Airbnb tests letting users order groceries through Instacart

Airbnb has taken its hosting services to a whole new level by testing a feature that allows guests to order groceries through Instacart, according to reports by Bloomberg. While it may not be a revolutionary idea for guests who can already use any grocery app during their stay, this new service offers an added layer of convenience before the guest's arrival.

For instance, hosts can prepare for events like barbecues or parties ahead of time and have all the necessary ingredients at hand. This could prove particularly useful around holidays when hosting gatherings is a common occurrence.

As part of the pilot program, Airbnb will be reimbursing hosts $25 for every completed order through Instacart, provided they put the groceries away before the guests arrive. However, it's worth noting that guests will still need to put their own groceries away during their stay.

Potential customers can place an Instacart order up to three weeks in advance of their booking, adding another layer of planning and preparation into the hosting process.

The testing of this feature began on January 5 and is set to run for a period of three months to gauge how guests and hosts react. Initially, it will be available to "select hosts" across several US cities, including Phoenix, Orlando, and Los Angeles. This marks another unique integration by Airbnb, following its partnership with ChargePoint last year, which offered discounts on electric vehicle chargers to host.

The move is aimed at entice more hosts to install EV charging points, as part of a broader effort by the platform to attract eco-conscious hosts.

omg I'm so down for this new feature 🀩! like who doesn't love planning ahead and having everything they need when they arrive? especially during holidays it's super stressful trying to remember what you need for all those guests πŸŽ‰. this is a game changer for me, especially since i can already use grocery apps but now it's all in one place and convenient for both hosts and guests πŸ“¦. I'm also loving that Airbnb is supporting its hosts by reimbursing them $25 for each order πŸ’Έ. it's not perfect though, still gotta put our own groceries away during the stay 😊. can't wait to see how this works out in 3 months 🀞

I'm so down for this! 🀩 As a parent, I've had my fair share of last-minute grocery runs before picking up my kids from school or after their activities. This new feature on Airbnb is like a lifesaver for us busy parents who just want to relax and enjoy our stay at the guesthouse.

I can imagine how great it would be to have all the ingredients ready for a BBQ party with friends, no need to rush out during work hours. And $25 reimbursement for hosts is a nice touch! πŸ’Έ I'm curious to see how this will affect the hosting process and whether guests will start planning their meals more in advance.

I think this is a brilliant move by Airbnb to attract more eco-conscious hosts and provide an added layer of convenience for both hosts and guests. It's all about making life easier, right? 😊

πŸ€” I think this new feature is a game-changer for hosting experiences 🏠. Not only does it save time and stress for both hosts and guests, but it also opens up more possibilities for creative entertaining πŸŽ‰. Being able to order groceries in advance takes the guessing out of what ingredients you'll need for that BBQ or dinner party, making it a total win-win πŸ™Œ. Plus, with Airbnb taking care of the $25 reimbursement, hosts can focus on the fun stuff too 😊. It's like having your own personal concierge service built right into the hosting platform! πŸ‘

so this new feature on Airbnb is pretty cool I think... they're trying to make hosting more convenient for guests and hosts alike πŸ€”πŸ“ˆ

I can imagine being able to order groceries ahead of time would be super helpful, especially during holidays when you gotta plan a lot of food and drinks for your party πŸŽ‰. it's also good that the hosts get reimbursed for the orders - $25 sounds like a decent amount πŸ’Έ.

the fact that guests still have to put away their own groceries is a bit of a bummer, but I guess that's just part of the hosting gig πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. and hey, if it helps attract more eco-friendly hosts, who cares about the EV chargers too? 😊

anyway, three months might be a good test period to see how this feature goes down... gotta love how Airbnb is always trying new things to improve the hosting experience πŸ“ˆπŸ‘

come on... $25 for ordering groceries through Instacart? that's like charging us per breath we take... just kidding lol πŸ˜‚ but seriously, what's next? are they gonna start delivering our sheets and towels too? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ hosts already have enough to deal with, now they gotta worry about the grocery shopping logistics too? 🀯 i mean, i guess it's convenient for guests who can't be bothered to cook themselves, but for anyone else, this just seems like another way for hosts to lose money... and what's up with the $25 reimbursement? that's just a nice little bonus for hosts, not exactly changing their minds about using Instacart πŸ€‘

πŸ€” I gotta say, this Instacart thingy is kinda cool, but also super convenient for hosts too... πŸ“¦πŸ‘ Can imagine having all the ingredients ready for that big holiday gathering or BBQ, no last-minute scrambles. And $25 reimbursement? Nice touch! πŸ‘Œ But isn't it weird that guests still gotta put their own groceries away after they arrive? 😊 Guess that's just part of sharing a space, right? 🏠 Anyway, another cool innovation from Airbnb... what's next? πŸ€”

omg you guys! 🀯 Airbnb just took it to a whole new level with grocery ordering through Instacart! its so cool that hosts can prep for events and parties ahead of time like who needs that stress? especially around holidays, hosting gatherings is super common lol. and yaaas $25 reimbursement from instacart is a nice touch πŸ€‘ but gotta say, its still on us to put our own groceries away during stay tho πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ anyway, testing this feature for 3 months in select cities sounds like a solid plan πŸ‘

just saw this and i'm like yeah why not lol πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ think it's cool that hosts can prep for events ahead of time, makes hosting so much easier. also great that guests can get their fave groceries delivered beforehand πŸ•πŸ‘Œ but $25 reimbursement from airbnb sounds kinda low tbh πŸ’Έ

I gotta say, this new feature is kinda cool, but also got me thinking... What's next? Are they gonna start sending us welcome packs with essentials or something πŸ€”? I mean, on one hand, it's awesome that hosts can prep for events and guests can get what they need without having to leave the property. But, on the other hand, it feels like just another layer of complexity in an already busy hosting process. And, personally, I'm not sure I want my host sending me groceries and expecting me to put them away when I arrive πŸ™„. Still, if it's a win-win for hosts and guests, I'm all for it 😊.

😊 so this new feature by Airbnb is kinda cool but also kinda weird... i mean who needs groceries delivered to their place before they even arrive? πŸ€” like isn't that what Instacart is for in the first place? πŸ›οΈ and what about all the extra planning and prep time for hosts? 3 weeks in advance of booking feels super far away... πŸ“† but at the same time, it's cool that Airbnb wants to help with holiday hosting and parties... πŸŽ‰ especially if hosts can get reimbursed $25 for groceries... πŸ’Έ does this mean guests will have access to all kinds of goodies too? πŸ€”

man this is wild 🀯 think about it, we're already living in a world where our homes are essentially mini-communities and now Airbnb's trying to take that convenience to the next level by allowing us to order groceries before we even arrive... it's like they're saying, 'hey, your home isn't just a place to stay, it's an experience' πŸ πŸ‘

and on a deeper note, doesn't this feature also speak to our increasing desire for control and planning in our lives? we want everything to be perfect, from the lighting to the ambiance to the food... it's like we're trying to create these idealized versions of ourselves and our spaces. πŸ€”

but what does this say about our relationship with time and effort? we're so used to having instant gratification that when something offers us a chance to save time and energy, we're all about it. πŸ’Έ yet, at the same time, isn't there something beautiful about the process of preparing for others, of anticipating their needs and wants? πŸ€—

πŸ€” This new Instacart ordering feature for Airbnb feels like it's taking convenience to a whole new level, but at the same time, I'm not sure if it's really going to make that big of a difference for guests and hosts alike... I mean, isn't having groceries delivered ahead of time kinda like, well, already available through other services like Instacart? πŸ“¦ But hey, being able to have everything you need right at the host's place is definitely nice, especially around holidays when hosting gatherings can get super chaotic... The $25 reimbursement for hosts is a pretty sweet bonus too πŸ’Έ. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out over the next three months and if it becomes a standard feature or just a pilot program thing πŸ“Š.

omg u no i was just thinking about how crazy it is when u r planning a party n u realize u forgot 2 buy cake πŸ°πŸŽ‚ lol anyway back 2 this new thing on airbnb... its so cool that they r tryin 2 make hosting easier, but can u imagine havin 2 take time off work 2 shop for groceries 3 wks in advance? 🀯 and isnt it weird that hosts get reimbursed $25 if they put the groceries away? like what even is the point of that lol.

OMG u gotta love how Airbnb is leveling up their hosting game 🀯! Like, who wouldn't want to be able to order groceries before they even arrive? It's def gonna make planning for events way easier, especially around holidays when hosting gatherings is a major thing. And $25 reimbursement from Instacart is a nice touch πŸ’Έ. But gotta say, it's kinda cool that Airbnb is also trying to attract eco-friendly hosts with the EV charging points deal 🌎. Maybe we'll see more sustainable options on the platform soon? Can't wait to try out this new feature myself! πŸ‘
