I'm thinking that this whole thing is kinda interesting
, but also super complicated
. I mean, Trump and Petro had some major public beefs going on before they even met in person, and now they're just...not?
It's like, what's the real deal here?
I think part of it is that both leaders are trying to project this image of being all buddy-buddy with each other, but really they're still holding out for their own agendas
. Trump wants Colombia on board for his "war on drugs" thing, and Petro is all like, "Uh, no thanks, we've got this."
And what's up with the private meetings? Is it just a way for them to be all casual and stuff, or is there something more going on beneath the surface?
I feel like they're trying to keep things low-key so they don't rock the boat too much before Colombia's presidential election. But at the same time, this whole thing could be a total game-changer if it works out
.
One thing that's got me thinking is how this whole dynamic plays out with Petro's left-wing coalition
. If Trump and Petro can somehow make their differences work, it could help Petro's team avoid getting slammed by the US. But if things go south, it could be a total disaster
. Either way, I'm keeping an eye on this one
.
