I'm not surprised that people thought iPhone users were avoiding iOS 26 due to its design change, but this new info is actually kinda interesting. It seems like a lot of ppl are making assumptions without checking the facts first . Like, some ppl might be missing out on security patches because they're too busy complaining about the new UI . Apple's gotta make changes, and if people aren't liking it, maybe it's time for a redesign? But at the same time, I get why ppl wouldn't wanna upgrade just cuz of a design change... who doesn't hate a good ol' familiar UI?
I'm not surprised iOS 26 isn't taking off as expected . The whole "avoiding iOS 26" narrative was kinda overhyped imo . I mean, if you're using a 3+ year old iPhone, it's probably not worth upgrading just because of a design change . And let's be real, who even uses Liquid Glass anymore? It's been around for ages! The whole thing is kinda making me think that Apple's own security updates are the real reason people are slow to adopt iOS 26 . I mean, if you can't run the latest version of Safari, but still get security patches, why bother?
