World Cup 2026 fixtures: England to kick off under roof in Dallas during UK primetime

England is set to start its 2026 World Cup campaign with a high-profile match in Dallas, Texas, under the roof of the Cowboys' stadium. This 9pm UK time kickoff will minimize the effects of playing during hot summer hours in the US city. The retractable roof and air conditioning at the venue should provide a comfortable environment for players.

The team's second game, against Ghana on June 23rd, will be played in an open-air stadium near Boston, with temperatures expected to soar to 26C (79F). This will be a stark contrast to their first match in Dallas. England's final group stage match, against Panama, is set for New Jersey with a kick-off time of 5pm EST.

Scotland, meanwhile, has been assigned less desirable kickoff times for their matches. Their first game against Haiti will start at 9pm UK time on June 13th, while their second and third games against Morocco and Brazil will begin at 6pm EST.

The draw also revealed that the final match will take place in New York/New Jersey Stadium, with a 3pm kick-off on July 19th. England's captain Harry Kane expressed his excitement about the tournament, saying it is an opportunity to prove themselves as champions. The team will face tough opponents, including Croatia and Ghana, but Kane remains confident that they can beat anyone.

The US will host the World Cup for the first time since 1994, with several venues across the country selected for the event. However, it appears that the Football Association's preferred training base in Kansas City may be out of consideration due to its location.

ugh think about all those heatwaves during england matches lol 🤯😓 like how can you play footy in 79f? they should've played more games in air con stadiums idk... meanwhile scotland has it even harder 😒 what's up with their kickoff times tho? 🕰️ they gotta face morocco and brazil in the heat too?! poor players 🤷‍♀️

omg can u believe england is gonna play d first match in dalas with a retractable roof lol what a sweet setup for d players ! and then they gotta face ghana in boston which sounds like a total opposite vibe 🤯🌡️ hope dey stay hydrated & energized throughout d whole tournament 😊

I'm thinking... England getting two matches at the same time? 😂 that can't be good for their teamwork. Playing under a roof and then in the scorching heat will really test their endurance. And Scotland, oh man, 9pm kickoff is not ideal for anyone! 👎 But you know what, I still think Kane's right, they've got this tournament in the bag! 🏆 England needs to step up their game though, Croatia and Ghana won't go down without a fight! 💪

Ugh, I'm literally fuming about this whole thing... like seriously can't they just pick a venue that's central and makes sense? They're going all over the US for these games and it's just so extra. Dallas is great but come on, why not London or Manchester? And then you've got England playing in a retractable roof stadium with aircon and Ghana in an open-air stadium near Boston where it's literally going to be like walking into a oven... I mean what kind of draw did they even do?! Scotland's matches are even worse they get to play Haiti at 9pm UK time which is just ridiculous. And the final match in New York/New Jersey Stadium, I'm so over all the US locations for this tournament. It feels like they're trying to spread themselves too thin and it's just going to be a mess... 🤯

yaaas i'm so stoked that england is gonna kick off their world cup campaign in dallas! who wouldn't wanna play under the retractable roof with air con? it's like they're gonna be sippin' on ice-cold beverages while everyone else is sweatin' like crazy! 😂 and can u believe harry kane is so hyped about this? i mean, he's got a point tho - this is def their chance to prove themselves as champs. and who knows, maybe they'll even get some cool merch from the cowboy stadium 🤠

ugh i cant even imagine playing soccer in the middle of summer in the US 🤯 its like they want the players to melt on the field lol 26 degrees celsius is like trying to play footy in a sauna 😓 and dont even get me started on the kickoff times scotland gets stuck with 9pm and 6pm games 🕰️ thats not exactly ideal for anyone who wants to sleep at night or have a social life 🤪 at least england gets a comfy roof in dallas 🙌 can only imagine harry kane saying "yeah i feel like champions" while sweating buckets 😂

Dude, I'm hyped about the World Cup, but can you imagine playing a soccer match in Texas where the only thing hotter than the ball is the sun? 🤣 And they're gonna play one under a roof and then another open-air game? That's like me switching between AC and sweatpants mid-day! 😂 I'm sure the England squad will be, like, "Cool, we can handle it" but seriously, who thought playing in Boston during summer was a good idea? 🙄 It's gonna be like a heat index...of frustration.
