I mean, who wouldn't want to spend 35 million bucks on fixing a bridge that's been neglected for decades
? I guess it's great that the city is committed to restoring the aesthetics of the thing, because, you know, looks are everything
. But seriously, can we just keep the original design and add some modern safety features without replacing the whole thing entirely? It seems like such a waste of resources
