Watch Robyn Showcase New Single 'Sexistential' on 'Colbert'

Robyn Embodies 'Sexistential' Vibes on The Late Show

Last night, pop sensation Robyn took to the stage of The Late Show to showcase her highly anticipated new single "Sexistential" and its accompanying album of the same name. The Swedish songstress performed a dynamic rendition of the track, dancing and sprawling across the stage floor as she rapped about having one-night stands while 10 weeks pregnant via IVF.

Intriguingly, Robyn revealed that the inspiration for the track came after Andre 3000 claimed no one would want to hear him rap about getting a colonoscopy. This bold move sparked her creativity and ultimately led to writing a rap about IVF – a unique subject matter for an artist known for her catchy pop anthems.

The album, co-produced with Åhlund, marks Robyn's ninth studio release after 2018's "Honey". According to the singer, the material is meant to evoke a sense of emotional intensity and vulnerability. In an interview statement, she explained that exploring her sensual life is akin to creating music – it requires effort and dedication to maintain the delicate balance between sensuality and sensitivity.

Robyn previously debuted the single at a New Year's Eve show in Brooklyn, where she also performed "Talk to Me", the album's debut single. The track showcases Robyn's signature blend of pop hooks and introspective lyrics, with the added layer of emotional depth provided by her experiences with IVF and pregnancy.

As for the album title, "Sexistential" was initially an inside joke before Robyn realized its profound significance. She believes that exploring one's sensual life is a vital part of staying horny – not just about sex, but also about embracing feelings of attraction and sensuality without letting external factors dictate her emotions.

With "Sexistential", Robyn is poised to take the music world by storm with an album that promises to be as emotionally charged as it is sonically captivating.

omg I'm lowkey obsessed with this new album already 💁‍♀️🎶 i mean, who wouldn't want to hear about getting down on a IVF cycle lol? but seriously, Robyn's always been known for her bold moves and "Sexistential" is no exception - like, taking inspiration from someone saying you can't rap about something and turning it into a whole album is genius 🤓

and the fact that she's talking about being vulnerable and exploring her sensual life is so refreshing 🌸 i'm all about artists pushing boundaries and taking risks with their music. can't wait to dive in and listen to this album - any other fans out there? 😊👀

I'm low-key obsessed with this new single from Robyn 😍🎶. She's been on a roll lately, but this one takes the cake. I mean, who wouldn't want to hear about IVF and pregnancy in a rap song? It's like she's breaking down these stigmas and making us talk about it more. And that line about staying horny without external factors getting in the way...same, girl 💁‍♀️. I'm so here for this album already - it sounds like it's going to be a wild ride of emotions 🎥🔥

omg i'm so hyped for robyn's new album!! 🤩 she's been lowkey dropping some fire singles and this 'sexistential' vibe is everything 🎶 i love how she's not afraid to talk about the real stuff, like her IVF journey and getting pregnant after a one-night stand 😂 it's so refreshing to hear her being vulnerable on stage. i'm intrigued by the idea that exploring sensuality can be just as emotional and intense as creating music itself 💖 can't wait to dive into the whole album and see how she pushes boundaries with this new project 🎵

🤔 gotta say, this whole 'Sexistential' thing got me thinking... like, what's really going on here? Is Robyn just being real about her experiences or is she trying to make some kinda statement about society's expectations on women? And that line where she says exploring her sensual life is vital for staying horny... yeah, it sounds kinda weird. 🤷‍♀️ I'm not saying it's a bad thing or anything, but maybe there's more to it than meets the eye. What if this whole album is just a way for Robyn to subtly challenge our norms around sex and emotions? Like, she's using her music as a form of subversion? 🎶 That would be so cool... but also kinda creepy. 😏

🔥 I'm low-key obsessed with Robyn's new single "Sexistential" 🎤 the way she raps about having a baby on IVF is so underrated 💯 and the lyrics are fire 🔥 it's like she's taking control of her own body and emotions, which is exactly what we need more of in pop music 🎶 I'm also loving the vibe of her new album, it sounds so experimental and refreshing 😌 can't wait to dive in and explore all the feels 🤩

this album is gonna be EVERYTHING 🤩, i mean robyn's already proven she can create infectious pop hooks but now she's taking it to a whole new level by diving into some heavy stuff like ivf and pregnancy. i love how she's owning her sensual life and not apologizing for it - it's about time we see more women unapologetically embracing their desires and emotions 💁‍♀️. and that fact that she was inspired by andre 3000's comment? genius 🤓, sometimes all it takes is a little push to get the creativity flowing 💫
