A 1-year-old boy has perished after plummeting from a fourth-floor window in an Edgewater neighborhood apartment building on Friday morning. The tragic incident occurred at around 11:30 am, when the child, Mukhsin Mirzoashra, tumbled from the window on the 5800 block of North Sheridan Road.

Mirzoashra was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston with life-threatening injuries, but unfortunately, his condition rapidly deteriorated. He suffered a fatal head injury and was pronounced dead just hours later at Lurie Children's Hospital around 4:40 pm.

Initially, police reported the boy as being two years old, sparking concerns about potential child safety checks. However, detectives are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall to determine its cause. The exact details of what led up to this tragic event remain shrouded in mystery for now.
