After my car was damaged in a Tesco car wash it has washed its hands of my complaint

Tesco's automated car wash has left one driver feeling frustrated after a costly repair bill and a refusal to accept liability for the damage.

Regular customer JM had his vehicle damaged in an automated car wash at his local Tesco store, with significant amounts of money being spent on repairs - estimated to be over Β£750. However, despite the severity of the incident, Tesco has refused to take responsibility for the damage, citing a maintenance report as evidence.

The report was allegedly prepared by the company that provides and maintains the car washes at Tesco's facilities, stating there were no faults with the machine in question. The driver was not allowed to see this report because of "company policy".

This is not an isolated incident - numerous drivers have come forward with similar complaints about Tesco car washes damaging their vehicles. However, when contacted by Tesco, these drivers received identical letters from the company's solicitors claiming that no defects were found with the machine and that a disclaimer at the entrance absolves Tesco of liability for damage caused during use unless by a fault with the machine.

Despite Tesco's assertion that it does not have a blanket policy to reject compensation claims, it has consistently refused to take responsibility for its automated car washes. The company maintains that it considers each case on an individual basis and that its staff check the machines daily to ensure they are in good working order.

The driver is now faced with the daunting task of pursuing a claim through their insurance provider or taking matters to court, which can be a complex and costly process.

Ugh, can't believe this Tesco car wash is at it again 🀯! Driver got royally screwed over, left with a massive repair bill because of their automated monstrosity πŸ’Έ. And what's the excuse? "Company policy" that prevents them from showing the faulty maintenance report 🚫? No wonder they're refusing liability - they're just trying to cover their own backsides πŸ‘€. I mean, if Tesco's got a blanket policy to reject claims, why are they all over social media saying it's on an individual basis? Sounds like a bunch of BS πŸ€₯. This is the kinda thing that makes you wanna pull your hair out 😩!

Ugh, this is so unfair 🀯! I mean, you take your car to get washed and clean, but it gets damaged instead? That's just ridiculous! And Tesco's response is like "oh, we didn't do anything wrong"? They're basically saying their car wash machines are infallible or something πŸ˜‚.

I don't think it's right that they won't take responsibility for the damage and leave someone with a huge repair bill. I know some people might say it's just an accident, but accidents happen! And it's not like anyone's trying to sue them on purpose... it's just frustrating when you're left out of pocket πŸ’Έ.

I hope JM gets his money back or something 🀞. It's just not fair that Tesco is trying to avoid taking responsibility for their own machines. I'd be pretty upset if this happened to me too 😑.

omg dont believe tesco!! 🀯 they cant just say its the drivers fault & not take responsibility for their faulty car washes!! i went to one last year & my wipers were all smashed, had to get them replaced for like Β£200 lol tesco should be liable for that damage! its so frustrating when you pay good money to shop there & then they do this kinda stuff πŸ€‘

Ugh I'm so mad about this Tesco car wash thing! 🀯 They gotta take responsibility for messin' up some poor guy's ride and now he's stuck with a repair bill that's over Β£750. And get this, they're sayin' it was no fault of theirs because some report says the machine is fine. But who gets to see that report? Apparently not the driver, 'cause Tesco says that's just company policy. πŸ€”

And what's really annoyin' is all these other drivers who've come forward with similar complaints and Tesco is just dismissin' them left and right. They're all like "no defects found" and "you signed a disclaimer at the entrance". Like, yeah no kidding! But that don't mean you shouldn't take responsibility for breakin' stuff! πŸ’₯

This guy's gotta go through all this hassle with his insurance provider or even court to get some justice. It's just not right. πŸ™„

πŸ€” Tesco's automated car wash debacle has got me thinking - when it comes down to customer safety and well-being, shouldn't there be stricter regulations in place? I mean, if a company is profiting from these services, shouldn't they take responsibility for any accidents that occur? πŸš— It seems like Tesco is more concerned with protecting their bottom line than the customers who are footing the bill. πŸ“‰ And what's up with this "company policy" thing? Sounds like a classic case of corporate immunity to me! πŸ’Ό If I were JM, I'd be pushing for some serious accountability and transparency from Tesco. The fact that they're dodging liability by citing maintenance reports without allowing drivers to see them is just red flag after red flag. 🚫 This incident highlights the need for stronger consumer protections - it's time someone at the top started listening! πŸ‘‚

πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I'm literally torn about this one... like, how can Tesco just refuse to take responsibility for a faulty machine that's clearly causing problems for customers? πŸš—πŸ˜‘ On the other hand, I get it - companies have to follow policies and procedures, right? And maybe they're not doing anything wrong... but still! πŸ€” It's all so frustrating. Can't we just expect a bit of common sense from these big corporations? 😩 And what's up with this "company policy" thing that's being used to cover their tracks? Like, doesn't transparency matter at all? πŸ’― Can't Tesco just be honest and say they messed up? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ I guess only time (and a lot of money) will tell if these drivers can get some kind of justice... πŸ€‘

πŸ˜’ I'm telling you, something fishy is going on here... like, why is Tesco dodging responsibility for this? πŸ€” They're all about convenience and saving us money, but when it comes to their own faulty machines, they just disappear into thin air πŸ’Έ. And don't even get me started on that maintenance report... sounds like a cover-up to me πŸ˜’. I mean, what's the real story behind those car washes? Are they really as safe and reliable as Tesco claims? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I'd be keeping an eye on this one, that's for sure... πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

Ugh, this Tesco car wash debacle is such a mess 🀯! I mean, who gets damaged by an automated car wash? You'd think it's not Tesco's fault if the thing breaks, but nope, they're all about dodging liability πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. I've seen these reports before and it's always the same story: some poor driver gets a nasty scratch or dent, and then Tesco is like "Sorry, not our problem!" πŸ˜’. And now this poor guy has to shell out Β£750 for repairs? That's just ridiculous πŸ’Έ! Can't they just own up to their mistakes and take responsibility for it? I'm sure there are plenty of people who have been hurt by these machines, but Tesco is just sweeping it under the rug 🧹. They need to sort this out and make amends with their customers, ASAP ⏰.

Ugh dont get me wrong i love tech but this tesco car wash thingy is wild 750 quid in repairs yeah thats not cool at all and its like they're trying to sweep it under the rug all these ppl coming forward with similar complaints and tesco just sending them letters saying no fault found and disclaimer at the entrance like that's gonna cut it for everyone? anyway i wouldve liked to see tesco take responsibility for this mess its only fair to those who get damaged im not saying dont use car washes but make sure you read the fine print and know what ur getting yourself into

Ugh 🀯 I feel so bad for this guy πŸ˜”. Who wants to deal with a car wash that just ruins your ride πŸ’Έ? Β£750 is a lot of money, you know? πŸ€‘ And now he's stuck with trying to get Tesco to take responsibility or fight him in court πŸš”. It's not like the company even lets him see the report that says everything was fine πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, what if something went wrong and they just covered it up? πŸ€‘ That would be really unfair πŸ˜’. I hope this guy gets some kind of compensation or at least a new car πŸš—. This whole thing just doesn't sit right with me 😐.

Ugh, this is so annoying πŸ™„! I mean, come on Tesco, you're literally profiting off people's convenience, but when something goes wrong, you just ghost them. The driver was left with a huge bill, like over Β£750!!! That's crazy expensive. And now they have to deal with all the hassle of trying to get compensation from their insurance or taking it to court. It's not right, man. 🀯

ugh this is crazy 🀯 i went to tesco supermarket once and saw them building an automated car wash at the entrance and thought it was gonna make life easier for drivers like me... but now i'm starting to regret using it. £750 is a lot of money and i dont think its fair that they're not taking responsibility for their own machines. i mean what kind of company doesnt want to fix their problem??

i feel so bad for JM, he's going through this and cant even get the report that shows the truth about the car wash... it just goes to show that big corporations like tesco only care about themselves. its not just JM, theres other people who came forward with similar complaints too... what are they supposed to do now?

OMG, I'm soooo annoyed by Tesco's automated car wash debacle 🀯! I mean, who needs that kind of stress in their life? JM's story is just the tip of the iceberg - there are tons of others who've had similar issues and it's crazy how Tesco is shying away from responsibility πŸ™„. The whole thing stinks, especially when they're making drivers pay for repairs themselves... Β£750 is no joke! πŸ’Έ And yeah, that maintenance report is sketchy - can't we have some transparency here? πŸ€” I'm all for companies taking care of their machines, but not at the expense of innocent customers who just want to wash their cars in peace 😩. It's time for Tesco to own up and make things right! πŸ’ͺ

OMG, what's going on at Tesco's car washes?! πŸš—πŸ˜‘ I mean, come on! A Β£750 repair bill is already crazy, but not accepting liability? That's just not cool πŸ˜’. And what really takes the cake is being told there was no fault with the machine and that you can't see the maintenance report because of company policy πŸ€”. Like, how does that even work?! πŸ™„. I've heard so many stories from friends about these automated car washes damaging their rides too 😩. It's like Tesco is trying to sweep this under the rug 🧹. The driver's got a long road ahead of them, good luck with that πŸ’ͺ. We need more transparency and accountability from big companies like Tesco πŸ‘€

πŸš—πŸ’Έ just had to share my thoughts on this Tesco car wash saga... if they're so confident in their maintenance reports, why not let customers see them? I mean, wouldn't you want your customers to trust that the machines are working properly? πŸ€” and Β£750 is a pretty hefty repair bill, i'd be bloody angry too. seems like tesco's trying to pass the buck on this one. what's really going on behind the scenes at those car washes?! πŸ€‘
