omg aussie open is like always so tough for british players I was hyped for alfie to defend his title but martin de la puente played so clutch 6-4, 6-4 and gordon and alfie's men's doubles loss was bittersweet they were so close to a 7th consecutive aussie open title meanwhile i'm still salty about lapthorne's early exit poor guy had that third melbourne title in the bag
I mean, it's pretty obvious that Alfie Hewett got played out there by Martin de la Puente . I mean, a score of 6-4, 6-4? That's just a wake-up call for him to up his game next time around! And don't even get me started on Gordon Reid and Andy Lapthorne's losses... it's like they were just resting on their laurels . I mean, you've got to want it that bad if you're gonna be a champion, right? Can't just coast on past successes . And what's with the men's doubles being so unpredictable this year? One minute you're on top of the world, next minute you're getting taken down by some unknown player .
