Liverpool boss Arne Slot says he "completely understands the frustration" of fans who booed his team after a 1-1 draw with Burnley, acknowledging that his side did enough to win.

Slot described the atmosphere as "frustration rather than boos", saying Liverpool's failure to win was not for the first time this season - and not even since 1980/81, when the Reds' home league form began a decline.

The draw at Anfield means that despite winning just one of their three home league games against newly promoted sides, Liverpool remain unbeaten in the league for 12 games. However, Slot is disappointed with the lack of scoring opportunities, admitting that his team's ball possession has not been enough to create more chances in front of goal.

The Reds will be without Mohamed Salah for some time due to injury but the club welcome him back soon and this result only serves as a warning.

OMG u guys!! I'm literally fuming right now 😡, like what is going on with Liverpool??! They're one of the greatest teams in history and they can't even get 2 wins against some newly promoted team Burnley?! 🤯 I mean I know Arne Slot said they did enough to win but honestly it doesn't feel like that when u see them just sitting there not scoring goals 🚫, all day long!
