A snowboarder got buried upside down in snow. See skier’s quick reaction. | CNN

"A harrowing rescue scenario unfolded on the slopes of Mt. Baker in Washington, as a snowboarder got buried upside down in the snow and was saved by an swift-thinking skier.

Francis Zuber, the heroic skier who sprang into action, described his reaction as 'instinct' after noticing the snowboarder trapped. He quickly assessed the situation and took charge, urging others to take up rescue courses to learn how to handle similar situations.

The dramatic video footage shows Zuber carefully assessing the situation before making a move. With calm composure, he reaches out and gently frees the snowboarder from the tree well, ensuring his safety before standing him upright.

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with snow falling heavily and visibility reduced due to the trees. However, thanks to Zuber's quick thinking and expertise, the rescue was completed without any further complications.

His bravery and selflessness have been widely praised, and many are now taking notice of the importance of learning lifesaving skills such as wilderness first aid. As one bystander put it: 'You never know when you'll need to act in a life-threatening situation'."

The video is available on CNN's website, offering a glimpse into this remarkable rescue effort and serving as a reminder of the crucial role that timely intervention can play in preventing tragedies."

omg 😱 just watched this crazy rescue vid at CNN - the skier who saved that snowboarder from being buried alive under all that snow is literally a hero 🙏 his reaction was like 'hey I need to do something' and then he took charge 💪 it's wild how quickly he thought on his feet & got the person out safely. definitely think we should all take some rescue courses just in case you know when u gotta act fast 🚨👍

I mean, can you imagine being buried under all that snow with no way out? It's like something straight out of a horror movie 🤯. But then someone like Francis Zuber comes along and saves the day! I'm seriously impressed by his quick thinking and expertise - it's like he had experience in this kind of situation or something 😲.

And what really gets me is that he's not just stopping at saving one person, he's also spreading awareness about how important it is to learn lifesaving skills like wilderness first aid. Like, people need to know that these kinds of situations can happen anytime and anywhere, so being prepared is key 🔥.

It's also crazy to think that this rescue could've turned out so differently if someone hadn't been in the right place at the right time or had the right training. It just goes to show how quickly things can escalate into a disaster 🚨.

Anyway, I'm glad that everyone involved is safe and sound, and I'm definitely taking some notes about learning more wilderness first aid myself - you never know when it might come in handy 🤓.

man, just great, another hero emerges from nowhere. like, what are the chances right? 🤦‍♂️ and now everyone's gonna be all like "oh, I'm a hero too" because they took an emergency training course... meanwhile the real heroes stay buried under the snow 🤷‍♂️. seriously though, it's cool that he was able to think on his feet and get the guy out alive, but let's not forget the millions of people who are already trained in these skills...

🚨💥 I'm just thinking... that guy Francis Zuber is literally a hero for real 🙌. I mean, who needs a cape when you've got instinct and quick thinking? 💡 The fact that he stayed calm under pressure and took charge of the situation is seriously impressive. And yeah, wilderness first aid courses are super important - it's not just about knowing basic first aid skills, but also how to act in crazy situations like this. It's a great reminder for all us outdoor enthusiasts to be prepared and know what to do in case of an emergency. Kudos to Francis Zuber! 👏

I dont get why people are making such a big deal about Francis Zuber's heroics 🤷‍♂️. I mean, come on, it was just a snowboarding accident 🎿❄️. Anyone would've done the same thing in that situation 😒. And what's with all the fuss over wilderness first aid? It's not like he discovered some new technique or anything 🔥. Plus, can we talk about how the skier got to be there in the first place? Wasn't it a bit lucky for Francis Zuber to stumble upon that snowboarder stuck upside down 🍀?
