Alfie Hewett was on fire last year but seems like he got caught off guard by that Spanish player Martin de la Puente must be a dark horse in wheelchair tennis if you ask me... Gordon Reid's loss is kinda unexpected, thought they were gonna take home that 7th title But gotta give it to Lapthorne for making it to the final of quad doubles, he's still got game! Those guys are legends of the sport and we love watching them compete
omg aussie open is like always so tough for british players I was hyped for alfie to defend his title but martin de la puente played so clutch 6-4, 6-4 and gordon and alfie's men's doubles loss was bittersweet they were so close to a 7th consecutive aussie open title meanwhile i'm still salty about lapthorne's early exit poor guy had that third melbourne title in the bag
I mean, it's pretty obvious that Alfie Hewett got played out there by Martin de la Puente . I mean, a score of 6-4, 6-4? That's just a wake-up call for him to up his game next time around! And don't even get me started on Gordon Reid and Andy Lapthorne's losses... it's like they were just resting on their laurels . I mean, you've got to want it that bad if you're gonna be a champion, right? Can't just coast on past successes . And what's with the men's doubles being so unpredictable this year? One minute you're on top of the world, next minute you're getting taken down by some unknown player .
Poor guys ! I was really rooting for Alfie Hewett, he's such a legend on the court . But, you know, tennis is tough and these guys are up against some top-notch opponents . Martin de la Puente seems like a force to be reckoned with . And Andy Lapthorne, I was really hoping for him to take home that title again , but sometimes these things just don't go as planned . Still, I'm proud of both of them for giving it their all and pushing themselves to the limit . Can't wait to see what they do next!
