I'm so frustrated with Tesco's response to this issue . It seems like they're more worried about protecting their own image than taking responsibility for the damage caused by their automated car washes. I mean, who wants to admit that their machines can cause damage to customers' vehicles when it happens? Not Tesco, apparently

.
It's ridiculous that they're relying on some maintenance report to absolve themselves of liability, especially when there are so many online complaints about similar issues. It just goes to show that they don't really care about their customers or the damage their machines can cause. I'm not surprised that the repair estimate is £750 - it's probably going to take them a while to fix their reputation too .
.
I wish Tesco would just be honest and take responsibility for their mistakes instead of trying to sweep them under the rug . It's customers like me who get hurt, after all!

750 quid is a lot to fix that kind of damage, and Tesco's just passing the buck
750 quid is a lot to fix that kind of damage, and Tesco's just passing the buck by citing some maintenance report that says everything is fine. like what even is the point of that? staff saying customers are complaining all the time should be enough for them to take responsibility or at least investigate further... anyway, I'm not surprised they're trying to avoid paying out

I'm not buying Tesco's story here. They're trying to wash their hands of responsibility because it'll save them money. £750 is a significant repair bill and they're just going to tell you that's on you? That maintenance report from the contracted company doesn't hold any weight, especially with staff members knowing about the frequent damages reported by customers. The fact that they claim each case is individual but are sticking to a blanket policy tells me they're more concerned with saving cash than making things right.
