends and colleagues in their endeavors? Vin Diesel giving The Rock a shoutout like that is super classy. And can you imagine how epic it'll be if they work together again on Fast X? 🚀🔥 Johnson's performance in The Smashing Machine sounds incredible too. I guess when you find someone who gets you, you gotta nurture those relationships and not let egos get in the way 💕. It's all about growth and moving forward as people! 👍

lol what a turnaround for Vin and Rock 🤣 guess all that beef was just drama 💁‍♂️ anyway its dope to see them moving forward in a positive way, hope they can make some magic happen again with F&F 🚗💥

🤝 so this is wild, I was low-key rooting for these two to make amends lol. Vin and The Rock have been going at it for years, but at the end of the day, they're both pros and they know how to work together 🎥. And can we talk about how underrated The Smashing Machine is? I need to check that out ASAP. It's always great to see actors putting their differences aside and supporting each other... plus it's nice to see Vin Diesel with his heart on his sleeve 💖. Now, let's get hyped for Fast X 🚀!

I'm loving this development 😊. It's awesome to see Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson putting their differences aside and showing respect for each other's work. The Smashing Machine is actually a boxing movie starring Tommy Lee Jones, not Dwayne Johnson 🤔. I'm curious to know what sparked this sudden change of heart from Diesel, but I'm glad they're moving forward on good terms 👍. Their on-screen partnership has been iconic in the Fast and Furious franchise, so I'm excited to see what's next for them 💪.

omg u guys think this is a shock lol vin diesel has been trying to make amends with the rock for ages! i remember when they were still feuding, it was like a whole big thing online... and now its all good apparently 🤷‍♂️. the rock's performance in smashing machine must've really moved diesel to put this olive branch out there. its cool that they're back on good terms but lets be real, its about the money with these guys 💸

OMG, can you even imagine Vin and Dwayne being BFFs? 🤔👫 Like, they used to have this huge drama going on between them, but now it's all good! 💖 I'm loving how Vin is giving props to The Rock for his performance in The Smashing Machine - like, major respect, dude! 💪 And can we talk about how iconic that throwback photo is? 📸 Those two were meant to be on-screen partners, not enemies. I'm curious to see what the future holds for them now... will they team up again for Fast X or something? 🤔🚀

idk why people are getting all excited about this... Vin Diesel and The Rock just putting their differences aside after years of beef? sounds like a pretty predictable move to me 🤷‍♂️. I mean, Diesel is basically saying thanks for doing your job, Johnson... it's not like he did anything out of the ordinary 😒. And let's be real, this whole thing is probably just some PR stunt to get more people interested in Fast X 🎥. Can't say I'm buying all the fake friendship vibes here 💔.

I'm not buying it 🙄... like seriously, after all the drama they went through, Vin Diesel just decided to let go and move on like that? I mean, The Rock was pretty vocal about how much he hated Vin's "tough love" tactics last year, but now they're BFFs? It feels too good (and fake) to be true 🤷‍♂️. Maybe this is just a clever PR stunt to boost their upcoming project... we'll see 😏.

I think it's really cool to see Vin and Dwayne finally burying the hatchet 💕 They've had one of the most epic feuds in Hollywood history, but it looks like they're both class acts for making amends 🙌 The fact that Vin even acknowledged Dwayne's hard work on The Smashing Machine shows he values their partnership – and that's a beautiful thing ❤️ Now, I'm curious to see what kind of magic they'll create together next! Who knows, maybe we'll get another epic Fast and Furious film 💥 One thing's for sure: their fans are gonna love it 🤩

Wow 🤯 I'm loving this sudden change of heart from Vin Diesel! It's like they both realized that their beef was just a waste of time. Now, it'll be sick to see them back together in action 💥 And I gotta say, Dwayne Johnson totally brought the fire in The Smashing Machine 🔥. Guess you could say their friendship is one for the ages 👫

I love this unexpected turn of events! 🤩 I mean, who wouldn't want to put a beef behind them and focus on what really matters - making awesome movies together? Vin Diesel's gesture is super mature and shows he's not only a talented actor but also someone who values his relationships with others. The fact that they've been able to move past their differences and start fresh is truly inspiring. Now, I'm curious to see how this newfound respect will translate into some epic collaborations on the big screen! 💥
