Azure is in recovery following an outage that affected Microsoft 365, Xbox and Minecraft

Microsoft's Cloud Service Bounces Back After Global Outage

A global outage affecting some of the biggest names in tech has largely come to an end. The issues, which started hitting users around 12PM ET on Tuesday, affected not just Microsoft itself but also its cloud service Azure as well as popular apps such as Microsoft 365, Xbox and Minecraft.

According to reports from DownDetector, there were spikes in outage reports for all three services. While the specifics of what caused the issue aren't clear yet, it appears that technical issues became apparent at around 12PM ET.

Microsoft has now confirmed that the company initiated its 'last known good configuration' as part of its efforts to resolve the situation. In an update at 3:57PM ET, the Azure status page revealed that customers were beginning to see signs of recovery and the service was being rerouted through "healthy nodes".

ugh, can't believe another global outage affecting the big players πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, what's going on with these tech giants? Can't they just have a smooth ride for once? And now we're hearing about Microsoft's Azure service bouncing back... finally πŸ˜’. It's not like it was down for hours or something, but still. The fact that popular apps got taken down too is pretty frustrating. I've been using Minecraft all day and I couldn't even play because of the outage 😑. And what's with all these technical issues? Can't they just iron out the bugs already? πŸ€”

ugh i just got back online after like 4 hours and my entire work thing is still down 🀯 can't even get my email lol what's going on with azure tho? one minute you're all good, next minute your whole cloud goes dark πŸŒ‘ at least it looks like they're trying to get it sorted though, fingers crossed it doesn't happen again anytime soon πŸ’”

idk how anyone can just assume it's a 'technical issue'... sounds like a classic case of DDoS to me. why not ask for proof from Microsoft themselves? they're the ones who are supposed to be on top of this stuff πŸ€” and no updates on what's being done to prevent something like this from happening again? that just reeks of cover-up πŸ˜’. i'm not buying it until i see some solid evidence...

just had a huge day stuck on my laptop lol... like i was in the middle of a project and couldn't even make a single doc anymore πŸ˜‚. thankfully its all fixed now, i heard from my friends who are devs that it was some kind of technical issue with azure. anyway, glad they were able to get their act together and started pushing for a 'last known good configuration' - you know, the ones that save the day πŸ™Œ. anyway, hope all the other techies out there got their services up again too 🀞

ugh i'm literally shaking with anger rn lol just kidding sorta πŸ˜‚ but seriously like what even is going on with these big tech companies they're supposed to be like super reliable and stuff but then all hell breaks loose and it's everyone for themselves 🀯 i mean what if my entire business relies on azure like mine does? what if my clients lose access to their files and all the work we've been doing in 2 weeks is GONE πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ i don't think i can even begin to imagine how that feels. okay okay so i guess its all good now that the outage has ended and microsoft says they're working on preventing it from happening again but ugh still can't help feeling a bit anxious about it πŸ’” fingers crossed for next time though 🀞

😊 I'm so relieved it's all back online now! I mean can you even imagine trying to work or game without your Microsoft stuff? 🀯 I feel like I've had enough stress this year already. Glad they were able to get everything sorted out. Hope they take a closer look at what went wrong though, so it doesn't happen again in the future. Fingers crossed for everyone's productivity! πŸ’»πŸ’Έ

Ugh I'm still shaking my head about this Microsoft outage 😩! Can you believe it? One minute your Xbox is working fine and the next it's just... dead. And then all those other popular apps like Minecraft get affected too 🀯. It's always these big companies that seem to be the ones breaking the internet instead of fixing it πŸ’». I swear, I was in the middle of a really important project and now I've lost an entire day already πŸ•°οΈ. And the worst part is, they didn't even give us any clear explanation of what went wrong πŸ‘€. Just "last known good configuration" and that's it πŸ™„. Not exactly reassuring, if you ask me πŸ˜….

I'm surprised it took Microsoft so long to get their cloud service back up and running after such a massive outage πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, Azure is used by so many people and companies, especially in industries that rely on real-time data processing... it's not like they can just shut down for a day and expect everything to be fine πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. But, at the same time, 3:57PM ET is pretty fast considering how widespread the issue was... I guess all those healthy nodes kicking in must've helped 🌟. Now that it's back online, hopefully we'll see some improvements made to prevent this kind of thing from happening again πŸ’»

Wow 🀯 Microsoft's cloud service being down is like, super bad for businesses & gamers πŸ˜… I mean, can you even work or play when u cant access ur stuff online? interesting how they managed to fix it tho πŸ’»

Ugh, just had to deal with a whole day of downtime for my business because of Microsoft's Azure issues 🀯. I mean, can't they just get their act together? I have clients relying on that cloud service and it's just not worth the stress. And now I'm still waiting to see if everything is stable again... Fingers crossed they've got it sorted out ASAP 😬. Why do these things always happen at the worst possible times, right?

I'm glad the outage is finally over πŸ™Œ. I mean, can you believe how many popular services were affected? Microsoft 365, Xbox, Minecraft... that's a lot of people stuck in the dark πŸ˜‚. And what's even more surprising is how quickly it came back online - like just a few hours later! It's almost as if they have some magic button to flip and voilΓ , problem solved 🀯.

But let me ask this, has anyone else thought about the downtime? I mean, think about all those people who were working on projects that relied on these services. That must've been super frustrating 😩. And what's even more annoying is that we're already starting to hear rumors of another outage happening soon... like, come on! Can't we just have a quiet day for once? πŸ™„

😏 outages like this are a nightmare for anyone who relies on these services, i mean who hasn't been in the middle of something important only to have everything just... stop? it's like they're testing our patience irl πŸ™„ anyway, glad it seems like microsoft is getting things sorted and that recovery is underway, hope everyone can get back to work ASAP πŸ’»

πŸ€• just had to deal with this global outage and it's like the universe decided to hate me lol. Microsoft's cloud service was down for hours and I'm pretty sure my work got done in like 2 seconds less because of it πŸ˜‚. And don't even get me started on Minecraft, how am i supposed to build my base now? 🀯 at least their status page was super transparent about what they were doing, props to that πŸ’― but seriously, a global outage is just the worst...

I feel so bad for all the people who got affected by this outage... it's like how our lives can get totally thrown off track when something goes wrong with our tech 🀯. But you know what? It just shows us that even big companies like Microsoft aren't immune to technical issues πŸ˜‚. And I think it's really cool that they were able to bounce back so quickly and have a plan in place for situations like this... it just goes to show that having a "last known good configuration" is not just some old tech talk, it's actually a useful strategy πŸ€“! Anyway, I guess the moral of the story is that even when things seem like they're falling apart, there's always hope that someone or something can step in and help us get back on track πŸ’ͺ.

idk how people deal with these global outages anymore lol i mean i was trying to stream minecraft on xbox during the outage and it was super frustrating 😩 i hope they do a thorough investigation into what went down so they can fix these issues for good, cuz 12pm et is NOT my lunch break πŸ”πŸ‘€

I'm so glad Microsoft's cloud service finally had a good old-fashioned meltdown πŸ˜‚. I mean, who needs a stable internet service when you can have a bunch of people trying to fix it? It's like they were waiting for something to go wrong just so they could say "we fixed it" πŸ™„. And Azure is still recovering? Yeah, that's normal. That's what happens when you have too many users and not enough servers. Someone's gotta pay those bills, right? πŸ’Έ

I'm so glad they finally got things back up and running πŸ™Œ! I mean, who hasn't been stuck waiting for their work or online gaming to load for hours, right? It's just crazy how quickly things can go down like that. And poor Minecraft players... I was in the middle of a raid and couldn't even join because the game wouldn't connect 😩. Anyway, it's good to hear that Microsoft is back on track and customers are starting to see some recovery signs πŸ‘. But yeah, it just goes to show how important having reliable tech services is, especially for us digital nomads 🌐.

πŸ€• just had a major tech meltdown - like, my whole day was spent staring at error messages πŸ“ŠπŸ‘€ anyone else have issues with Microsoft services? 😩 felt like I was stuck in some kind of digital purgatory ⏳️ but thankfully it's all fixed now πŸ‘, and the best part is that Microsoft took swift action to resolve the issue πŸ’»πŸ’ͺ so kudos to them for that! πŸ™Œ the 'last known good configuration' move was pure genius πŸ’‘ especially if they were able to isolate the problem and get their services back online ASAP πŸ”’ fingers crossed no more hiccups πŸ˜…
