Streaming Seasonal Blues: What to Watch This Weekend

It's that time of year again, when holiday playlists are on repeat and festive lights adorn every home. While Christmas movies galore will soon dominate your screen, we're focusing on the latest releases across various streaming platforms this weekend.

For those craving something more substantial than cheesy holiday fare, several new TV shows have hit their respective release dates. On Netflix, Kurt Sutter's Western drama 'The Abandons' is available for viewers to dissect with its 29% Rotten Tomatoes score and mediocre Popcornmeter results. For fans of gritty storytelling, American Primeval might be more appealing - a violent and captivating show that Taylor Kitsch stars in.

Fans of period dramas will enjoy the latest Starz series 'Spartacus: House of Ashur — Season 1', a prequel to the original show which saw the demise of Spartacus. The movie follows an alternate storyline where one of its main characters didn't die, a tantalizing prospect for fans of epic fantasy.

On Netflix, George Clooney and Adam Sandler star in director Noah Baumbach's new film 'Jay Kelly', about two men reflecting on their past choices and relationships. With a 77% Rotten Tomatoes score, this character-driven drama promises an engaging viewing experience.

For families looking for a fun movie night, Disney+ will have the latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid film available to stream.

On Prime Video, Wes Anderson's new film 'The Phoenician Scheme' drops this weekend. With an array of talented actors in its cast, this promises to be another thrilling experience from the renowned director.

Christmas enthusiasts will enjoy Michael Showalter's upcoming comedy 'Oh. What. Fun.', despite mixed reviews for the movie.

Zootopia 2 and Hamnet round out our list of new releases on various streaming platforms. As fans eagerly await more exciting adventures in Derry, we must also acknowledge that IT: Welcome to Derry Season 1 will conclude on a cliffhanger.

Across multiple platforms, viewers have access to an array of popular shows such as Prime Video's 'The Mighty Nein — Season 1', Apple TV's 'Pluribus — Season 1' and HBO Max's 'Blue Lights — Season 3.'

omg u guys i cant wait for "jay kelly" on netflix!!! adam sandlers in a movie with george clooney sounds soooo good 🤩 i mean the fact that its got a high rotten tomatoes score already gives me vibes that its gonna be an amazing watch. and u know what would make it even better? binge watching it over the holidays 😂

I'm so stoked for the new Netflix show 'Jay Kelly'! George Clooney and Adam Sandler are a dream team 🤩. I love how it's all about character-driven drama, can't wait to dive into that 😊. Wes Anderson's new film on Prime Video sounds super intriguing too 🎬. Has anyone else checked out the trailer?

I'm so done with these cheesy holiday movies 🎄😒. I mean, can't we watch something a little more...substantial for once? 🤔 I've been eyeing that new Western drama on Netflix, 'The Abandons' - it's got 29% Rotten Tomatoes score, which sounds kinda meh to me 🤷‍♀️. But hey, if you're into gritty storytelling and stuff, go for it! 👍 On the other hand, I've heard great things about Taylor Kitsch in 'American Primeval' - maybe that's more my vibe? 🎬 Also, I'm super stoked to see George Clooney and Adam Sandler teaming up in 'Jay Kelly' - a character-driven drama sounds right up my alley! 📚 Can't wait to binge-watch some of these new releases this weekend! 🎥

I think we're being way too harsh on Kurt Sutter's Western drama "The Abandons" 🤔. I mean, a 29% Rotten Tomatoes score doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. The guy's got experience with the TV show "Sons of Anarchy", and that was pretty popular, right? Maybe people just need to give this one a few more views before making a judgment? 🎬

man i was just watching that zootopia movie like in 2016 🐰😂 and now they got a sequel? time flies, reminds me of when i used to watch the simpsons and now my kids are watching it too lol. anyway, i saw the trailer for wes anderson's new film and it looks sooo weird but cool at the same time. like his movies from back in the day, you know, moonrise kingdom or the grand budapest hotel 🌕🎭

I'm not a fan of binge-watching new seasons on streaming platforms. It gets me every time 😴 I end up watching the same shows over and over again, missing out on the holidays 🎄 with my loved ones instead of actually enjoying the festive vibes. Can't we just take it easy for once?

ugh i'm so done with christmas movies this year 🤯 it feels like the same old thing every year and honestly can't we just skip to january already?!? 🎉 at least there are some new shows and movies that might be worth checking out... like american primeval on amazon prime, that one looks pretty intense 🤬 and george clooney in jay kelly, he's always a solid actor 👍 but ugh, why do we need another christmas movie? can't we just have some normal content for once?!?! 😩

omg u guys its already that time of year again 🎄🌟 i'm so done with holiday music on repeat, can't we just switch to somethin else lol 🙃 anyway, have u seen the latest movies on netflix? george clooney and adam sandler in jay kelly? 77% rotten tomatoes score is straight fire 🔥👍 and american primeval sounds soooo good with taylor kitsch 👀 btw did u know that netflix has over 250 million subscribers worldwide 📊🌎 which is like, crazy! 🤯

aww man, i feel you 🤗... sometimes all we want is a good ol' fashioned binge-watching session without the holiday stress 🎄💤... and it sounds like there are some awesome shows and movies out now that'll help us escape into something more exciting 😊... whether it's a gritty western drama or a fun family movie night, there's something for everyone this weekend 📺👍... just take a deep breath, grab some popcorn, and indulge in the latest releases – you deserve it! 🍿💕

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." 🌟😊 Netflix is really stepping up their game this season, I mean who wouldn't want to binge-watch a gritty western or a character-driven drama? The casting in "The Phoenician Scheme" looks like it's gonna be amazing and I'm low-key excited for "Jay Kelly". Maybe I'll grab some popcorn on Disney+ with the kids and enjoy the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid film.

I'm telling ya, it's all about the agenda here... think about it, Netflix is releasing 'Jay Kelly' with George Clooney and Adam Sandler, but what if they're trying to tell us something? Like, have you ever noticed how many shows are coming out around the holidays that just happen to be dramas or character-driven films? It's like they want us to feel all the feels and forget about the truth. And don't even get me started on 'The Phoenician Scheme' - Wes Anderson is known for his weirdness, but is this movie a deliberate distraction from something bigger? I'm watching my signals, you know 📺👀

omg i'm so down for that new westen drama on netflix got my eyes on the george clooney film with adam sandler looks super interesting 77% Rotten Tomatoes score is a solid start to the weekend 🤩🎬 can't wait to dive into some epic fantasy

📺 I'm really intrigued by the new releases this weekend. While some might be too cheesy for my taste, I do think Kurt Sutter's Western drama is definitely worth checking out - that gritty storytelling can't be ignored! 🤔 And Wes Anderson's 'The Phoenician Scheme' sounds like a thrilling experience from the master of quirky filmmaking. I'm also curious about George Clooney and Adam Sandler's new film, it seems like an interesting character-driven drama with 77% Rotten Tomatoes score to back it up! 😊

I'm kinda excited for the new season of The Abandons on Netflix, but I also don't wanna miss out on Wes Anderson's latest film on Prime Video 🎥. Taylor Kitsch is an actor I've always been a fan of, and I love how he can bring this whole dark gritty vibe to his roles 💀. At the same time, I'm not really feeling Jay Kelly with George Clooney and Adam Sandler in it...I mean, I love both actors, but sometimes even they need a little more convincing 🤔. What do you guys think?
