3-year-old child killed in hit-and-run crash in west Houston, HPD says

I'm literally so shocked by this news 🤯... but at the same time, I know it's not like the first hit-and-run incident we heard about last year or anything... and yet, here we are again, with a young child's life lost to senseless reckless driving. But is it really our fault that drivers don't stop to help? Like, shouldn't they be expecting other people on the road who might need their assistance? 🤔

And what really gets me is how quickly everyone wants answers, but like, we're still waiting for some kinda justice here... meanwhile, families are left with so much grief and no closure. I know it's easy to say "it could've been prevented if people just followed the rules", but what about all those other factors that lead up to this kind of tragedy? Can't we at least try to be more empathetic towards each other while still holding people accountable for their actions? 🤷‍♀️

OMG, like, this is so sad 🤕... I mean, what's even more disturbing is how some people just drive off without checking if someone needs help 🚗😡. It's not just about the child, it's also about the parents and family who are left to deal with this trauma. And yeah, Houston has its traffic issues, but that's no excuse for someone to flee the scene 💔.

I'm all for road safety awareness and accountability, but we need to make sure our schools teach kids how to be aware of their surroundings, too 📚. We can't just rely on drivers to be responsible; we have to take responsibility as pedestrians too 👣.

This incident is a harsh reminder that we need better infrastructure and more police presence on the roads. I hope the investigation reveals everything and brings justice to the child's family 💪. It's so important for us to look out for each other, especially in our communities 🤝.
