Can you believe an 18-yr-old high school student just got involved in redrawing Alabama's senate map after submitting a random online app map ? I mean, the kid's got skills! His plan was picked by a judge over more expert stuff because it had fewer changes . It's wild how much of an impact one person can have on politics . I'm here for it though – more people getting involved in voting and making a difference is always awesome . Of course, there are some concerns about partisanship and all that jazz , but I think it's dope to see a teenager taking charge like this . Maybe this is the start of something special?
OMG, I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS STORY!!! IT'S LIKE, WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT THAT A 18-YEAR-OLD STUDENT FROM ALABAMA COULD MAKE SUCH A BIG IMPACT ON THE STATE'S VOTING MAP? I mean, it's crazy to think about how easily accessible voting data tools have made it possible for anyone to participate in the map-making process. IT'S LIKE, DEMOCRACY IN ACTION!!! BUT AT THE SAME TIME, IT'S ALSO KIND OF UNSETTLING TO THINK ABOUT HOW EASILY YOU CAN GET SUCKED INTO PARTISANSHIP AND RACIAL DISCRIMINATION IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL. ANYWAY, I THINK DI DONATO IS LIKE, A TOTAL HERO FOR STEPPING UP AND SPEAKING OUT REGARDLESS OF WHAT OTHERS SAY. HE'S PROBABLY GONNA DO GREAT THINGS IN THE WORLD OF POLITICS!!!
I mean, I'm loving how this 18-year-old random dude from Alabama managed to shake things up in the senate map process! Using that free online software Dave's Redistricting App, he whipped up a plan that made it through the courts over more 'expert' ones . It's wild how accessible these tools are now – anyone can participate in shaping the voting landscape! Though, I do hope more people take this opportunity to get involved and make a positive difference, rather than just being enthusiastic about it on Twitter . Kudos to DiDonato for staying true to his values and using his skills to create real change .
