A Ratchet and Clank multiplayer game is coming to iOS and Android soon

Insomniac's Next Move: Ratchet & Clank Returns with Multiplayer Game on Mobile

After four long years since the release of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, fans of the beloved action-platformer series are finally getting some good news. A new installment is on the horizon, and it's not coming to the PlayStation 5 as many had hoped.

Instead, Insomniac's latest project is a multiplayer arena shooter called Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, which is set to arrive on iOS and Android devices soon. The game has already gone live in select countries, with fans in other regions able to pre-register for the upcoming release.

Developed by mobile studio Oh BiBi, Ranger Rumble promises to deliver fast-paced action with a variety of colorful characters, abilities, and weapons at players' disposal. The game features several modes, including a soccer-style mode that's sure to bring out the competitive spirit in gamers.

While it's unclear when exactly Ranger Rumble will be released globally, fans can expect it to be free-to-play โ€“ although, as with many mobile games of this type, microtransactions are likely on the horizon. One positive aspect is that players will have the opportunity to customize their characters.

This isn't the first time the Ratchet & Clank series has made its way to mobile devices, however. Insomniac's Going Mobile debuted in 2005, before smartphones became a norm. An endless runner called Before the Nexus arrived eight years later, and dedicated fans have since found ways to play older titles like Clone Home โ€“ an original sequel to Going Mobile that was originally intended for Java phones but was canceled.

With Ranger Rumble on the way, it seems Insomniac is committed to bringing its beloved franchise to new audiences. Whether this will be a success remains to be seen, but one thing's for certain: fans of action-platformers have reason to be excited once again.

I'm stoked that they're bringing Ratchet & Clank back on the mobile scene ๐Ÿคฉ! It's about time we get some quality gaming action on our smartphones. I mean, who doesn't love a good multiplayer experience with colorful characters and crazy abilities? ๐ŸŽฎ The soccer-style mode sounds like so much fun, and the fact that it's free-to-play is a definite plus. Fingers crossed they won't make us shell out too much cash for microtransactions, though ๐Ÿ˜’. I'm hyped to try this out and see how it compares to other mobile games in the same vein. Maybe this will be the game that makes me forget about my insomnia issues for a bit...

I'm stoked that Insomniac's bringing Ratchet & Clank back to mobile devices ๐Ÿคฉ. It's been too long since we've had a new game in the series, and now we're getting not one, but two! The fact that it's free-to-play is a major plus โ€“ more people can experience the awesomeness of Ratchet & Clank without breaking the bank ๐Ÿ’ธ.

I'm curious to see how they'll implement customization options for characters ๐Ÿค”. It's a great way to make the game feel more personal and rewarding for players. And who knows, maybe this will be the push Insomniac needs to create some amazing new content for the PS5 too? Fingers crossed! ๐Ÿคž

its kinda weird that they're releasing this game on mobile first tho ๐Ÿค” i mean, I get that it's gonna reach more people, but the series is already established, you know? i'm curious to see how this game plays out, esp since its a multiplayer game ๐ŸŽฎ ill probably try it out when it drops, we'll just have to wait and see if it lives up to the Ratchet & Clank name ๐Ÿ‘

I'm low-key hyped about this! A new Ratchet & Clank game on mobile? It's been ages since we've seen the series on our phones ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ‘. I mean, it's not the PS5, but at least it's a good start. The gameplay sounds so much fun, especially with all those cool characters and abilities ๐Ÿ˜„. I'm just hoping they don't get too greedy with the microtransactions ๐Ÿ’ธ. It's always better when games are free-to-play or have reasonable in-game purchases. Fingers crossed for a smooth release and a loyal fanbase ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’•.

OMG, I'm so hyped about Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble on mobile ๐Ÿคฉ! Who knew Insomniac would bring their iconic characters to our pocket-sized gaming experience? ๐Ÿ“ฑ It's awesome that they're offering a free-to-play game with customization options - can't wait to try it out and show off my character designs ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ! The soccer-style mode sounds like so much fun, I'm already imagining the competitive matches with friends ๐Ÿ‘ซ. Fingers crossed it'll be released soon and we can join the multiplayer action! ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ‘

you know what's wild about ratchet & clank going mobile? it just goes to show that the love for these characters isn't tied down by console or device ๐Ÿคฏ. we're living in a time where technology is constantly evolving and our games are adapting to it, but at the same time, some of us still yearn for those classic gaming experiences ๐Ÿ’ป. i mean, who wouldn't want to play as ratchet and clank on the go? it's like they say - just because we can, doesn't mean we should ๐Ÿค”. maybe this is an opportunity for insomniac to test their mettle in a whole new arena (pun intended ๐Ÿ˜œ) and figure out what works best for their fans... but ultimately, it's all about the love for the franchise that drives them forward โค๏ธ

I'm kinda stoked that Ratchet & Clank is coming back on mobile ๐Ÿค”, but at the same time I'm a bit skeptical about how this will play out. I mean, the series has such a dedicated fanbase on console and PC, can they really translate that to a more casual mobile experience? And what's up with going free-to-play? It feels like Insomniac is trying to make up for it by offering customization options, which is cool, but microtransactions are never fun ๐Ÿค‘. Still, I'm intrigued by the multiplayer aspect and the soccer-style mode sounds like it could be a lot of fun in short bursts. Fingers crossed they can pull off a solid game without sacrificing too much quality ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿค” so like imagine you're stuck in this never-ending loop of insomnia ๐Ÿ˜ด and your brain is just bouncing around with ideas for Ratchet & Clank games ๐Ÿคฏ. that's kinda what Insomniac must've been going through for four whole years without a new game ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ. but seriously, a multiplayer arena shooter on mobile? ๐Ÿ“ฑ it's like they're trying to bring the franchise to a whole new generation of gamers ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘ง. personally i think it's awesome that they're doing something different from what we've seen before, like the endless runner thing ๐Ÿ”„. and customizing characters is always a bonus ๐Ÿ”ฅ. let's just hope they don't make it too microtransactiony ๐Ÿค‘... but overall i'm down for some more Ratchet & Clank action ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”ดโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I'm stoked to see Ratchet & Clank back on our screens ๐Ÿคฉ! The mobile game scene has come a long way since 2005, and I think this is a great move by Insomniac to bring their franchise to new players. But let's look at some stats - the global gaming market was worth $156.4B in 2022, with mobile gaming accounting for 52% of that ๐Ÿ“ˆ.

In terms of the gaming audience, 72% of gamers aged 18-34 play on mobile devices ( Statista, 2022), so this move is definitely targeting a younger crowd. Meanwhile, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart sold over 4.8M copies worldwide in its first week, with an average player age of 35 (NPD Group, 2021). I think Ranger Rumble has some big shoes to fill, but if executed well, it could be a huge hit ๐Ÿ’ฅ.

The game's free-to-play model is also interesting - did you know that the top-grossing mobile games generate around $10-15M in revenue per month (Sensor Tower, 2022)? If Insomniac can tap into that audience effectively, they might just have a winner on their hands ๐Ÿคž.

OMG, I'm so hyped about this news!!! ๐Ÿคฉ A new Ratchet & Clank game on mobile is exactly what we need after four long years of waiting! Who says console exclusives always get the best games? ๐Ÿ˜’ Insomniac's taking a risk by going mobile, but if it pays off, we'll get more awesome gaming experiences. Plus, customizable characters and multiplayer modes will keep me engaged for hours ๐ŸŽฎ. Fingers crossed it comes out soon, I'm itching to try Ranger Rumble! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

I'm not sure if I love or hate the fact that Ratchet & Clank is heading to mobile devices ๐Ÿค”. On one hand, it's awesome that Insomniac is trying to bring their iconic series to new players, especially with a multiplayer game that sounds like so much fun - Ranger Rumble seems like an incredible way for fans and newcomers alike to experience the franchise! ๐ŸŽฎ But on the other hand, I'm worried about the potential for microtransactions... like, come on Insomniac can't we just have a free-to-play experience without all the extra stuff ๐Ÿ’ธ?

I'm so stoked they're finally releasing a new Ratchet & Clank game ๐Ÿคฉ! I mean, I love playing those games with my kids, it's always such a blast ๐Ÿ˜Š. As a parent, it's awesome that Insomniac is making a multiplayer game for mobile devices - I know how hard it can be to find something fun and easy to play together as a family ๐Ÿค. And the fact that it's free-to-play with customization options is a big plus! ๐Ÿ‘

I'm not sure about the microtransactions, though ๐Ÿค‘. As a parent, you've got to keep an eye on what your kids are spending their time and money on ๐Ÿ’ธ. But overall, I think this is a great move for Insomniac and a great opportunity for them to bring in new fans to the series ๐Ÿ‘.

It's also interesting that they're going back to mobile devices after all these years ๐Ÿ“ฑ. My kid loves playing games like Clash of Clans with me on my old phone ๐Ÿ˜‚, so I know he'll be super excited about this release ๐ŸŽ‰!
