idk about this fare evasion crackdown tho , like i get that they wanna collect revenue but 7 weeks into it and already 85 warnings? seems a bit excessive to me... they should at least try to be more subtle than just posting blue shirts everywhere . some ppl might feel really uncomfortable with that kinda presence , not to mention the cost of fines up to $150 ... maybe they can find other ways to encourage people to pay their fares without making them feel like they're being hassled ?
I gotta say, I'm kinda surprised they only had 85 warnings issued after all that hype about cracking down on fare evasion! I mean, I get it, the MBTA wants to make sure everyone pays their fair share, but it feels like they're just getting started. Those blue shirts are cute though ! I do think it's a great move to expand the program to buses and trolley lines, that way they can catch more people who might be avoiding paying their fares. Plus, it's awesome to see the MBTA being proactive about safety and community support - those police officers definitely make a difference . Can't wait to see how this whole thing plays out in the long run!
I think it's pretty sweet that they got zero citations after just 7 weeks... I mean, not bad considering how much of a change their new fare evasion policy is . But at the same time, 85 warnings isn't super great either. Like, they gotta find a balance between making sure people pay up and not scaring off the customers. And I'm curious, what kinda community support are we talking about? Is it like, super enthusiastic or more of a gradual thing?
OMG, i'm like super relieved that dey r not citin ppl yet its still early days 4 de fare evasion crackdown n i gotta give dem props 4 tryin hard. its awesome dat dey got a strong community backing dem, now lets hop dey dont get too carried away w/ de fines lol u mean who r we 2 judge ppl 4 not havin cash? anywayz, lets see how dis whole thing plays out n maybe dey can find a balance btw fair revenue collection n being kinda chill 2 riders
I'm surprised they're only getting 85 warnings instead of actual fines . It makes me wonder if people really think they can just sit back and expect the system to change without doing anything themselves. I mean, the MBTA's been trying to crack down on fare evasion for weeks now, but still, most people seem to be cooperative... or is it just that nobody wants to rock the boat? The blue shirts at subway stations might be a nice touch, but are they really making a difference? It feels like a Band-Aid solution to me. We need more than just some token cops and warnings to fix our problems. What's really driving this fare evasion thing anyway? Is it economic struggle or something else entirely?
I'm not sure why they're only doing it on occasion... it feels like an easy way out โ. What's wrong with just having more reps on the ground? I mean, yeah, some ppl are being super cooperative, but it's still frustrating when you don't see anyone from MBTA at all sometimes . They need to figure out a way to make it less of an issue for the commuters who already pay their fares... 85 warnings is not bad, but I'm sure there are more people who aren't following the rules .
