Rian Johnson and Daniel Craig are at it again with the latest installment of their popular Knives Out series, "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery". The results are nothing short of impressive. Critics have awarded this film a staggering 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes, outpacing its predecessors in terms of both critical and audience acclaim.
To put that into perspective, the first two films in the series only managed to reach a 97% and 91% critic score respectively, while their audience scores were slightly lower at 92%. This time around, "Wake Up Dead Man" has not only surpassed its predecessors but also taken the top spot as Daniel Craig's highest-grossing film. His previous stint as James Bond in "Casino Royale" holds a respectable 90% audience score.
With such stellar reviews, it's no wonder Rian Johnson and Daniel Craig are keen on continuing their collaboration. In fact, they've expressed their desire to make Benoit Blanc mysteries forevermore. And with the success of this series, who can blame them? From filming in exotic locations to reuniting with A-list stars, what more could you ask for?
As we await the release of "Wake Up Dead Man" on Netflix (December 12th) after its limited theatrical run, it's worth noting that Rian Johnson has already stated his intentions to move forward with another installment. While there hasn't been an official greenlight for Knives Out 4 yet, given Johnson's past comments about dropping a trilogy and the recent cancellation of Star Wars: Episode IX, this seems like a very likely scenario.
