ASEAN does not recognise Myanmar’s elections ‘as of now’: Philippine FM

😕 another election scam in Myanmar 🤥 just when you think things can't get any worse for that country... they're still trying to legitimize their hold on power and now ASEAN is not having it 👎 3 rounds of voting, but who's really counting? Sounds like a total joke to me 🎉 the opposition parties were basically shut out, what a farce... can't wait to see how this all plays out 😒

the whole thing seems so messed up 🤯 i mean, the fact that they even held these elections without major opposition parties is just suspicious. it feels like another way for the military to control everything and maintain their grip on power. can we not recognize or legitimize a government that's basically been rigged from the start? it's all about who gets to decide what's "fair" in a situation where there are clear winners and losers 🤝

I'm not sure how I feel about ASEAN not recognizing Myanmar's elections yet... 🤔 It's like they're waiting for more info or something? On one hand, it's good that they're being cautious and trying to ensure the legitimacy of the process. But on the other hand, it seems like they're giving the military a bit too much room to maneuver. I mean, isn't this just another way for them to legitimize their rule? 🤷‍♂️

I also don't think we should be surprised that critics are labeling these elections as not free or fair... have we seen a more obvious case of election manipulation in our lifetimes? 🙅‍♂️ It's like the military is trying to spin this as some kind of democratic moment, but it just feels so forced. I hope ASEAN does end up calling them out on this eventually. 💯

🤔 I dont think ASEAN is being too harsh on this one... they gotta protect the people of Myanmar right? 😕 Its not like they can just acknowledge the elections and let the military get away with their actions. Thats not fair to the opposition parties who werent given a chance to participate. 🤷‍♀️ I also feel for Aung San Suu Kyi, she was doing such good things for that country before... 😔 its sad to see how far Myanmar has fallen.

I'm super confused about ASEAN not recognizing Myanmar's elections 🤔👀. I mean, they've already done it once before when the military took over back in 2021 🕰️. What's the difference now? It seems like a big deal to me... but hey, I guess it's all part of their whole normalizing efforts thing 💼. Can someone pls explain what's going on? Is there a way for us to keep track of this unfolding situation? 📊👀

I'm thinking ASEAN should be more careful with recognizing elections like this. I mean, if there's no free and fair voting process, it's hard to trust the outcome. It's not just about Myanmar, either - what happens when other countries try to replicate this model? We need to make sure we're promoting good governance and democratic values, you know?

It's also interesting that ASEAN is taking a cautious approach. Recognizing an election without making sure it's legit could send the wrong message. I think it's better for them to hold off on recognition until they can verify the process was fair and free. Let's hope Myanmar gets its act together and holds a proper election soon! 😊
