A dilapidated bridge in Prospect Park is way overdue for a glow-up

I mean, who wouldn't want to spend 35 million bucks on fixing a bridge that's been neglected for decades 🤷‍♀️? I guess it's great that the city is committed to restoring the aesthetics of the thing, because, you know, looks are everything 💁‍♀️. But seriously, can we just keep the original design and add some modern safety features without replacing the whole thing entirely? It seems like such a waste of resources 🤯. And on the bright side, I'm sure those turtles will be super happy to have a safe place to swim in their beloved park 🐢🌳.

Ugh I'm like totally tired of these bridges being neglected 🤦‍♀️... Prospect Park's bridge is literally falling apart and it's been ages since anyone's done anything about it 💸 35 million bucks is a lot, I get it, but come on! 🤑 Can't the city just do some TLC? 🔧 This Calvert Vaux dude must've put his heart into building that thing, and now it's like, covered in graffiti 🎨 and has rusty old guardrails 🚮. And what's with the debate over replacing it or restoring it to its original state? Can't they just, you know, fix it? 💪 The kids who grew up going there are all for preserving it too 😊 I mean, who wouldn't want to see turtles swimming in the lake like Jose Ortigoza 🐢... anyway, I hope the city comes through and does some serious work on that bridge soon! 🤞
