A bizarre accident occurred on a rural North Carolina highway when a bald eagle suddenly swooped down and dropped a cat onto a driver's car windshield, shattering it into a massive hole.

The incident happened around 8 am on Wednesday on US-74 in Swain County. The woman behind the wheel was left shaken but miraculously uninjured after the unexpected event. According to authorities, she called 911 to report what can only be described as an extraordinary sighting – "I had a bald eagle drop a cat through my windshield," she allegedly said.

The bizarre conversation with the operator left both parties stunned: "You may not believe me, but I just had a bald eagle drop a cat through my windshield. It absolutely shattered my windshield." The response from the operator? "I do believe you, honestly."

Witnesses corroborated her account, describing it as one of the most astonishing things they'd ever seen.

Tragically, the feline passenger didn't survive its unplanned aerial ride.
