A new approach to a Covid-19 nasal vaccine shows early promise | CNN

I THINK THIS IS SO COOL!!! if they can develop a nasal vaccine that targets the point where covid-19 enters the body, then we're talking about a game-changer here! i mean, just imagine being able to prevent illness without even having to get a shot in your arm , or at least, not as much of one. it's like having a superhero sidekick that kicks covid-19 butt 24/7 !

but yeah, i do have some concerns about the study results and the need for more research... we can't just rush into human trials without making sure everything is good to go . still, it's awesome to see scientists like Emanuel Wyler working on new ways to combat this virus and give people hope again

this whole nasal vaccine thing is kinda cool i mean its not like we're gonna give everyone a nose full of virus or anything so the idea of targeting the point where covid enters the body sounds like a solid plan to me especially if it can prevent those nasty variants from being a problem again

gotta say, this nasal vaccine sounds like a game changer! I mean, if it really can provide long-lasting protection against future variants of the virus that's a huge relief. And I love the firefighter analogy - it makes total sense why it'd be effective in responding to threats quickly.

I'm also intrigued by how it works compared to traditional vaccines. Boosting mucosal immunity in the nasal tissues is a genius move, especially since current vaccines rely on spike protein antibodies which might not be as effective against new variants.

But, of course, there's more research needed before we can start administering this vaccine to humans . I mean, immune memory and variant susceptibility are major concerns that need to be addressed ASAP.

And can we talk about how crazy it is that at least 4 nasal vaccines for Covid-19 have reached late-stage testing in humans already? It's wild thinking about all the options available now .

One thing that keeps me up at night, though: care and caution are essential when developing live vaccines . We can't just rush into this without making sure it's safe and effective for everyone.

And, like, I totally get why the experts are hesitant – respiratory infections can be super tricky to tackle with inhalable vaccines .
