I mean I'm all for feel-good ads and getting me kids excited about American history, but is it too much to ask for some real substance? 
I watched the "American Icons" ad with my 7-year-old and she was literally beaming with joy... but what did we learn from it? Was it just a shallow attempt to make us feel good without actually teaching anything valuable? 
My kid is asking why the eagle didn't try flying when it was born, like I do wonder too!
