Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta encouraged by 'beautiful' meeting with players in wake of Man Utd defeat

Arsenal Boss Arteta Urges Players to 'Enjoy' Title Bid Amid Loss to Manchester United

Mikel Arteta has told his players that they must "enjoy" their position as title favourites, following a disappointing defeat to Manchester United. The Spaniard's squad have struggled for form in recent matches, but remain four points clear at the top of the table.

Arteta called an emergency meeting with his players on Monday to assess their emotions and motivation levels. He admitted that he was disappointed by the team's performance against United, but praised their efforts so far this season.

"We took a moment to bring the temperature down, to pause, to reflect and ask two questions," Arteta explained in quotes published after the match. "One was: 'How do we feel? And how do I feel myself?' And then: 'How do we want to live the next four months?'

"The reaction since United has been excellent... It's beautiful because what came out of there is very simple." The manager expressed confidence that his players would be able to bounce back from Monday's defeat.

"We have earned the right to be in a great position in four competitions, and in the next four months we're going to live and play with enjoyment, with a lot of courage and with the conviction that we're going to win it," Arteta said.

Arteta also defended his forwards, including Bukayo Saka, who has struggled for goals recently. The Spaniard believes that Saka's record over the past 200 games speaks for itself.

Arteta's focus is now on winning their Champions League bid against Kairat at home on Wednesday. They are also set to face Man City in the Carabao Cup semi-final and will look to make progress in the FA Cup quarter-final.

The manager acknowledged that his team would need to improve if they were to win the title, but expressed optimism about their chances. Arteta urged Arsenal supporters to "jump on that boat" with the team, adding that it was time for them to enjoy their position as title favourites.

I think its pretty cool how Arteta is keeping his players' heads up after a tough loss. I mean, we all have bad days, right? πŸ€” The way he's trying to focus on the positive and remind them that they've got this title bid in their sights... it's like, totally normal, you know? 😊 And I love how he's not putting too much pressure on his forwards, especially Saka. Like, we can all have a bit of an off game sometimes, right? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ So yeah, let's hope the team can get back to form and enjoy this great position they're in... because, honestly, who wouldn't want to be title favourites? 😎

πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ come on, Arteta, you tell your players to 'enjoy' being top dogs now? after they just lost a crucial match πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ it's one thing to say that, another thing entirely to actually back it up πŸ’ͺ especially when they're not exactly lighting up the pitch lately πŸ”₯ like, how hard is it to stay motivated when you're playing poorly? πŸ€” and btw, what's with the "we have earned the right" vibe? sounds like he's more concerned about keeping his cool than winning the title πŸ˜’

I mean, have you seen the stats on Arsenal's form this season? 🀯 They're 4th in the league but only scored 1 goal in the last 3 games πŸ“‰πŸ˜¬. And Arteta is telling them to "enjoy" their position as title faves πŸ†πŸ˜Ž. Like, are they not worried about the gap to Man City? πŸ€” The Gunners have only won 2 of their last 5 games in all competitions πŸ“ŠπŸ‘€. They need to get back to form ASAP or it's gonna be a long season 😬. Let's look at the stats on Bukayo Saka's goal-scoring record over the past 200 games... πŸ“ˆ He's averaged just 1.5 goals per game! 🀯 Arteta needs to sort out his squad and get them firing on all cylinders or they'll be sleeping with the fishes πŸ˜‚. And let's not forget, they have a tough Champions League tie against Kairat coming up on Wednesday πŸ†πŸ‘Š. Can they keep their cool under pressure? ⚑️

omg what a bold move by arteta 🀯 he's like 'enjoy' your top spot? i mean i get where he's coming from but can't we just win some games instead of having fun? πŸ†πŸ˜’ anyway gotta respect the effort, team's been grinding for a long time and it's awesome they're still on top πŸ™ŒπŸ”₯

Ugh, I feel like Mikel Arteta is just letting his players off the hook a bit... Like, sure, they had a tough loss to United, but instead of pushing them to be better, he's telling them to "enjoy" being in first place? πŸ€” It sounds like he's more worried about their morale than actually winning that title. And what's with defending Saka like that? πŸ™„ I get it, the guy's had a rough streak lately, but come on, Arteta... 200 games is not exactly a record to brag about... πŸ˜… Anyway, gotta see how this season pans out, but I'm still skeptical... πŸ’”

I'm literally so over Mikel Arteta's tactics right now lol. Like, I get it, he wants us to stay focused and all that but seriously can't we just give us a break? We've been riding high on this 4th place podium for ages and now he's telling us to ENJOY our spot? Are you kidding me?! πŸ˜‚

I mean, come on Arteta! You call an emergency meeting with the lads and suddenly it's all about having FUN?! 🀣 What happened to the usual fire in the belly that made us wanna smash Manchester United 3-0 last week?! I swear, sometimes I think he forgets what we're fighting for here.

And don't even get me started on Bukayo Saka! The kid's record over the past 200 games? Please. It's not like that's going to guarantee us a win every time. But seriously, Arteta needs to take a hard look at our attack and figure out what's really holding us back. We need more than just "enjoyment" out there on the pitch.

I'm not even mad at Arteta though. I'm just concerned. I want to see us win that title so badly, but if we can't even get it right when it matters most, then maybe we shouldn't be so quick to celebrate. Let's hope we can turn this around and make some noise in the next few weeks! ⚽️

I've got a feelin' Mikel's tryin' to shift the focus away from that last loss to Man U... 'Enjoy' they're gonna? Sounds like he's tellin' them to relax and have fun, but what about gettin' back to winning ways? πŸ€” They need to buckle down and remember why we got into this title bid in the first place. Four points clear is nice, but it's not over yet! 😬
